Introduction

FACE-Fast Association of Civil Engineers is first ever society of Civil Engineering in FAST-
NUCES. Since its formation, this society has been working hard to advance the science & art
of information processing and polishing their technical and administrative skills. Creativity is
extremely important for our survival as a civilized progressive world and it has also been
used for millennia as a way of passing on and changing cultural norms and mind-sets.
Expression of creativity offers profound and lasting benefits for individuals, for societies and
for the global community as a whole. With its emphasis on critical thinking, effective
communication and teamwork, it teaches skills that serve individuals well in school, in the
workplace and in various societies. Once students have learned how to express themselves,
they are better able to critically examine the pronouncements of their surroundings.

Objectives

To provide a platform for Civil Engineering students to work and show their skills and
to increase interaction with other dept. students and also other universities.
Civil Engineering Students of NUCES Lahore are missing several Civil competition
that are held at different universities such as NUST, UET, Mehran University as they
cannot contact any student body of Civil Engineering students to participate.
Help organize different lectures, events, competition and conferences so that to
attract university students so that they can be encouraged and motivated.
To arrange study tours for the students. These tours on one hand provide excellent
opportunity to observe the real structures such as dams, cement or steel factories,
other construction sites. One the other hand, learning outside the classroom will help
the students to grasp the principal theories and concepts in civil engineering.
To ask different companies to help students to find a better job as well as internships.
Encourage Civilians to acquire management experience.

Proposed Major Events:

One day Study Tours to different Industries proposed in this Fall Semester. Initial
Arrangements have already been initiated.
Major Study tour visitation to major dams of Punjab in Spring Semester this year.
FACETIVAL-15 Our Major event which involves all major university of Pakistan
and will be amongst the major civil engineering event of Pakistan.
Seminars from different major successful Personalities of the Field.

Conclusion
Universities play a crucial role in grooming every individual who passes through them. This
grooming comes not only through education and interactions with the teachers but also through new
experiences. A very small fraction of people indulge in extra-curricular or co-curricular activities
throughout their time as students. As a result their skills and characters remained un-polished. It will
act as a platform for better grooming of the students of our university.
