(Tucson, Arizona) Tech Parks Arizona announced two new tenants at the UA Tech Park,
Thompson-Wimmer and Cleveland Electric Laboratories. These companies have
established a presence of their company at the Tech Park to develop and demonstrate new
products. The successful recruitment of these new tenants is largely due to Tech Parks
Arizonas new business development attraction program, Global Advantage, which aligns
closely with the University of Arizona (UA) research strengths.

Thompson-Wimmer's Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS) Division is a leading technical
services provider and consulting firm, assisting with the safe assimilation of UAS into the
National Airspace System, while advancing commercial and public market integration.
Their team of subject matter experts provides for the successful selection of UAS
platforms and sensor technology integration, airspace management, concepts of
operations and risk assessments. Teamed with the UA Tech Park and partner tenants,
Thompson-Wimmer is helping bridge gaps in UAS and sensor technology research,
identifying viable and efficient data collection capabilities for various industry sectors to
including agriculture and mining.

Cleveland Electric Laboratories is using the Solar Zone as a large-scale testing and
demonstration site for its FiberStrike Direct Burial Perimeter Security
System. FiberStrike is a new family of fiber optic-based sensing solutions developed by
Cleveland Electric Laboratories Advanced Technology Group. FiberStrike extends the
capabilities of fiber optic sensing and includes a variety of sensors and sensing systems
for security and industrial applications.

Tech Parks Arizona has aligned its economic development activities with the universitys
research strengths and is actively recruiting tenants by leveraging focused attraction
teams which bring key individuals together to work with prospective companies. Teams
consist of a UA researcher, an industry expert, a Tech Parks Arizona business
development leader, a representative from an economic development organization and
UA student interns. The targeted industries not only complement the universitys areas
of research but also the regions broader economic development strategy.

Cleveland Electric Laboratories
Cleveland Electric Laboratories (CEL) was founded in 1920 and is a privately owned
company. Headquartered in Twinsburg, OH, the company is a major supplier of
industrial thermocouples. The CEL Advanced Technologies Group opened in Tempe,
Arizona in 2004 and provides gas turbine engine test instrumentation, design engineering,
fabrication, repair and calibration, as well as electro-optical and fiber-optic based
instrumentation design and fabrication.
