The reports state that this land will be used for HBOS staff parking whilst a retaining wall is built. How can the developer guarantee that member of the public and HBOS staff will not be exposed to contamination and asbestos present in soil and airborne dust? Contamination found near to Holas lane canal bridge in an area assessable to the public 24/09/2011 (where the temporary Llloyds car parked is to be). Contamination was found ontop of a mound of soil and is thought to be large amounts of copper metal salts (probably copper carbonate ex the former wire works). Copper metal salts are Harmful by ingestion and irritating to skin. This mound of soil including contamination has since been moved and laid elsewhere on site. Pictures of contamination to go here Rubble found to be falling from Holas lane canal bridge whilst digging was being carried out nearby.
