To Whom It May Concern:

2014 ASEAN BAC Scorecard on ASEAN Competitiveness
One Vision, One Identity, One Community

We are pleased to inform you that the ASEAN Business Advisory Council (ASEAN-BAC) is conducting a
survey of businesses based in all ten ASEAN economies. The survey aims to collate business sentiments
towards the attractiveness of ASEAN to financial services, marketing and consumers as well as the
effectiveness of ASEAN policy initiatives to forge develop its market potential and shape its business
environment.
The 2014 ASEAN-BAC Scorecard on ASEAN Competitiveness follows from the success of three previous
surveys conducted by the Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy of Singapore, where survey findings and
policy recommendations were reported by ASEAN BAC to ASEAN Leaders and Economic Ministers during
their annual dialogue and consultation sessions.
The ASEAN-BAC, which comprises three business leaders from each ASEAN economy, was formed in 2003
by the ASEAN Leaders to provide private sector feedback on ASEAN economic cooperation. ASEAN has
set a goal to form an ASEAN Economic Community (AEC) by the end of 2015, which will establish ASEAN
as a single market and production base. The private sector sentiments towards ASEAN gathered through
the 2014 Scorecard would assist policy makers to prioritize policy measures that would enhance the
regions competitiveness and the ease of doing business.
We will also provide every respondent with an online edition of the detailed survey report.
Please be assured that the information you provide will be kept strictly confidential. Only aggregate data
will be published.
We would very much appreciate if you could forward this invitation letter to members of your business
community who may be interested to participate in this survey.
Should you have any questions pertaining to this survey, please do not hesitate to contact Mr. U Moe
Kyaw at md@mmrdrs.com or moekyaw@aseanbizsurvey.com

Thank you very much in advance for your kind support and cooperation.
Yours sincerely,
U Moe Kyaw
Chairman
