FALLACIES

Some of the student that learns about critical thinking must dont know what fallacies
are. So, for my opinion, fallacies are imperfection arguments in some argument that we can
found in in the article and it is hard to evaluate whether an argument is fallacies.

The article that I want to share with u is about Sports generally keep kids out of trouble.
So for my opinion, this article is about the kids or teenager can play sports in their routine days
to keep them out of problem that they had such as stress, fight with friends or discipline problem
in their classes. Furthermore, if student, kid or teenager that plays sports, they can more easer
to catch up what their teacher in teach them in the class. The authors who write this article are
Vince DAdamo. He is Trolley driver at Beau Wine Tours & Limousine Service and also Sports
reporter/photographer at Napa Valley Publishing. In Vince past, he was a Bus Driver at Springs
of Napa Retirement Community, Bus Operator at MV Transportation and Contribution reporter
at Silver & Black Illustrated. He finished his studies at University of Nebraska and Modesto
Junior College.

In the article that writes by Vince DAdamo, there is several imperfection arguments or
other name is fallacies that can be found. The first fallacy is Slippery Sloper. Slippery slope is
a person asserts that some event must inevitably follow from another without any argument for
the event in question. Examples that can be found in this article are premise,Theres the
traditional family where a kid has a mother and father, some a little more happily together than
others. Conclusion, Through it all, sports are like a sanctuary for some and keep many of
trouble. We can see that the premise is not having enough support to support the conclusion
and it make confusion to those who read it.

Second fallacy in this article is Missing the Point. Missing the point is the premise of an
argument does support a particular conclusion but not the conclusion that the argument actually
draws. Example for missing the point in this article is Within the past month, however, I
happened across a story online where a former football player from Steubenville High School
(Steubenville, Ohio) was released from juvenile detention center one year after being convicted
of raping 16 years-old-girl following an alcohol fueled party. In this situation, we can conclude
that the premise 2 is missing the point and not relate to the conclusion given.

Next fallacy that can be found in this is Hasty Generalisation. Hasty generalization is
making assumption abut a whole group or range of cases based on sample that inadequate.
Stereotype about person are a common example of the principle underlying hasty
generalization. Example of hasty generalization in this article is Play football also healthy. It
are stereotype of person that think play football also healthy if we dont play the sports.

Fourth fallacy that can be found in this article is Post Hoc. Post hoc is know as after
this, therefore because of this or assuming that because B comes after A, A caused B.
( A B). Example of this fallacy is While athlete are not for everyone, they keeps kids out of
trouble by teaching them discipline and life skills that they will need as an adult such as
leadership and trust abilities. Conclusion, Those skills, in turn, help them interact with people
and teach discipline by having them pass their classes and stay out of trouble. So if we keep
teaching the kids with discipline and life skills they will stay out of trouble.

Last fallacy in this article is Weak Analogy. Weak analogy is many arguments rely on
and analogy between two or more objects, ideas, or situations. If two things that being
compared, arent really alike in the relevant respects. Example of this fallacy is Those skills, in
turn, help them interact with people and teach discipline by having them pass their classes and
stay out of trouble and Through tough love it teaches discipline as well if you do what you are
asked academically. In this situation, the arguments are difference but the main point of the
statements is the same.
Moreover, I want to make suggestion to the author that, he can minimize the
imperfection mistakes in their article. Besides that, the author also can use easy English
language because most of the reader that read about this article are teenager and parents. It
will help them more understands.
As the summary of this, Vince DAdamo is a good author cause it helps many people
outside there that they dont know the benefit of doing the sports for the kid and teenager from
doing a bad activities in their leisure time, and also the adults can play sport to make their life
more healthy and productive.
