Aristotles Contribution

Aristotle thought that Nature could best be understood by observation and reason and that
all knowledge should be open to examination and subject to reason.
Aristotle founded a school in Athens at the Lyceum which provided the worlds first
comprehensive study of human knowledge from the perspective of natural philosophy.
He proved that infinite linear motion and voids could not exist on Earth. Without those, he
could not escape the complexities of the real world or fully understand inertia. In spite of his
limitations, Aristotle made some remarkable contributions to physics and laid the groundwork
for Galileo, Newton, and Einstein.y of human knowledge from the perspective of natural
philosophy.

contributions of Isaac Newton in physics

His studies in physics have influenced modern physics greatly with his laws of motion, his study
of light, and his law of gravitational motion.
Newton also created one of the most important scientific books of all time, the Principia, widely
regarded as one of the most influential works on physics of all times.
Newton's four greatest achievements was the study of light, the invention of the binomial
theorem, the discovery of calculus, and the theory of universal gravitation.

Aristotles Contribution

The early Greek philosophers questioned the role of the gods as the cause of events and by the
fifth century B.C. the Greek philosophers, such as Socrates, had separated philosophy from
theology.
He had the most rudimentary of scientific equipment, his measurements were not quantitative;
and he considered only things that were observable with the eye.
His lectures notes are important as they not only show clearly his reasoning but they preserve
many of the ideas of his contemporaries.

Contributions of Isaac Newton in physics

he prepared Philosophiae Naturalis Principia Mathematica (Mathematical Principles of Natural
Philosophy) also known as the Principia which has one of the biggest impacts on today's Physics
(Hull).
Newton was one of the most well known scientists in his time, "as Newtonian science became
increasingly accepted on the Continent" (Muir 117).
Newton used gravitational attraction to explain the motion of the planets and their moons.

Aristotles Contribution

Aristotle found that unsatisfactory.
He decided the principles of nature could be found within nature and could be discovered using
careful observation and inductive reasoning.
His lectures followed a pattern that formed the basis of the scientific method.

contributions of Isaac Newton in physics

In his book he covered his discovery of calculus, theories for light and color, and planetary
motion ("Newton").
In Book II, Newton treats the motion of bodies through restating mediums as well as the
motion of fluids. He discredited Descartes system of planetary laws, saying that the vertices of
Descartes could not be self-sustaining.
Newton's Book III, also called "System of the World," stated the famous law of Universal
gravitation.

Galileo: the Telescope &
the Laws of Dynamics

Galileo did not invent the telescope (Dutch spectacle makers receive that credit), but he was
the first to use the telescope to study the heavens systematically.
Galileo used his telescope to show that Venus went through a complete set of phases, just like t
This observation was among the most important in human history, for it provided the first
conclusive observational proof that was consistent with the Copernican system but not the
Ptolemaic system.he Moon.

ALBERT EINSTEIN

Albert Einstein was a German-born theoretical physicist, best known for his Special and General
Theory of Relativity and the concept of mass-energy equivalence expressed by the famous
equation, E = mc2
He made some essential contributions to the early development of quantum theory.
He is the greatest scientist of the twentieth century and one of the supreme intellects of all
time

Galileo
Contributions to Physics

Galileo soon became known through his invention of a hydrostatic balance and his treatise on
the center of gravity of solid bodies.
He initiated his experiments concerning the laws of bodies in motion, which brought results so
contradictory to the accepted teachings of Aristotle that strong antagonism was aroused.
He found that bodies do not fall with velocities proportional to their weights.

ALBERT EINSTEIN

He was a socialist Zionist who supported the creation of a Jewish national homeland in the
British mandate of Palestine
He declined, claiming that he had neither the natural ability nor the experience to deal with
human beings.
In a 1949 article entitled "Why Socialism?", Einstein described a chaotic capitalist society as the
"predatory phase of human development and as a source of evil to be overcome.

Galileo
Contributions to Physics

Galileo did find that the path of a projectile is a parabola, and he is credited with conclusions
foreshadowing Newton's laws of motion.
Galileo created a thermometer.
Galileo discovered the laws of falling bodies and the parabolic motion of projectiles.

ALBERT EINSTEIN

Einsteins own theoretical work had contributed to some extent.
1939, Einstein signed a letter to U.S. President Franklin Delano Roosevelt, penned by the
Hungarian migr and physicist Le Szilrd, urging American development of such a weapon,
and this letter is considered instrumental in Roosevelts subsequent authorization of secret
research into the harnessing of nuclear fission for military purposes (which developed into the
Manhattan Project and ultimately resulted in the nuclear weapons used on the Japanese cities
of Hiroshima and Nagasaki).

Contribution of a Filipino Scientist Arturo Alcaraz,

Doctor Arturo Alcaraz is a volcanologist specializing in geothermal energy development.
In 1967, Arturo Alcaraz and team powered an electric light bulb using steam-powered
electricity. Power coming from a Volcano near the town of Tiwi.
This was the first geothermal power generated in the Philippines.

Contribution of a Filipino Scientist Arturo Felix Maramba

Felix Maramba built a coconut oil-fueled power generator.
He also is the developer of one of the world's most profitable biogas systems.
Felix Maramba is the president of the Philippine Association of Flour Millers, Inc. Felix
Maramba wrote: Biogas and Waste Recycling, The Philippine Experience.

Contribution of a Filipino physicist Gregorio Zara,

Gregorio Zara, a Filipino physicist, is known for his discovery of the Law of Electrical Kinetic
Resistance.
In addition to being known as discovering the Zara effect;
He also invented the videophone and an airplane engine that uses alcohol as fuel.
