Unlock the crankcase ventilation hose on the cylinder head cover and lay it aside (illustration 1, red arrows).

Close the adapter on the cylinder head cover (illustration 1).
Run the engine at idle speed.
Spray the marked area (illustration 2 and 3) with commercially available glass cleaner or a leak-searching
spray. Check sprayed area between oil filler neck and cylinder head cover for bubbles.
If a leak is found in the marked area (illustrations 2 and 3) and a cylinder head cover with part number: 03L 03L 03L 03L
103 469 H 103 469 H 103 469 H 103 469 H is fitted (illustration 3), repair the cylinder head cover according to point 2 point 2 point 2 point 2 of the instructions.

Wash the engine and carefully dry the engine and the engine compartment with compressed air.
Clean the bonding surface in the oil filler neck (with cloth). Thoroughly clean the bonding surface with
applicator (part number D 009 500 25 D 009 500 25 D 009 500 25 D 009 500 25) and cleaner (part number D 009 401 04 D 009 401 04 D 009 401 04 D 009 401 04). Dry the complete area with
compressed air (illustration 4-6). Repair the cleaning process several times till the bonding surface is
completely dry and liquid does not come out any more.

Warm up the bonder (part number D 176 501 A1 D 176 501 A1 D 176 501 A1 D 176 501 A1) in the cartridge heater -V.A.G 1939- for at least 15 minutes.
