be developed.

1. BOOKS ARE CLOSED. T draws a


table on the board.
In one column she writes Slinky,
Popsicle, and Potato chips and on the
other column chef, engineer, and child. T
shows images of each thing and asks to
the children who invented them.
2. T asks to the ss to OPEN their books
and look at the text and pictures and
asks where can you see articles like this?
In group T and Ss discuss the use of the
internet to find information.
3. T asks them What can you expect to
find in this kind of article? T writes FACT
OR FICTION on the board and asks to ss
what kind of info they would expect to
find in these articles. T explains the
difference between fact and fiction.
Children find 3 facts in the first
sentence of popsicles article.
4. Read and listen to the articles. T asks
to ss Can you find the time words and
phrases? T plays the CD (1) Ss listen and
read. (2) They underline the time
phrases. T explains that time
words/phrases help to sequence and
organize events.
5. T asks can you guess the meaning of
any new words in the articles? How did
you guess? (*similar to their
language)
6. Ss talk about a great toy/any invention
and tell to the teacher when it was
invented.

Ss should read in
English the lesson

explain them what

ss write a question about machines or
inventions.
5. Ss listen and write the dates when the
things were invented. (1) Ss write the
date. (2) Ss check their answers.
Ss answer MY PROGRESS JOUNAL by
their own to show their progress to their
parents. T is a monitor and help ss in
case they dont understand something.
