HIV, or Human Immunodeficiency Virus, is one of the types of STDs that cause from virus. STDs, or Sexually Transmitted Diseases, are infections that you may get from having sex with someone who has the infection. During the time that having sex with the person who has the infection, the bodily fluids that can transmit HIV are pre-seminal fluid, semen, rectal mucous, vaginal fluid and blood, that will come out because of the laceration of hymen while having sex for the first time (however, not all women will have the blood come out for the first time while having sex because some womens hymen may lacerated before because of the physical exercise). Some of other bodily fluids that can transmit HIV are breast milk, cerebrospinal fluid, amniotic fluid and fluid in the joints. HIV can transmit by sharing needles, blood transfusion and organ donation, mother-to-child and unprotected sex. The symptoms of the people who have HIV have 3 stages. First, flu-like symptoms like fever, headache, sore throat, tiredness and swollen glands. Next, latency, which means that nothing will happen during this stage, its like the virus is sleeping. Then, AIDS or Acquired Immunodeficiency Syndrome, which is the final stage of HIV infection. The ways to prevent HIV are condoms, do not share needles, abstinence and antiretroviral therapy. Now a day, due to availability of HIV medications, people do not take HIV seriously anymore, they seem to be careless about HIV. In my opinion, I think it has good and bad points about it. For the good points, I think it is good that people do not take HIV seriously anymore because before we have HIV medications, the infected people might look disgusting in other peoples eyes. No one will want to work or play with them because they afraid that they might infect HIV, so they will avoid the infected people. But now, when people know that there are HIV medications, many people do not scare of being near the infected people anymore. To have HIV medications for infected people is like giving new life for them because they do not need to be afraid of how other people will treat them cruelly, they can live normally like normal people. When we look from the normal peoples perspective and the infected peoples perspective, we can see that the infected people mostly get advantages. For example, they can happily live like normal people and they will be treated like the others. However, we also need to make sure that the normal people have some information and quite understand about HIV because even though we have HIV medications, but if other people still have misconceptions about HIV like HIV can infect by touching infected peoples skin, the infected people still cannot live happily because those people who have misconception will not want to came near them anyway. For the bad points of having people who do not take HIV seriously because we have HIV medications are people will not care of taking care of their body anymore. This might be because they think that they will not die anyway because there already have medications to cure HIV but this is not true. HIV medications cannot cure AIDS, third stage of HIV, they can only treat AIDS, and decrease the amount of HIV in your body. So, some people might neglect to protect themselves from HIV because of this misconception. Moreover, some good medications might be too expensive for you so you should protect yourself first before it is too late because prevention is better than cure. So, we can say that having HIV medications have both advantage and disadvantage. It helps infected people to live happily in the society, but it also causes people to be careless. Lastly, we should make sure that everyone know and understand about HIV so that the number of infected people might decrease because they know the correct ways to prevent HIV.
