Pastors Report-Seeing exciting growth at Peace and in our community. We as a congregation are
leaders. Looking for voices on input for where God is taking us in the future. Pastor is tired after the
mission trip but will discuss in old business. Going to get back to scheduling congregational visits and
regular visit list following paternity leave. Will have more focus on the Sunday School program.
Feedback was given for being seen at community events especially those youth oriented.
Old Business Mission TripAdded an extra night and had 24 kids together with Pastor Jens church
from Fergus. 14 rode on the Peace bus as we were unable to fill the final spot due to some last minute
changes for youth. Got connected to the work site later through Serve Six. Eight (Isaiah 6-8, Mica 6-8)
in Loveland and Estes Park Colorado. Spent 3 days at a guest ranch which sustained flood damage.
Going up and down the mountain was a slow process. The kids just worked, had great attitudes and
believed that they were all capable of doing the task. Pulled debris out of trees and the river to clear the
river. The kids really enjoyed being part of the Sunday service back at Peace. It was a great trip and
they broke even on the budget. May need a break from Mystery Mission and discussed the possibility
of going to a 3 year rotation to make it something special and considering going to the National Youth
gathering or doing a non-mystery mission where the youth work less with muscle and more with heart.
Mini BlindsJan to have help to measure for blinds again. Will do after meeting.
LP ContractTom will do some additional research on the number of gallons to contract.
LP OdorJim Johnson came in and cleaned pilot lights and burned off build up.
Choir NameChoir has not met yet.
VBSHeard great feedback. 31 kids participated but expensive to have Luther Crest. Pros and
cons under the circumstance of Pastors Paternity leave. Pastor is looking for more feedback
from those who participated to evaluate if we should consider having Luther Crest again. Will
use Mens Breakfast and Thrivent funds to help cover costs if needed.
New Business Fall Festival Service (Date and Food Preparation)September 7, 2014. Will or-
der meat from Barrett Locker and other food from Darrells in Hoffman. Council members to
bring bars. Leon to bring Kool aide.

Stewardship of the Good News
Last month I spent a good amount of time describing what it meant to be a Lutheran, to mebut in
honor of October, the Month we celebrate Martin Luthers nailing of his 95 thesis to the door of the church at
Wittenberg, I felt it worthwhile to post my current Thesis. Now its important to note that Luther intended for
his 95 to be discussed and honed into what the church could be, rather than dictating what people should
believe. Im nailing these here in the newsletter with that same hope (that we at Peace can use them as
conversation starters, so we can be the best we can be).
So without further adieu: What I think it means to be and live as a Christian
(God) has told you, O mortal, what is good; and what does the Lord require of you
but to do justce, and to love kindness, and to walk humbly with your God? Micah 6:8

Do Justice
Actively seek out where God is calling us to serve: with our hands, hearts, minds, talents and wallets;
asking first what people need and want, rather than trying to push our ideas of helping onto others.
Ask for and receive help from others, both those who identify themselves as Christian, as well as those
who are of different faiths or who claim no faith at all.
Regardless of personal consequences, standing and praying with those, as Jesus does, who are
marginalized, ostracized, and oppressed.
Love Kindness
Moving beyond Tolerance of those who are different then us, to genuinely see other people as Jesus
himself was able to see them: Children of God and the very Image of God, here and now.
Striving to express compassion and respect to those, both close and distant, who see Gods creation
differently than us? As well as, looking not just for the safe areas of commonality, but also allowing
others to self-define who they are.
Take seriously Jesus promise of coming to bring Life and to bring it abundantly, seizing as many
opportunities as we can to expand our horizons and live joyfully.
Walk Humbly with your God
Putting ones full trust in the hope found in the life, teachings, death and resurrection of Jesus of
Nazareth, without negating or illegitimating the hope God has instilled in others through different
means.
Pay close attention to how God has worked with and through even the most broken parts of the creation
for the Good of all as recorded in the Old and New Testaments, as well as how God is currently
working and walking with us, our friends and family, and those we classify as enemies.
Acknowledging that although God can and is speaking and working with us in individual ways
throughout our lives, without a regularly worshiping faith community that we can share our gifts with
and receive gifts from we will fall away to a place of isolation and stubbornness.
Working to become aware of our own shortcomings while honestly seeking to understand and call forth
the best in others, including those who consider us their enemies.

Submitted for your review, so what do you think?
