Cameroon Christan Medical Associaton
Editorial
Our generation is in need of
a people who can stand up and
take the challenge to bring the
change that we all need. With
the current challenges facing our
nation, particularly in the
health sector, there is a need for
a change. There is a need for a
breed of health professionals
who's first motivation will be the
satisfaction and complete well
being of their patients and not
their pockets. The nation yet
awaits such a people. With brib-
ery, corruption and embezzle-
ment in the order of the day we
can only but pray for a new gen-
eration.
The expected new generation is that which has to be unique and
peculiar to show themselves different. This is a generation that will
make the difference, empowered by the Spirit of God, motivated by
unconditional love, ready to serve God through their profession of
medicine. As David in the old whom the bible records that he served
his generation by the will of God, the Cameroon Christian Medical As-
sociation (CCMA) is an association motivated to serve Cameroon. Our
passion is to see holistic revival in the health sector. This revival will
not only bring eternal life to the dying generation but will bring an
increase in the standard of life of our fellow citizens.
We believe in a future of hope. We see a God doing a new thing in
the medical corps of Cameroon. From the students in different Bible
Clubs in the different schools of training scattered over the nation, to
those already working in the field, God is gathering for himself a
Joshua generation.
As you go through this piece of work produced by
the students of the Bible Club of the Faculty of Medi-
cine and Biomedical Sciences who form part of the na-
tional Cameroon Christian Health Science Association
(CAMCHESSAthe student body of the CCMA) we
pray that this will raise up a burden in you to pray for
us and pray for our beloved nation.
God bless you as you read.

Interview with our mother Pr Mbanya Dora
BBC: How did you become the Mother of the Bible Club FMBS,
which gave birth to CCMA under your care? What is your mo-
tvaton today?
MD: Several years ago, I was very excited when I realized a
Bible Club had been created in the FMBS. In our student days,
there were no such clubs then in CUSS; it might have made a
huge diference to the lives of many then, as it does today. I
was invited to atend one of the Bible Clubs welcome event
for the incoming frst years at the tme. I was so impressed
and became very interested in their actvites. I have since then
been a part of the group in my own small but whole-hearted
ways both in prayers and otherwise. Personally, it has been a
blessing over the years to see the annual products of the Bible
Club, God-fearing young men and women serving the Lord.
The Bible teaches in Ecclesiastes 12:1 to remember to serve
the Lord in the days of your youth before the dismal days
come..., and that is a real motvaton to me, to see young
people eagerly serving the Lord under not-too-favourable con-
ditons.
BBC: Medical students face many challenges. Are they similar
to challenges faced by Professors, Especially when Christans?
(Medical and then spiritual).
MD: Medically speaking, as a professional woman, I have var-
ious challenges: Medicine is in itself a very demanding profes-
sion you can guarantee when you go into hospital but never
when you get out; you are called up at odd hours to save life;
you must read regularly to keep pace with the latest develop-
ments in your feld especially because, besides improving pa-
tent-care, you need to transfer some of it to your students
during ward rounds and other actvites in the hospital. In ad-
diton, as a lecturer and professor these updates are indispen-
sable for preparing lectures, conferences and symposia, both
locally and internatonally. I also need to carry out research
and share the fndings through the writng of publicatons and
presentatons at other forums. Furthermore, I need to be able
to follow up students and supervise their initaton into re-
search besides other things. I can assure you that to achieve
these efciently is very challenging. To add to these profes-
sional challenges, I am a wife and a mother, both full-tme
actvites in their own right. It can only be Gods grace and fa-
vour that sees anyone through these demands successfully.
Thus, spiritually speaking, I have
depended on that grace and fa-
vour for survival. Without Jesus
Christ as my co-pilot, I could never
start boastng of any achieve-
ments, and I thank Him for His
guiding presence in my life. Of
course, as Christans, there are
bound to be challenges, whether a
professor or a student. The Bible
says in I Peter 5:8 that Your ad-
versary, the devil, prowls around
like a roaring lion, looking for
someone to devour. Thus, the
enemy is always around to make
life a litle more difcult and com-
plicated. The enemy uses even our
closest colleagues, friends and
family; he uses our bosses, our
subordinates and our students as
source of various trials and chal-
lenges in our daily lives and actvi-
tes. But we are assured by Isaiah
43: 1-4 that as Christans and be-
lievers in Jesus Christ, we are re-
deemed and summoned by name,
and that whatever difcultes we
may pass through (waters, rivers,
fre) He will be with us. This and
other assurances from the Holy
Bible keep me going through vari-
ous challenges in both my profes-
sional and spiritual life.

BBC: We know our dads, your husbands, support to you and vice
versa has been enormous. What do you say about it? (Please we need
answers from both of you if possible). Here we want to learn about
oneness since you people are a perfect example.
MD: Yes, I have been blessed with a wonderful, loving, caring and sup-
portve husband who also fears the Lord. This unity and love between
us has helped me grow professionally and spiritually and I always
thank God for him in my life. Marriage is not an easy relatonship be-
cause two individuals, strangers, have to share everything from roof,
bed, toilet to all. Thus, we need to love, accept and tolerate each oth-
ers strong and weak points; we need to dialogue and communicate
well with each other etc. etc. But most importantly, we have under-
stood the need to have Jesus Christ at the centre of everything we do,
and this keeps us going. Today, I can say my husband is my brother,
my friend and my daddy.
Daddy: Communicaton is the key to good partnership and relaton-
ship. In additon, the ability to trust and confde in each other and to
work as a team is a perfect recipe for a successful relatonship as long
as Christ is at the core.
BBC: What word of wisdom do have for the Girls or Mothers to be?
MD: The female gender on the whole is a specially designed group by
the Creator: women are tender, gentle, delicate and tenacious. A
Christan girl or woman should be more so. God created us and gave
us a special role in assistng the man to achieve his God-given mission,
whether as a sister, a wife or a mother. You should seek to achieve
this mission honourably, respectably and submissively, while letng
God be your help. Do not atempt to usurp what God did not atribute
to you.
BBC: To the Boys or Fathers to be answer (from our Dad if possible)
MD: Christ should be the foundaton of everything they do, from their
educaton through the choice of a partner and sharing life together
with the spouse. A change in your social status should not afect who
you are because that change is a blessing from God and not necessari-
ly their own hard work.
BBC: To the Leaders of the Bible Club (It should concerns both spiritu-
al and secular leadership).
MD: A leader is a person who guides and directs a group; he is an ad-
ministrator, a manager and a steward at the same tme. Thus, a lead-
er needs to have a vision of where he/she wants to take the group to,
how he/she intends to do it and with what players and tools. A leader
of the Bible Club indicates that it is not just any leader, but a leader
according to Gods standards; a servant. According to Pat Williams,
the seven ingredients for outstanding leadership include: vision, com-
municaton, people skills, character (I will emphasize integrity with
that), competence, boldness and a serving heart. In Luke 22:24-27 and
Mathew 20:25 28, Christ is clearly explaining the diference be-
tween worldly and godly leaders. As leaders, you are not seeking for
mans approval but Gods.
There are lots of distractons in our environment that could lead
to compromise, but you must be focused at all tmes. Wisdom is
indispensable for godly leadership, and the Bible teaches in James
1:5 that if anyone lacks wisdom, he should ask God who gives
generously.
BBC: To all your children.
MD: Whatever you do, make Jesus Christ your co-pilot; He will
wheel you in the right directons, and youd have made fewer mis-
takes by the tme you are older. Many regret a lot of things later
in life, when it is too late to get second chances over those things.
But start with Christ in your youth and persist with Him, and your
success will be total.
BBC: Please say something about Church Doctrines because it is a
major issue in non-denominatonal gatherings today.
MD: Hmmm, this is a hard one; I am not sure of what I should be
saying here. But when we talk of doctrines, we are referring to a
body of teachings or instructons of a group (religious group in
the case of the church) generally accepted by that group. The
Church in its strict sense is referring to the Body of Christ, const-
tuted of believers of diferent denominatons. From that perspec-
tve, the Doctrines of the Body of Christ are based on the Holy
Scriptures, which as 2 Tim 3:15-16 say were inspired by God and
is proftable for teaching, for reproof, for correcton and for in-
structon in righteousness". Henceforth, any deviatons are not of
God. The Churchs doctrines would include: believing in the Holy
Trinity - God is three in one (Father, Son and Holy Spirit); the in-
carnaton of Jesus Christ becoming man, born of a woman
(2John7), conceived through the Holy Spirit, hence has both a di-
vine and human nature ; His death for mans redempton and
salvaton; His resurrecton (overcoming the power of death, a
triumph of victory and hope for all believers) ; His ascension to
Gods right hand where He intercedes for us, and has every
authority (Philippians 2:9-11) and His holy presence which con-
tnues His work today in the world (Holy Spirit). The basic foun-
daton of Christanity laid in Hebrews 6:1-3 consttute part of the
Churchs doctrines renouncing dead works (repentance), believ-
ing in God (faith), baptsm, laying of hands and the resurrecton of
the dead and eternal judgement. Thus, the noton of heaven and
hell are real to the Church. Unfortunately, today there is so much
division amongst Gods children and the Church today seems to
have segments and fragments. Some have even monopolized and
owned portons of the Church (some speak of my church).
Hence you fnd diferent doctrines in diferent denominatons,
some of which are contrary to the scriptures. But as Paul rightly
warned in 2 Timothy 3: 1-5, these things must happen in the last
days, but Christans, Gods children, members of His Church
should keep away from these.
BBC: Thank you mum.

Interview with our Mentor Dr Loni Gabriel
THE EXPERIENCES OF GODS FAITHFULNESS IN THE FIELD
The lord has really been faithful and has shown me much favor as
far as feld work is concerned. Sometmes you really want to be a
good practtoner but going to the extremes of your practce is be-
yond your eforts. Thus I thank God, for helping me get to the ex-
tremes ; you have to be ready to serve even while starving, even
through sleepless nights, even at the detriment of your leisure tme.
Despite all the protocols to protect the practtoner, there are
cases of which he possibly can stll get infected. For example I cant
count the number of tmes that a needle has pieced me during sur-
gery, the number of tmes amniotc fuid has splashed on my body
soiling me completely. Even some dangers like receiving mothers with
their babies almost coming out such that you have but to catch the
baby from falling. In all these God has kept His promise of good-
health unto me.
Also as God promised His grace to follow us where ever we go, He
has been so faithful in this. He faithfully brings me in contact with my
vision facilitators - very strategic people. This is how he is taking me to
greater heights and achievements. Above all being in the world means
seeing and meetng with those of the world, but in this environment
God has given me favour among my stafs and wisdom to handle dif-
cult situatons and grace to grant a holistc care unto my patents-
which is the vision we all carry.
CHALLENGES THAT I FACE IN THE FIELD
It is very challenging out here; you have to work in hospitals which
are poorly equipped and having stafs that have litle enthusiasm to
do what they have to do. This has therefore led to many funny at-
tudes portrayed by these staf members.the number of staf members
is in itself less; you could have just 2 qualifed Nursing Aids in a District
hospital. Despite the staf being the way it is, the work load is heavy;
the staf per patent rato is very high thus very stressful. Afer taking
the normal work load you stll have the emergency situatons that
come in.
As a child of God you have to deal with corrupton whereby senior
stafs carryout funny actvites just for money. Even patents come up
to you asking for fake documents from you that shows that they are
very sick whereas they are fne. In all this you have to be strong and
stand your grounds
A WORD TO THE LEADERS
You are in the right place and doing the right things. Difcultes
and challenges are essental moments in a christains(leaders) life.
Faith that has not been tried through fre cannot be trusted.
Keep focusing on Jesus the author and fnisher of our faith. Al-
ways remember the ministry of consolidaton and shepherd that have

A WORD TO THE BIBLE CLUB
I will use Pauls words grow in the
grace of God. Do not let fear push your
hearts from the vision because you do not
have a spirit of fear nor tmidity. Persever-
ance ,stand strong, its a privilege to expe-
rience all what you are going through.
REMEMBER FAITH THAT IS NOT TESTED CANNOT BE TRUSTED.

INCREASE IN THE INTAKE OF MEDICAL STUDENTS AND ITS NEW
CHALLENGES
Before 1960, there was no medical school in Cameroon, so the
sick Cameroonians were taken care of by missionaries. Afer inde-
pendence, many of these missionaries lef Cameroon but the dis-
eases that were afectng Cameroonians did not leave with them
but kept on increasing owing also to the increase populaton.
Thus, this lead to a great need of medical doctors; especially
those of Cameroonian natonality who knew the terrain and who
could adapt to harsh conditons.
Before 1970, under Pr Gotlieb Monekosso and late Pr Anomah
Ngu the U.N.O. created the frst medical school in Cameroon, the
then Faculty of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences (ex-CUSS), asso-
ciated with the University Teaching Hospital where the clinical
practce was done. The school started-of with 35 students. This
number kept on increasing untl today the school recruits 350 stu-
dents per year( 250 in general medicine, 50 in Dental Surgery, 50
in Pharmacy). This increase did not end in FMBS, but spread over
the natonal territory untl today, we have more than 12 Medical
schools in Cameroon. An increase in intake was a very good inita-
tve by the Government, but this took place without an increase in
hospitals for the training of this students.
About 10years ago, students of FMBS were the only ones train
at CHU, Centre hospital, General hospital and The Gynaeco-
Obstetric and Paediatric Hospital Yaounde. So the quality of train-
ing could be well guaranteed, even when students from UDM lat-
er added, this did not stll pose a major problem but with the in-
crease in intake in FMBS, coupled with UDM, ISTM, etc, the situa-
ton has become really difcult. In the past, a single student could
be incharge of at least 5 patents where he/she had maximum
exposure and during Call dutes, they were few students to many
patents. This is the reason for which most Doctors who lef in the
past are very good in clinical practce.

5
Today, during one internship alone the maximum number of patents
a student can have is atmost 3 and at tmes, there are even students
on stand-by, waitng for patents to get admited.
At tmes there are 2-3 students per patent meanwhile others do not
even have a patent especially late comers. Close follow-up by lectur-
ers has also become very difcult. Even during theoretcal lectures,
late comers usually do not even have the space on which to stand and
take notes, lazy students take advantage and of this and do not even
atend lectures and internships. During ward rounds, the students are
so many that if you are not following the lecturer closely, you may not
even enter the patents room due to limited space. Facebook and oth-
er internet communicaton sites have come up and so even in school,
out 10 students working on the internet about 8 are on Facebook,
some playing games etc while the remaining 2 are doing medical re-
search to improve themselves.
Therefore if you want to become a good medical Doctor, Dental
surgeon and Pharmacist, you need to develop a personal programme
and start doing voluntary internships during the holidays. Hardwork
and vigilance should be your driving force during lectures and intern-
ships. The intake of Medical and paramedical students has greatly
increased but you stll stand the chance of becoming the Best Doctor
in your generaton if you use your God given tme and energy properly

JESUS LIFE

MY LIFE ABOVE WAS FULL OF PRAISES AND LUXURY
LISTENING TO THE SWEET MELODY OF THE ANGELS
AS THEY SING HOLY, HOLY, HOLY
I KNEW NOT SORROW NOR PAIN
RICHES AND BEAUTY , I NEVER LACK
OH!! WHAT A LIFE I LEFT ABOVE FOR BELOW

THEN, I WAS BORN IN HUMAN NATURE
I LOVED PLAYING AS A KID
I LIVED WITH HUMAN DESIRES
THUS, I WAS TEMPTED TOO
I HAD THE CHOICE TO OBEY OR NOT
YOU SEE I FELT LIKE YOU MY FRIEND .

I CHOSE TO LIVE AMONG THE UNHOLY
I CHOSE TO SUFFER ALL FOR YOU
I CHOSE TO COME TO RESPECT HUMAN AUTHORITY
I CHOSE TO BECOME SIN TO SAVE SINNERS
I CHOSE TO COME AND BE THE SHEPHERD FOR THE FLOCK
A FLOCK THAT WAS GREEDY, WICKED ACCORDING TO THEIR FLESH
YOU SEE I HAD THE CHOICE NOT TO DO THIS

LISTEN!! WHEN YOU TAKE LIGHTLY WHAT I HAVE DONE
I LOVED YOU TOO MUCH TO DIE WITHOUT COMPLAINING
THE PAIN AND ALL THE TEARS OF PAIN WAS FOR YOU
THEY WHOM I CREATED FLOCKED, MOCKED AND HUMILIATED ME
THEY MOCKED ME BY MY EVERY WORD-WHICH IS GODS POWER
IT WASNOT EASY BUT FOR LOVE, I DID IT AS FAR AS I HAD TO
ALL THIS WAS FOR YOU TO BECOME RIGHTEOUS AND LINKED TO
GOD AGAIN
SO,WHAT DO YOU THINK YOU OWE ME? THEN DO IT SINCERELY!!

JESUS PAID MY DEBT
Jesus paid the debt the debt I owed
A debt I could not pay
It was only by his merciful grace
that for me there is a way

I was born in sin
Inherited from Adam and Eve
The only way to have my sins paid
Was to accept Jesus Christ and receive him

He came to pay for our sins
At such an awful and heavy cost
They put a crown of thorns on his head
And nailed him to the cross

While he was dying in pain and agony
People watched with questoning eyes and mockery
Some said he saved others why doesnt he come down from there
But Jesus stayed on that cruel cross

For he was hanging there
Sufering for you and for me
Jesus stayed on the cross
So that our debt might be paid

Then he cried IT IS FINISHED
Indeed the debt was paid in full that day
Dear readers indeed it is fnished

GODS UNLIMITED LOVE
(Rom 8:38-39)
For I am convinced that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor
heavenly rulers, nor things that are present, nor things to come,
nor powers, nor height, nor depth, nor anything else in creation
will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our
Lord. [NET]

How unmeasurable is Gods love for us, far beyond our
human knowledge.
All of us know about Christs love for us but few people
know that they can never be separated from Jesus Christs love.
This is where the devil strikes and deceive many by making them
think they have come short of Gods glory when they fall. This
decepton comes because they have not really known how much
God loves them. This love is not earned, please!!! It is given by
grace. Whenever you fall do not let the devil say a thing to you
immediately rise and keep looking at your focus. If Jesus focusing
to get to his crucifxion site fell thrice and without thinking He
woke up and contnued then, you his follower because you fell,
you want to instead turn and go back. But in such circumstances,
say to yourself I am not suppose to make mistakes because I have
Gods perfect Spirit in me but because my anxiety took me here, I
am stll loved and forgiven by grace not by my works. The bible
says not even demons can separate us from Gods love but of
course we all know that demons will never dare ask God to stop
loving us. So why is this important, this is because since the devil
stands no chance of stopping Gods love to you, he can manupi-
late you through your ignorance. He does this by making people
think falling short of Gods glory is falling short of Gods love.
Then the bible says not even angels can separate us from
the love of God. It is important because we will tend to think that
because the angels are pure since they can stand the presence of
God and nothing unclean can get into Gods to worship him. But,
the holiness of the angels neither do their constant worship to
God makes Him to love you less. God has His love apportoned to
these angels so we arenot scrambling for His love. As much as He
has His love apportoned to the angels so too does He have that
for you. Thus, this porton of love for you can never be taken away
from you. As much as the pure angels of God cannot take His love
from us so too can the purest among us cannot take away his love
from the weakest. Many at tmes we think God loves the big men
of God more but it is not true. It is like a father who has a more
obedient son as compared to the others. If you are the father who
will you show more love to? So the diference comes in the
showing of this love; the father will always show much love to
the most obedient son not because he loves him most but because
he pleases him the most.
Further, neither heights nor depths can separate us from
the love of God. This means the mountain of failure or obstacles
or sin that stand on your path cannot impact on his love. But it is
beter to leave a holy life to please Him. Then, neither the valley
of joy I have reduces the love of God for me. This is because the
love He has for you does not reduce with the more He gives you.
Oh!!! What a love He has for me. Loving me as I am, in all my
weaknesses He stll loves me abundantly. Always remember in
every situaton, everywhere, and every tme, that His love is un-
changeable despite who you are but He wishes us to be the best
in Him. You are loved and is appreciated by God!!!
7
Always remember that and do not care about what they who
despises you say. FOR YOU ARE WORTH THE LIFE OF HIS PRECIOUS
SON-JESUS CHRIST.
By Solange Neh

For god so loved
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten
Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have ev-
erlasting life. John 3:16 KJV.
God loves us more than we can fathom. I guess He loves us
more than we even love ourselves! Out of this love, He gave us His
son, Jesus Christ, that through Him we might be saved from Gods
wrath and access eternal life - intimacy with God forever (see John
17:3).
Once we were alienated from God and guilty of sin; So we
deserved Gods punishment. God so loved us that He hired Jesus to
be our advocate (lawyer) to plead for our cause.
My little children, these things write I unto you, that ye sin not.
And if any man sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ
the righteous: And he is the propitiation for our sins: and not for ours
only, but also for the sins of the whole world. 1John 2:1-2 KJV.
...but because Jesus lives for ever, he has a permanent priest-
hood. Therefore he is able to save completely those who come to God
through him, because he always lives to intercede for them.
Hebrews 7:24-25 NIV.
Lets view some points about this our incredible advocate:

1. He is all righteous, and therefore represents us as perfect and
blameless before God the Father, who is the judge.

2. He is with the Father (on the side of the Father) and therefore we
are already favoured before the judge. God Himself hired Jesus to
defend us; so He wants us saved more than we ourselves do.
3. He lives forever, and therefore is always ready to intervene in our
case. He is the proof our righteousness, blamelessness, and guilt-
lessness before God forever.
4. He intercedes on our behalf. He stands the gap for us reminding
the Father ceaselessly that through Him we are righteous, we are
no longer condemned for He has paid the full price;
5. He saves all who come to Him. In other words, He never loses a
case! No matter your present situation or past history, He can still
work it out.
All this should make us realize how much the Father has us
in mind, yes, even you, dear reader. Just turn to Him and Hell see
your case through. Learn to live a guilt-free life with this conscious-
ness that you have the best lawyer of all times pleading in your fa-
vour Jesus Christ the righteous!

THANK GOD FOR THE COMPUTER.
Comparing the early 20
TH
century and the
21
ST
century in the light of technology
seems to me as comparing darkness and light.Unlike before, using
the term illiteracy today, seems to be out of place because almost
everyone is concious and atleast has a bit of knowledge on basic
technological issues like managing computers. In medical schools
for example I doubt how one could cope without computers; con-
sidering the bulk of work that has to be covered in a limited tme
and the number of very expensive text books that are necessary.
It is alleviatng to realize that a computer saves you from the
costs of text books, energy that is involved in copying notes and
many other study related expenses.
However, to many medical students, managing their
computers seem to increase the expenditures and the stress that
the clogged up nature of studies exert. That sounds incredible.
Doesnt it?
To my fellow school mates, I propose these few practces
to be carried out on our machines at least once a week;
1. Dustng: Dust contains fne iron partcles which could con-
duct electricity( polytechnique students can testfy). These
partcles could cause short circuits on our mother board.
Cleaning our computers could save the cost of premature
repairs.
2. The use of energy stabilisers and back up devices is also of
primary importance especially where power supply is unsta-
ble. This could save our computers from the detrimental
efects of irregular voltages.
3. Disc cleaning: This acton fshes out all unused fles, shortcuts
etc from our computers. Cconsequently we gain space for
other important data.
4. Scan disc: Eliminates bad sectors that keep our computers
slow.
5. Defragmentaton: Data seems to be stored in a disordered
manner such that our hard disks are apparently full (like ir-
regular stones in a bucket). In an atempt to store more data,

There are several controversal ideologies about epilepsy.
While some consider it to be a taboo, others think it is associated
with some witchcraft practices. The Bible mentions a case of epilep-
sy in Matthew 15:17 which was actually caused by a demon, and
Jesus healed the boy.
Bearing in mind that every disease (including epilepsy) are
actually curses, which we have been freed from by Jesus (See Gala-
tians 3:13, Isaiah 53:4-5), we will nevertheless analyse epilepsy from
a scientifc point of view, with its mechanisms and clinical manifes-
tations.
Epilepsy is a disease consisting of repetitive seizures. An
isolated seizure (due to hyperthermia in children, metabolic disor-
ders, head trauma) does not therefore constitute the disease. The
underlying cause is generally of cerebral origin, due to a population
of hyperexcitable neurons discharging excessive nervous impulses
in a synchronous (simultaneous) manner. This abnormally high sig-
nal on the brain results in manifestations on the rest of the body,
depending on what part of the brain is stimulated.
The mechanisms underlying this hyperexcitation are di-
verse. It may be due to a dysfunction of the Sodium-potassium
channels on the neurons, an increase in the excitatory neurotrans-
mitters (aspartate, glutamate) and/or a decrease in the inhibitory
neurotransmitters (GABA). Certain drugs (eg: anti-depressants) can
also induce epilepsy.
The clinical presentation of the disease depends on the
area of the brain that is afected. Signs are diverse, ranging from
sensory disorders (hallucinations, auditory, gustatory, et olfactory
disorders) to absence seizures (brief loss of contact with the envi-
ronment, without a fall or recall of the event) and may even attain
the state of tonico-clonic convulsions (sudden involuntary contrac-
tion of skeletal muscles). Diagnosis is confrmed by an electroen-
cephalogram (EEG).
These crises may involve just part of the brain (partial sei-
zures) or the whole brain (generalized seizures). Whatever the
case, there are always risks of brain lesions, and at times extra cere-
bral lesions (due to a fall, trauma, etc) all depending on the type,
extent, and duration of the seizure.
Treatment of this condition is by the use of appropriate
antiepileptic drugs, carefully administered and following the correct
protocol. Some antiepileptic drugs include: diazepam, phenobarbi-
tal, valproate, carbamazepine, vigabatrine, lamotrigine, etc.
Appropriate frst aid in the event of a seizure involve sim-
ple, but life-saving gesture: clearing the space around the patient,
removing tight ftting clothing (tie, belt), protecting his head
(pillow), lying him on his side to avoid choking while swallowing
saliva, and contact qualifed health personnel.

Do not put anything in the patients mouth (spoon,
drug, water) and do not hinder his movement. Above all , you
can lay hands and release the power in you as the master did in
the scripture above.

Considering all the tissues and cells in
your body, 25 million new cells are being

human beings on the surface of the earth.
The surface area of a human lung is equal

HOW TO MAKE YOUR FRIENDS
FEEL LOVED
The life of a human being is a sociable life thus humans must
always interact with their fellow humans. But it becomes a problem
when you as a human keep making friends and losing them. This art-
cle contains 5 basics on how to maintain your friendship, there are so
many other possible approaches but this will go a long way to help
you. These basics are:
1. Make them feel special: if you have a friend and you never tell
them how important they are to you, you are losing it. That is one of
the slowest but surest way in which you start losing them. This is be-
cause they will always prefer someone who can fll in this gap for
them. This sensaton of feeling special is supposed to be felt by your
friend at the beginning of the friendship because if you start this later
your friend might just think you are trying to be a hypocrite. All the
same, it is never too late to do this but if you have to do this at a later
stage give some explanaton to your friend.
2. Try as much as possible to respect their emotons: If your friend is
hot-tempered then always respect the moments when they get as
such. Do not shout at them when they get as such. It is important to
know that there is more to respectng peoples emotons than loving
them. If you say you love someone and you just have no understand-
ing among yourselves then your love is not complete ie
love=understanding + admiraton. This means without understanding
you can tell what kind of love you have for your friend.
3. Appreciate them: It is very important to appreciate people when
they try to please you. When you do not feel nor see peoples eforts
to make you happy, you frustrate them worst. In other words it would
have been beter never to have thought of caring so much about you
because the answer they always feel is Im not satsfed. Beware this
attude kills the hero in people. Please if your friend never appreci-
ates your sacrifces pause doing them. This is important when you
start trying to impress or show your love for a friend by making them
see from your acton, many at tmes you always end up really hurt.
4. Praise their strengths: Where you know your friend is good, always
strengthen them by praising these good sides. Always be the friend
that strengthens your friend, you can do this by learning to appreciate
them ofen in sincerity. Humans always have weaknesses but let it not
always be your focus, do this once in a while but praise them ofen.
Humans have a beter strength within them when they know some-
one believes in them. If you love your friend you need to always make
them feel comfortable in themselves.
5. Learn to keep memories of your friendship: This means always re-
call and speak some of the special moments in your friendship among
yourselves. This will always cause you people to want to live in your
friendship some more so as to make more memories together.

This will leave each one of you trying to do his best to make the
friendship work.
For more on keeping memories, some of the most important
things to know is to know all the people they talk about ie people
relatng to their lives but not necessarily retaining all the stories
they tell. This will make them know you truly care because every
tme they try to identfy to you a person they had once spoken
about to you, you just step in by recognizing the person and tell-
ing a story that relates to that person. This makes them know
that you listen to them sincerely each tme they talk.

THE WOMAN WITH A DIFFERENCE
Our world has women, oh yes billions of them
Scatered all over the globe
Some are rich and others poor
Some are educated and others uneducated
We have the strong and the weak
The black and the white, and why not
The good and the bad
But there is a woman
She is special and unique, ah, she is a role model
She is a mother to all even when science says she has none
A tree that brings forth fruits of solutons,
The symbol of peace and unity,
A weapon against hatred and disunity
She does not get jealous and appreciates what is good
Like Esther, she is concerned about the safety of the others
Like Hannah, she keeps to her promise,
Unlike Jezebel and Saphira she has a positve infuence in her home
Unlike Potphars wife, she knows that her body is the temple of God
Oh this woman, how negatve the world sees her to be
Because of her humility, the world says she is weak
Because of her hardwork, the world says she is a slave
I thank God because she is not moved by such words
She says if the world calls me names and God praises me saying I
am the best, then I rejoice
This woman with a diference is the virtuous woman
She is wonderful, ladies lets imitate her.

JUST A SMILE
The word smile is very common, at a menton of it everyone assumes he or she knows what smiling is all about. What I
am about to ask you is Do you really know what a smile is all about? Many of you will answer yes if not with your mouth with you
mind and some few will have doubts, well sorry for keeping the suspense too long I will like to teach you about A SMILE.
A smile is defne as A facial expression characterized by turning up the corners of the mouth; usually showing pleasure or
amusement and people smile by a change of one's facial expression by spreading the lips, ofen to signal pleasure. Many among
you guys smile almost all the tme but I ask do you know the impact that smile has on your entourage and on you as an individual?
Well, these are ten goodies about smiling.
1. Smiling makes you atractve: knowingly or unknowingly we are drawn to people, who smile, smiling is an atracton factor. The
Human being is always curious so will want to know a smiling person and work out why the person is happy. When you frown,
scowls or grimace you push people away.
2. Smiling changes your mood: Whenever you are feeling down, try hard to put on a smile. The chances for your mood changing are
very high. Smiling can trick your body in to helping you change your mood. ALL IZZ WELL
3. Smiling is contagious: Everyone brings light into a room some when they get out and others when they get in, you guys should
know where to ft a smiling lady. She changes the mood of others and makes things happier.
4. Smiling relieves stress: Stress can really show up in your faces, but smiling help prevent you from looking tred, worn down and
overwhelmed. When stress knocks at your door, take tme to smile and the stress will either reduce its knocking rates or stop knock-
ing.
5. Smiling boost your immune system: Smiling helps the immune to work beter. When you smile, immune functon improves possi-
bly because you are more relaxed. So my dear ladies smile so as to keep the cough and catarrh out of your system.
6. Smiling lowers your blood pressure: When you smile, there is measurable reducton in your blood pressure.
7. Smiling releases endorphin, natural pain killers and serotonin: Studies have shown that smiling releases endorphin, natural pain-
killers, and serotonin. Together these three make us feel good. Smiling is a natural drug. So my dear ladies you could prescribe smil-
ing to your patents in the sure and nearest future
8. Smiling lif you face and make you look younger: The muscles we use for smiling lif the face, making a person appear younger.
Dont go for surgery, just smile your way through the day and youll look younger and feel beter.
9. Smiling makes you look successful: Some people have succeeded in life but they appear as though success hates them. My dear
ladies you are success so smile so the whole world knows success is yours.
10. A smile helps you stay positve: Every tme something negatve comes your way, try a smile and your body knows life is good.
Stay away from depression, stress and worry by just smiling.
Smiling sends diferent messages depending on the present situaton.
In the presence of hatred it says love, war-peace, failure-success, sadness-happiness, sickness- health, etc.
Some say smiling makes them look weak; Well to those I say:
ONE SMILE GIVES A THOUSAND HAPPINESS. JUST A SMILE CAN CHANGE THE WORLD AROUND YOU!

Ten reasons for Getng Married

1. Because it is Gods will.
If God is calling you to marry, He wants to join you to someone with
whom you can build a strong, godly home flled with love and grace
a home that exalts Jesus Christ as Lord.

2. Expressing Gods love to the other person.
Marriage is a physical picture of the spiritual union and love that exist
among the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. It also depicts the love
of God for His people and Christs love for His Church.

3. Expressing personal love for the other person.
Healthy marital love involves the proper blending of the various types
and degrees of love.
First is agape, the unconditonal love of God that gives birth to all
other forms. Marriage should also be an expression of personal love
between the husband and wife, a desire to show a level of esteem
and regard toward each other that they show toward no one else.
Marital love includes the element of phileo, a Greek concept of
love best understood as tender afecton. Husbands and wives
should be tender and afectonate toward each other.
A marriage relatonship is also characterized by eros, which is phys-
ical, or sexual love.
These expressions of personal love are healthy reasons for marriage,
but they need to be properly founded on the unconditonal agape
love that comes from God.

4. To fulfll sexual needs and desires in a godly way.
Marriage is the God-ordained vehicle for fulflling God-given sexual
desire.
5. The desire to begin a family.
6. Companionship.
A husband should be his wifes best friend and companion, and a
wife, her husbands.
7. To share all things together with the other person.
There is a lot of truth in the old saying that when we share our sor-
row, our sorrow is halved, and when we share our joy, our joy is dou-
bled.
8. To work together to fulfll each others needs.
9. To maximize each persons potental.
The bounds of the marital union provide an ideal environment in
which husbands and wives can strive to express their fullest personal,
spiritual, and professional potental.
10. Enhancement of spiritual growth.

As you can read from the artcle above, Marriage is the will
of God, yet its something not to rush into. We would like to encour-
age you take tme and build up your life so as to prepare for this sa-
cred ministry. Ensure that you are spiritually mature, physically and
emotonally mature before you get to think of marriage. Above all,
the Bible says in the multtude of counsel there is security, so make
sure you do everything under the supervision of your spiritual leader.

MONEY
The school of economics
Has defned money to be
Anything that is generally accepted
For the exchange of goods and services.
No doubt in our home, streets and what have we
One can hear some say
Money is good all the tmes
And all the tmes money is good
Instead of
God is good all the tmes and all the tmes God is good.
It is true that money is good
Yes all of us hear use money every day to realize projects
And to do many other things
The point is, is money good all the tmes as people say?
Of course NO!
Money has its CANS and CANTS
Money is wealth but not health
Money can build a house but not a home
Money can get you lust not love
Money can get you friends but not friendship
Money can get you pleasure but not peace
Money can get you fame but not talent
Money can get you jobs but not talents
Money can get you the whole world but not life
Because of money
Judas betrayed Jesus
Ananias and Saphira lied and died
Josephs brothers sold him into slavery
Young ladies and gentlemen defle the temple of God through
immorality
Men and women of God sow seeds of disagreements with hatred
as fruit
Dear listener
Dont be deceived
The love of money is the root of all evil
Hear what the creator the Lord your God says:
Keep your life free from the love of money and be satsfed with
what you have, for he says I will never abandon you
If you are used to saying
Money is good all the tme and all the tme money is good
Join me in saying
God is good all the tme and all the tme God is good

The Five laws of gold
1. Gold cometh gladly and in increasing quantty to any man who will
put by not less than one tenth of his earnings to create an estate for
his future and that of his family.
2. Gold laboureth diligently and contentedly for the wise owner who
fnds for it proftable employment, multplying even as the focks of
the feld.
3. Gold clingeth to the protecton of the cautous owner who invests it
under the advice of men wise in its handling.
4. Gold slippeth away from the man who invests it in businesses or
purpose s with which he is not familiar or which are not approved by
those skilled in its keep.
5. Gold fees from the man who would force it to impossible earnings
or who followeth the alluring advice of tricksters and schemers or
who trusts it to his own inexperience and romantc desires in invest-
ment.
To him who is without the knowledge of the fve laws, gold
comes not ofen, and goeth away quickly. But to him who abide by the
fve laws, gold comes and works as his dutful slave.

Testimonies
I was so blessed
by the leadership program
in Bamenda ie the CAM-
CHESSA gathering. This program opened my eyes to leadership.
What I mean by this is that I learned on how to interact with my
leaders and as a leader I learned on how to treat and take care of
those under me. Most importantly I was touched by the part of
humility whereby we were taught to always humble ourselves to
go down on our knees for our leaders to bless us. These are basics
in the Christan life that are to be known. When you do not know
these you sufer unnecessarily. Thank God I had an opportunity
like this to learn this.

I was highly blessed by the program on the Holy
Spirit; the impartaton meetng. Despite learning so much on the
Holy Spirit I received a miracle of healing. I was healed from ill-
ness I had had for long. This was a great joy to me that really con-
frmed the teaching of the day on the Holy Spirit. Further, afer
learning on the Holy Spirit I was no longer scared as I used to be
because this meetng gave me a greater consciousness on the
Holy Spirit. Also because of this consciousness I can fow
beter with the Holy Spirit because I have so much consciousness
due to knowledge on Him.
