equipment. A repeated reading will make the scheme clear. If any doubt, check

1. GENERAL SPECIFICATIONS:

The Control & Relay Panel is of cubicle construction, suitable for floor mounting,
indoor installation. The protective relays, indicating instruments and control equipment,
which are suitable for flush mounting, have been fixed on the front of the panel for easy
operation and control. The hinged rear door will provide access to all the internal
components as well as to the terminals of the relays mounted on the front. This
facilitates easy inspection and maintenance. The rear door has been provided with
locking arrangements. Necessary hooks to enable easy handling of the panel have been
provided at the top. Provision is made for terminating the incoming cables at the bottom
of the panel by providing separate line of terminal blocks. These are arranged column
wise inside the panel. Panel is suitable for cable entry from the bottom. Necessary
detachable undrilled gland plate has been provided.

2. PACKING AND INSPECTION:

Care is to be taken to ensure that the equipment reaches the user in perfect
working order. It is suggested to take utmost care while unpacking, shifting and
installing the equipment since it contains delicate instruments, relays, switches etc.
Immediately after the unpacking, physically examine all the components and assemblies
by observation at the front as well as opening rear hinged door for possible transit
damages, loose contacts, if any. Ensure that all the connections are rigid and proper.

3. ERECTION:

The panel has been provided with a base frame wherein necessary holes have
been provided for grouting to the floor for proper erection of the panel. The panel is to
be placed on the level surface. Use correct size of grouting bolts for proper erection of the
panels. Also ensure that the doors at the rear can be easily removed and sufficient
space is provided for inspection, etc. from the rear.

4. COMMISSIONING:

Study the schematic diagrams and the operating instructions carefully before
energising the equipment. A repeated reading will make the scheme very clear. The
details of the drawings to be referred are as follows:

Before energizing the AC & DC auxiliary supplies, ensure proper connection of
these to the designated terminals. Please refer the terminal drawing provided. Ensure
proper polarities are maintained for DC supply, CT circuit for proper functioning.

Ensure proper setting of the Num. Busbar protection relay, for operating value and
time settings. Refer the descriptive literature and the setting instructions for the various
relays enclosed to this manual.

5. DESCRIPTION:

Refer schematic diagram referred above. A set of Bill of materials furnishing
therein the description of the various components incorporated in the control panel
along with the drawing have been kept inside the panel for reference. Please make use
of the same for commissioning.

The control & relay panel accepts CT, PT, auxiliary 240V single-phase AC supply
and DC station battery connections at respective designated terminal points. DC supply
is used for control supply, auxiliary supply of the relays, closing & tripping circuits of
the breaker etc. 240VAC single-phase supply is used for internal illumination lamps of
the panel, space heater and 5/15 amps socket. The PT Supply is used for measuring
the Voltage and connected to the voltmeter.

Protective Fuses have been provided inside the panel for the various circuits, details
of which have been furnished in the drawing. Kindly ensure proper rating and type of
the Fuses that are used for the various circuits. Breaker control switch is provided on
the panel for controlling the breaker manually.

6. DESCRIPTION :

Refer schematic diagram referred above. A set of bill of materials furnishing
therein the description of the various components incorporated in the control
panel along with the drawing have been kept inside the panel for reference. Please
make use of the same for commissioning.

7. FAULT ANNUNCIATION :

For fault signaling received in view of the operation of the protective relays and
other auxiliary relays, Facia annunciation is provided on the panel for visual
annunciation. Simultaneously, a hooter will come ON for audible annunciation. The
necessary push buttons are provided on the panel for accept/reset of the annunciation.
A lamp test push button is also provided for testing LEDs of annunciator window.

8. MAINTENANCE:

Normally the panel does not call for frequent maintenance. However, it is
necessary to ensure that the equipment is kept clean at all times. It is also necessary to
ensure proper air-cooling. Check the connections at regular intervals and tighten in case
of any loose connections. Do not allow dust and dirt to get deposited on any component.
It is advisable to clean the internal components by blowing dry air from a distance or
vacuum cleaner at regular intervals.

9. SERVICING:

Field servicing and calibration of instruments, relays to be avoided. This can be
done only at a laboratory where necessary test and calibration facilities are available. In
case of any problem, this can be handled by persons who are completely aware of the
relays incorporated.
