The Biblical Torah portion called Hukat (Number 19), begins by enumerating to us the
commandment of the Red Heifer sacrifice and the mysterious poers of ritual cleanliness and
uncleanliness that it bestoed! "hile many commentaries try to unra#el the baffling
contradictions that are apparent in this commandment, many more are resigned to the fact that
$ust ho the ashes of the Red Heifer make one person ritually unclean and yet another person
ritually clean is beyond their comprehension! They simply conclude that this commandment is hat
e call a Hok, an edict of the Torah hose rational intelligent e%planation eludes us!
&n my opinion, the fact that there is present information beyond our capacity to understand is not
an issue! 'noledge is e#er(groing! "hat e do not understand today, after further research e
ill understand tomorro! &s this not right) &s this not ho e think) *et, greater Torah +cholars
than e ha#e tried to unra#el this mystery of the Red Heifer and could not! "hy should e think
that e ill fare any better)
&s there not a limit to human intelligence) "hen it comes to the commandment of the Red Heifer,
ha#e e reached the limits of human intellectual understanding) &s there indeed such a limit or is
human intellectual understanding an open frontier ithout borders or limits) ,ltimately, humanity
must come to reali-e that it is impossible to grasp all the knoledge that there is to kno in the
uni#erse! ,nfortunately, in our present arrogant state of delusional aggrandi-ement, e may
ne#er come face to face ith our intellectual limitations that indeed do bind us and blind us from
seeing $ust ho small and limited our present thinking abilities really are!
Rather than ask hat it is that e do not understand, e should rather ask hy is it that e
cannot understand e#erything e ish! "hat is it that places limits on our abilities of
understanding) &n order to understand this, e must first place human intellect in its greater
conte%t!
.ne of the greatest e%pressions of human arrogance is that someho our rational intelligence is
the highest form knon and a#ailable for recei#ing and interpreting information! "e con#ince
oursel#es that if it/s out there, then e can find it, e can can study it and ultimately e can
understand it! "e belie#e that nothing is beyond our grasp! *et, such beliefs are nothing more
than illusions of grandeur! There are no and fore#er more ill be realities that human beings ill
ne#er be able to fathom and e#en many others of hich e ill ne#er percei#e e%isting! True,
human intellect has helped our species gro! *et, $ust because e ha#e an ad#antage o#er many
of the other species that e kno of here on our 0arth does not mean that hat e ha#e is the
best there is! This is the arrogance and unfortunately, all too many suffer from it!
"e may consider oursel#es all e ant to be masters of our orld and masters of our on fate!
*et, this belief is almost laughable! "e control ne%t to nothing on our planet! "e cannot e#en

control the physical bodies hich house our conscious minds! True, human intellect has disco#ered
aspirin and many other medications and e can indeed influence much more! But can e compare
that hich e can influence and control to that hich e cannot) 1an e compare that e do
understand to that hich e do not) 1ertainly, e cannot make any such comparisons! 2or the
little that e kno ith all our modern sciences is insignificant in comparison to that hich e do
not kno and hat e may ne#er kno! Human intellect has its limitations! This may be a sad
fact for some, but it is a definite fact nonetheless!
0#en more laughable is the arrogant idea that humanity is the most intelligent species! No one
here on 0arth can compare our species to the numerous other forms of life in the uni#erse! Rather
than try, the arrogant intellectuals blindly proclaims that there is no other intelligent life out
there, at least not like ours! They offer as proof for this alleged loneliness of ours in the uni#erse
that if there really ere e%traterrestrials out there, ith all the efforts e ha#e been making to
contact them, don/t you think e ould ha#e heard from somebody by no) This argument in and
of itself speaks of the arrogance and ignorance of those ho ould think it!
"hy ould e think that a species of higher intelligence and e%panded consciousness ould be
interested in contacting us) 3aybe there are those out there so ad#anced that in their eyes
humanity is nothing more than cattle or less, like insects! "hen as the last time our scientists
ent to an ant hill and tried to contact the orker ants) 0#en if such contact had been made,
ould the ants understand, or ould they e#en care! 4et/s turn this 5uestion around6 let/s say the
ants ant to contact us! Ho ould e recogni-e that the ants ere trying to speak to us! "ould
e e#en recogni-e their desire to speak ith us or their means of communication) +o much for the
enlightened and e%panded le#els of human intellect and consciousness! "e cannot e#en speak to
an ant or recogni-e their desire or lack of it to communicate ith us!
&f 0!T! (e%traterrestrials) actually did make contact ith us, either in recent or in ancient times,
ould e recogni-e the true nature of such a communication) &f 0!T! truly is of a higher species
than e are today, then ho ould they communicate ith us) Ho could they get their message
across to hat in their eyes is a species not too much more ad#anced than ants are in our eyes!
0!T! ould ha#e to find some bridge of communication that enabled them to speak to us and for us
to hear and comprehend! 'noing that our rational intellects are se#erely limited in the
communication department, 0!T! ould ha#e to choose a form of communication of a type
different from the standard rational approach that e might e%pect and be aiting for! +uch a
form of communication ould certainly make contact beteen our to radically different species,
but at the same time not face the limitations of the rational intellect!
&n order to accomplish this, 0!T! ould re5uire a decent understanding of ho human consciousness
operates! 3aybe 0!T! himself is a being of higher consciousness and therefore can understand
#ariant and multiple simultaneous streams of consciousness better than can e humans! 7fter all,
our human minds are split beteen the conscious and unconscious parts! There is a tremendous
part of our reality that is stored aay from our conscious minds in that cloudy and mysterious
place called the unconscious! No one can say for sure hat resides in the unconscious because it is
not conscious! 7nd in spite of hate#er attempts e make to e%plore unconscious content, e
alays come face to face ith the reality that the unconscious contains unreachable depths and
thus many unknon secrets!
No, maybe 0!T! suffers from no such split mind! 3aybe 0!T! has a fully integrated consciousness
containing e#erything that e kno, e#erything that e do not kno and maybe e#en many things
that e are, in our present state, incapable of knoing! &f 0!T! has these faculties then certainly
0!T! ould be able to communicate ith us at both the conscious and at the unconscious le#els!

3aybe this is so! 3aybe this has already happened! 3aybe hat e refer to as religious
re#elations from some place called Hea#en are actually a form of communication from 0!T!) 3aybe
0!T! are the angels referred to in religious literature! Then again, they may $ust as easily be the
demons religiously referred to! 3aybe angels and demons are actually 0!T!) Then again, e must
pause to ask oursel#es, hat are e e#en able to understand about the true nature of a real 0!T!)
7fter all, hat e kno about 0!T! or hat e think e kno about them comes almost entirely
from fictional portrayals in the entertainment media! 0#erything that e kno or think e kno
has been made up in someone/s imagination for the sole purpose of entertainment8 Ho close
could such fantasies be then to a truth so far beyond human imagination)
7ngels and 0!Ts!, is there a connection) 7nd if there is, ho ould e kno it) &f they are one and
the same, hat does that mean) 7re angels nothing more than 9little green men from 3ars,: or is
0!T! maybe a trans(dimensional entity outside the scope of being a life form as e understand and
define life) Religious literature throughout the centuries report #ast numbers of #isitations from
such trans(dimensional beings! 7re these then in fact 9close encounters of the third kind: or
maybe e#en the 9fourth: or 9fifth kind:) &f there indeed is such a connection, hat light does this
shed upon the supreme 0!T! encounter of the gi#ing of the Torah on 3t +inai)
Religious literature surely describes the e#ents of +inai in the most supernatural of ays! But do
e really understand hat happened at +inai) Torah +ages go to great length to describe the
bi-arre, mysterious nature of the moment! No one knos for sure e%actly hat happened beyond
the printed ord edition that records the e#ent! But hat really happened there) 7nd more so,
being that e ha#e a #ibrant li#ing remnant from that e%perience, $ust hat is this Torah from
Hea#en that e ha#e in our possession)
Human intellect and arrogance ants to proclaim mastery and knoledge of the Torah! Hoe#er
there is a select group of +ages ho ha#e passed don from Biblical times a body of secrets knon
the as the 9Reception,: 'abbalah, in Hebre! They claim that human intellect alone is ne#er
enough to understand the Torah and that indeed Torah is a form of communication that speaks to
both the conscious and unconscious components in the human psyche!
These +ages teach that e ere gi#en specific techni5ues ho to train our minds to acti#ely access
the hidden unconscious realms ithin us and ho to integrate them and the Torah concealed
therein into an e%panded consciousness! Those ho could accomplish this e%pansion of human
consciousness ere called prophets and recei#ers (kabbalists) of 9;i#ine: inspiration, Ruah
Ha'odesh! The prophets and the later prophetic 'abbalists ho accomplish this shift in human
thinking patterns ere said to be connected to that place hich e call Hea#en! Thus, the human
prophets ere trained to speak directly to 0!T! ho they referred to as Hea#en/s messengers,
3alakhim in Hebre, ho e refer to today as angels! This connection is not lost to this day6 it
still e%ists, but only amongst the practitioners of the <rophetic 'abbalah and not amongst the
dominant theoretical 'abbalists!
"hat do people today kno about angels) 7lmost nothing8 They kno only 9theory: but they ha#e
no practice or e%perience to bring #alidation to anything they say or belie#e! They read about
hat others ha#e ritten in books and their knoledge stops there at the end of the ritten page!
.nly those properly trained and ho ha#e made use of their training to make actual contact ha#e
real e%perience and personal interaction ith those ho e can either call angels or 0!T!
"hate#er it is that one calls them, one ith e%perience looks upon those ith only book knoledge
as bearing a serious lack of aareness, limited information and a #ery narro comprehension of
reality! No book can e%plain to us the reality of angels and their real connection or identity as 0!T!

No book can e%plain to us the mysteries of the intricate rituals of the Red Heifer! .nly one ith
connection can understand both!
Torah came from beyond our orld! &ts source is from a place that e#en 0!T! angles themsel#es
cannot fathom! Nonetheless they ser#ed as the conduits (#essels, merka#a) for its transmission to
0arth! 7lthough they are not the source, they are still the channel to the source! 7s beings not of
this 0arth, their natural form encompasses a consciousness hich includes both human conscious
and unconscious faculties! 7s such their communication of Torah is e5ually transmitted to both our
human conscious and unconscious minds! The conscious side e see and recogni-e as ords on the
page of a book! But the unconscious side hich resides deep ithin us sees and knos Torah from
ithin and beyond the limitations of intellect and sensory e%perience! 7lthough its isdom and
aareness may be unconscious, it is the e%tra sensory perception of Torah that keeps us connected
to the +ource!
.f course the conscious mind cannot understand the mysteries of the Red Heifer! &t as ne#er
designed to! *et, deep ithin the collecti#e =eish unconscious our connection to Torah is fore#er
strong! Those ho penetrate beyond the intellect del#e into the deep unknons and resurface
back into consciousness ith isdom and pearls of insight! The intellect cannot kno this, nor
understand it! But the spirit knos8 7nd spirit is alays higher than intellect! This is the secret
techni5ue of +ekhel Tenudah (oscillating consciousness) referred to in the +efer *et-irah!
.ne ho closes the book and opens the spirit stands a chance to look ithin! This as the ay of
the prophet and the true 'abbalists after them! 0!T! is atching, as they alays do (;aniel >?1>)!
7nd like ith Rabbi *osef 'aro, the famous author of the +hulkhan 7rukh and 3agid 3esharim, 0!T!
(angel) is aiting to teach Torah to anyone ho makes contact in the proper prophetic ay! The
intellect does not understand this, nor ill it, e#er8 &ntellect alone ill ne#er understand the Red
Heifer or for that matter any other portion of the Torah (@aon of Ailna, 0#en +hleyma B?C1)! But,
then again, since the beginning this as the ay it as meant to be! 2or intellect alone is hat
the Torah referred to as the Tree of 'noledge, @ood and 0#il (ref! 'it#ei Ha7ri/-al)!
.nly hen e fully integrate our minds, ill e disco#er our souls! Then e ill also become
actually aare that the angels, or 0!T! are there too and ha#e alays been there atching! "e
ill then be able to e%pand our ga-e and look from one end of the uni#erse all the ay to the
other, $ust as 7dam did before the fall!
+o, in order to help shake us out of our present collecti#e human slumber, Torah ga#e us the Red
Heifer! Not only ill it purify the unclean, it ill also sho those ho eat the fruit of the Tree of
'noledge, @ood and 0#il, $ust ho unclean they are in the limited rational minds! They approach
the Red Heifer in the arrogance of intellect, not recogni-ing its unclean limitations! They alk
aay ell aare that their intellect cannot take them here they think it can! The Red Heifer
makes clean and unclean, internally and e%ternally! &t is a mystery that only the connected soul
ill e#er fathom, not ith intellect, but rather in the spirit!
.nly the inside eye can see that hich the outside eye cannot! .ne ithout inner #ision is blind in
both the seen and unseen orlds! The ashes of the Red Heifer ga#e sight to the internally blind!
But this is not seen ith the physical eye, nor can it be! 9,nderstand ith isdom and be ise
ith understanding: (+!*! 1?>)! 4earn to see and you ill penetrate beyond ith e%tra sensory
perception to kno the secret of the Red Heifer and to kno ithin ho and here its ashes are to
be found and used e#en today!
