TOURNAMENT RULES and REGULATIONS
The c#mp(e%i#n #) %he *ame
a. The /ame is won by the player who has chec7mated his opponent8s 7in/. This immediately
ends the /ame, pro*ided that the mo*e producin/ the chec7mate position was a le/al
mo*e.
b. The /ame is won by the player whose opponent declares he resi/ns. This immediately
ends the /ame.
c. The /ame is drawn when the player to mo*e has no le/al mo*e and his 7in/ is not in
chec7. The /ame is said to end in 9stalemate8. This immediately ends the /ame, pro*ided
that the mo*e producin/ the stalemate position was le/al.
d. The /ame is drawn when a position has arisen in which neither player can chec7mate the
opponent8s 7in/ with any series of le/al mo*es. The /ame is said to end in a 9dead
position8. This immediately ends the /ame, pro*ided that the mo*e producin/ the position
was le/al.
e. The /ame is drawn upon a/reement between the two players durin/ the /ame. This
immediately ends the /ame.
f. The /ame may be drawn if any identical position is about to appear or has appeared on
the chessboard at least three times.
/. The /ame may be drawn if each player has made at least the last 0 consecuti*e mo*es
without the mo*ement of any pawn and without any capture.

a. 'ecordin/ of mo*es is optional.
Usin* %he Chess C(#c.
a. 9.hess cloc78 means a cloc7 with two time displays, connected to each other in such a way
that only one of them can run at one time. 9.loc78 in the -aws of .hess, means one of the
two times displays. ,ach time display has a 9:a/8. 9+la/ fall8 means the e;piration of the
allotted time for a player.
b. If the player8s <:a/= fell, pro*ided that the opponent has a matin/ material then the
opponent is declared as the winner.
c. The player can only use one hand in usin/ the cloc7. The hand that is used in mo*in/ the
pieces should also be the hand used in pressin/ the cloc7.
