 Grace for Clunkers
The government
recently allocated
about $1 billion in the
“Cash for Clunkers”
rebates for new auto
purchases. They
offered owners of old
cars and trucks $3,500
or $4,500 toward a
new, more fuel-efficient vehicle. I am so
grateful that God’s merciful provision is
endless with grace for our clunker lives,
something far better and more eternal than
cash. Government programs invariably
have huge issues and failure rates, but God
has a 100% success rate. Our government
efforts did more for foreign than domestic
industry, yet God’s grace is for all.
By faith at salvation, we took God up on His
can’t-miss, win-win deal of exchanging our
sin for His forgiveness as we appropriated
His endless supply. God does not love us
because we are valuable; we are valuable
because He loves us. Parents should never
tell a child who may be tempted to sin,
“God won’t love you anymore.” There is
nothing that you can do to make God love
you any more or any less. “We are saved
through the grace of the Lord Jesus” (Acts
15:11). His grace is not depleted by too
many sinners seeking the deal or by too
much time having passed. No one gets to
vote on the measure like Congress, but we
accept God’s election.

Sermon Notes
A family put the following ad in the
newspaper: “Lost dog: crippled in front
paw, blind in left eye, mange on back and
neck, tail missing. Answers to the name
Lucky…” He was not lucky, but blessed to
have someone who loved him and missed
him. In the Old Testament, Jonathan’s
crippled son, Mephibesheth, referred to
himself as a “dead dog.” But he was blessed
to sit at King David’s table as his adopted
son due to David’s big heart and previous
covenant with Jonathan. As you experience
“thanksgiving” this season around your
table, thank God for His feast of full
forgiveness.
All clunkers and junkers are welcome at
First Baptist Church. What is crippled by sin
or failure would be thrown away as junk in
the world, but we can live again. When the
invitation to come to Christ is given today,
haul yourself down the aisle and come to
His grace. Then be baptized in water as a
sign of new life.

 Operation Soldier Care
Please remember the sacrifices our
military and their families are making
every day for all Americans and millions
around the world.
Operation Soldier Care (OSC) is an
outreach ministry which provides
prayer support and encouragement to
our troops through cards, letters, and
care packages. This is a church-wide
effort implemented through our Bible
and Life Groups (BLGs). To date OSC has
sent 3,455 care packages, weighing a
total of 46,869 pounds (23.4 tons), and
at a cost of $180,330. Care packages
have been shipped to 594 soldiers
serving in Iraq, Afghanistan and the
Persian Gulf area. For more information

Single Adult What is Happening at First Baptist Academy?

On Nov. 5, First Baptist Academy’s fourth graders communicated live through
teleconferencing with an elementary school in Leesburg, VA. They welcomed a

Christmas delegation of Pakistani students to our country and taught them about the state
of Florida. FBA is one of only two schools in the US selected to participate in the
conference. Our fourth graders had a unique opportunity to demonstrate the love
of Christ to others. This experience is one of many ways students at FBA are being
