This module will attempt to give an exposure to the most important issues facing innovative start-
up companies. It will emphasize the role and importance of business opportunity identification
and assessment, business planning process and funding issues. The module will also compare
and contrast entrepreneurial start-ups with large established companies.
O+tlie
The contents will be covered in eight sessions of two hours each. The course material will be
presented through a combination of lectures and discussions. Students are expected to read the
suggested material for each lecture and participate in the discussion. To impart experiential
learning, the assessment will involve business plan writing assignments which will encourage
students to assume roles of budding entrepreneurs.
