Program Description

UBIS' Bachelor Program of Science in Finance with Major in Banking (BSF) is
based on current educational trends in business education. This program was
developed to meet demand of job market, propel carriers of our alumni and con-
tribute to professional knowledge and competence in business field.

The Bachelor program of Science in Finance with Major in Banking is a full-
time/part-time undergraduate course which analyses the theory and practice of
finance, focusing on financial decision making, financial analysis, and financial
markets and institutions. This specialization suits students looking to enter the
competitive world of bank management. The program is based upon the core
principles of finance and banking allowing students from an accountancy, eco-
nomics, finance and business background to extend their expertise in finance
leading to more quantitative jobs with corporate and financial institutions. It is
particularly suited if you wish to pursue a career in modern, international finan-
cial markets and it will develop your understanding and knowledge of banking
and finance systems. On this Bachelor, there is a very close link with the world
of banking and finance. Participants have the opportunity of completing a six-
month internship with companies or financial institutions, with the aim of learn-
ing about and experiencing the reality of this sector.

Faculty

All professors have vast experience in banking and financial services and will
share their professional broad knowledge and experience through their ses-
sions.
They will enhance the discussions between the participants.

15 years as General Manager in Belgium, Switzerland and Singapore,
Thailand (6 months as advisor of Commercial Bank to lead the change);

Bachelor in Economics and International Trade from EDC-Paris (France)
Over 20 years of experience in CEO and General Management or Execu-
tive positions in Switzerland, Europe and Asia, plus 10 years of consult-
ing, training, coaching, teaching at company and university level, mostly
MBAs/EMBAs
Expert in Intercultural Management to the Council of Europe and the
Confederation (OFPER)
Senior Consultant and Researcher on China matters for European SMEs
and on International Strategy for start-ups

PhD in International Economics from University of Geneva, Graduate In-
stitute for International Studies (IUHEI);
MA and BA in Economics from the American University in Cairo (AUC);
Over 20 years of experience in the fields of investment, asset manage-
ment, intergovernmental consulting, strategic planning, teaching and fi-
nancial consulting;
Founder/CEO of Mont-Blanc Asset Management S.A. (MAM), a Geneva-
based fully accredited independent asset management firm;

The UBIS Online Education Center (our Virtual Classroom) is designed to provide
students, working adults, and career-oriented individuals in professional devel-
opment, an interactive, worldwide academic community for learning, training,
and skills development. By delivering coursework directly to your computer,
learning becomes flexible and fits with your personal time and location con-
straints.
UBISs online faculty is ready to communicate with you concerning any inquiries
you may have, and is motivated to make your educational experience as stimulat-
ing and rewarding as possible.

The UBIS virtual campus was developed in response to the growing need for
classroom flexibility and distance education. This course of study allows
the student to take classes when he or she has the time and from any inter-

Program Outline:
To receive a Bachelor of Science in Finance with Major in Banking, students
must earn 120 semester credit hours that are equal to 40 courses, including a
capstone, over 30 months for full time students or over 42 months for part-time
students.

Undergraduate Admission Policies

First year undergraduate applicants must be able to provide UBIS with proof of
completion of secondary education equivalent to an American high school di-
ploma or 5 passing O levels in the British system.
As a rule, UBIS only accepts grades of C or higher for transfer credits for under-
graduate studies.

Undergraduate applicants should submit the following materials to register for
admission:
A completed and signed Application Form
A non-refundable application fee of 100 CHF
Original language and certified copy, in English, of official high
school/secondary school transcript along with grade point average
Original language and certified copy, in English, of students high
school/secondary school diploma if already issued, if pending, a letter
from the school stating the student is in good standing and the expected
date of graduation
Official English proficiency test score (unless native English speaker).
Personal statement detailing why you wish to attend UBIS for your un-
dergraduate studies.
Curriculum Vitae detailing educational and professional experience.
Photocopy of the identity page(s) of personal passport and Swiss permit
if the student has one
Proof of Medical Insurance valid in and equal to Swiss Medical Insurance
as required by Swiss (if on ground student)
Bank Statement showing at least CHF 9000 or equivalent (if on ground
student in need of visa)
