I created this video to introduce my colleagues in the medical professions to Helen Osbornes book Health Literacy from A to Z. The American Medical Association defines Health literacy as the degree to which individuals have the capacity to obtain, process, and understand basic health information and services needed to make appropriate health decisions. Those of us who serve patients, whether health care providers, medical systems, pharmaceutical companies or anyone preparing health messages should be interested in making sure patients understand the complex world of medicine and issues that directly affect their health. This book has practical advise on making sure the patients you serve are able to take an active role in their health decisions. Thank you.
