port is being built in three phases. Post the #ompletion of the first phase in a re#ord time of '8
months, Krishnapatnam Port +as dedi#ated to the nation on 9uly ':, ;**8. Currently the se#ond
phase of development is under+ay. Port has numerous strengths li)e its area, lo#ation, +eather

Krishnapatnam is a port to+n in =uthu)ur =andal of Nellore >istri#t, the southernmost #oastal
distri#t in the state of 3ndhra Pradesh, 0ndia. /he history says that Vi?ayanagar Emperor, %ri
Krishnadevaraya operated this port, hen#e the port +as named as Krishnapatnam Port. /he port
operated small boats through (u#)ingham Canal, +hi#h runs behind the port and +as used as a
+ater+ay for transportation bet+een Chennai in the south and Krishna river delta in the north.
