Topic of the project: 1000 MT Multipurpose Cold Storage for Fruits,Vegtables and

Perishable Goods(Fish,Flowers etc)

Description: The company proposes to setup Multipurpose Cold Storage

with capacity of 1000 MT .The cold storage will provide
storage of various vegetables,fruits,flowers,fish etc. The
Company proposes to hire out the storage space to the farmers
and wholesalers who can use the storage facilities for their agro
products.

Mission statement: To provide proper storage facilities for

Fruits,Vegetables,Flowers and Fish.

 Overview of the marketing and sales:

Since The Company proposes to setup Multipurpose Cold Storage there is very little
requirement of marketing.

The sales of the commodities depends on the market prices of fruits n vegetables.Below is
given the prices of few commodities(in MT)

Competitive Advantage : The estimated annual production of fruits and vegetables in India
is about 130 Million Tonnes.After Green Revolution,Yellow
Revolution,Golden revolution in India the production is
gradually rising.The lack of Cold Storages is becoming major
bottleneck in tapping the potential.

Present availability of Cold storage capacity is only 104 lac tonnes.About 90% of
this is used in Potato storage.Hence, there is much scope in
storage of Vegetables,Fish and Fruits.

Financial projections and plans : Land to be acquired is 3 Bighas. The Projected Area of the
Multipurpose Cold Storage is 10,000 sq.ft(8 chambers
of 100 ft*100 ft*20ft).It will have an office building of
300 sq.ft. & an overhead water tank(1000 lts).A
Transformer(200 KVA) has to be installed.

The Projected Cost of the entire Project is 3.8 crores(including land

cost,building,machineries,transformer etc).

Even after paying the bank installments there are a Gross Profit of about 50 lackhs/year
