Topic UNIT 21- Fun with Shapes

Content Standards

1.1 By the end of the 6-year primary schooling, pupils will be able to
pronounce words and speak confidently with the correct stress, rhythm, and
intonation.
1.2 By the end of the 6-year primary schooling, pupils will be able to listen and
respond appropriately in formal and informal situations for a variety of purpose.
1.3 By the end of the 6-year primary schooling, pupils will be able to understand
and respond to oral texts in a variety of context.


Learning Standards 1.1.1 Able to listen and respond to stimulus given with guidance.
1.1.3 Able to listen to, say aloud and recite rhymes or sing songs.
1.1.4 Able to talk about a stimulus with guidance.
1.2.2 Able to listen to and follow:
a) simple instructions in the classroom.
1.3.1 Able to listen to and demonstrate understanding of oral texts by:
a) answering simpe Wh-Questions.

Previous
Knowledge
Pupils have seen and know some basic shapes such as circle, square, triangle
and rectangle.

Learning Outcomes By the end of the lesson, pupils should be able to:
a) name and describe the features of the shapes correctly.
(circle, square, rectangle, and triangle).
b) sing the song with correct pronunciation.
c) mix and match the shapes with correct spelling.
d) give opinion or ideas about the topic.

Activity 1- Find the Shapes word.
1. Teacher divides pupils into 4
groups according to their level.
2. Teacher gives the instruction
to pupils.
3. Then, teacher distributes
pictures of shapes to two
groups of pupils and word
cards to another two groups.
4. Each two groups will get the
same pictures and words.
5. In groups, each pupil needs to
show the pictures they get and
tell the shape among the group
members.
6. Groups that get the word cards
need to give an example of
object that represent the
shapes in their own groups.
7. Then, pupils need to find and
match the words to the
pictures of shapes.

Activity 2- Drilling
1. Teacher asks pupils to sit with
their partner.
2. Teacher distributes a paper
contain a set of question and
answer.
3. Then, teacher read the
sentences and pupils follow
the teacher.
4. Teacher asks pupils to do in in
pairs.
5. Pupils repeat the question-
answer in turn taking.

Production
(15 minutes)

Teachers instruction:
Based on the
picture given in
the worksheet,
re-arrange the
letters
provided to
form a correct
answer.

1. Teacher gives instruction with
an example to the students.
2. Teacher distributes a word
scramble worksheet to each
pupil.
3. Then, pupils need to complete
the word scramble by their
own.
4. Teacher discusses the correct
answer with pupils.
5. Lastly, teacher praises pupils
for their good cooperation.

Closure
(5 minutes)
