3) Get familiar with the Visio interface. Describe A, B, C, and D

A is the menu bar and toolbars. Toolbars consist of icons that act as short-cuts to the
commands found under the menus. The icons on the toolbars are organized according to
function and according to the most commonly used commands. The toolbar that usually
appears directly below the menu bar is called the Standard Toolbar.

B is the shapes window. The Shapes window organizes shapes and provides ways for
you to find more shapes. Shapes are organized in stencils. Every diagram template
includes one or more stencils with shapes that are relevant to the diagram type. To
find more shapes, you can browse the shapes you have installed or you can search
your computer or the Internet. When you need more working room for your
diagram, you can minimize the Shapes window and still have access to the most-
used shapes.

C is the drawing window. This is where you can do your charts and diagrams. The
drawing window has rulers at the top and left side. The rulers (and the status bar)
show the position of the pointer on the sheet. To turn the ruler display on or off,
click View, Rulers. To specify the major and minor ruler line graduations, click Tools,
Options, Document Properties, and Grid/Snap . Specify the Major grid spacing and
Minor-lines per major settings.

right side of the window. You can search for online contents or offline contents such
as templates, design, help, clip art, document management and other tools.
