Assistant Chief Engineer

We are seeking an Assistant Chief Engineer who will be the right hand to the Chief Engineer to set and
maintain the maintenance standards of the resort and achieving a smooth operation of the department. The
ideal candidate will have the following experience:-

Conducting walk-throughs and visually assessing the safe and efficient maintenance and operation of
physical structure of the hotel, all mechanical, electrical, carpentry & painting, power plant, water
plant, STP, HVAC systems and any other related equipment.
To emphasize on reactive and proactive maintenance to rooms, public areas and back of the house.
Ensuring all projects, including, but not limited to routine maintenance, repairs, replacement and
renovation projects, are completed on time and according to specifications.
Maintaining effective Energy Management and Preventive Maintenance programs and conducting
special training for other operating departments on the safe and efficient use of equipment and
energy in the hotel.
Working closely with other departments to ensure coordination of maintenance activities
Supervising Engineering associates including hiring, training, evaluations, development and
disciplining.
Responding to guest requests in a timely, professional and friendly manner to help ensure that we are
meeting or exceeding guest expectations.
Maintaining a safe working environment throughout the resort for all associates, enforcing safety
guidelines and building awareness about safety.
Ensuring that there is an adequate inventory of parts, supplies, tools and materials available through
effective ordering.
Managing expenses within approved budget guidelines.
Assessing critical repairs and facilitating an immediate and cost effective response.
Implementing and managing procedures and practices that ensure quality assurance for work
performed by hotel maintenance teams.





Ideal Candidates:
A minimum of 2 years of experience in luxury resorts in a similar role
Possess Degree in mechanical or electrical engineering or equivalent and with at least five years of
experience in a similar role within the hospitality industry.
Good command of written and spoken English is essential.
Ability to find fault and rectify subsystems.
Must be computer literate and able to generate meaningful statistical data and reports.
Must possess good knowledge in power plant, R.O Plant, electrical, mechanical, FLS, HVAC, kitchen &
laundry and carpentry / finisher.
Ability to work independently, possess high energy, be dynamic and resourceful.
Good communication skills and strong people management/development.
Preferably with resort/remote island experience is essential.
Willing to travel in single.


Senior Mechanic

A minimum of 2 years of experience in luxury resorts in a similar role
