    The Upton-by-Chester Golf Club Seniors Section is holding its winter championship competition between October 2014 and March 2015. The competition will be played in a better-ball format over 12 holes with handicaps halved. Teams of two players will be in set partnerships playing against other teams on set dates. A substitute player may be used if an individual can't play, resulting in a 2 point penalty to their score. If a full team can't play, they must arrange marker players for their opponents. The championship has an entry fee of £2 per couple with prizes for the top three finishing teams. In addition, each match played has a £2 per couple entry fee with prizes for the top three scores that

    12 holes- betterball- Stableford- drawn partnerships- 1/2 seniors' handicap- best 4 scores to count for the championship.
    If an individual player cannot play he MAY arrange a substitute but TWO POINTS will be deducted from their score.
    If a full team cannot play they MUST arrange marker(s) for their opponents. The marker(s) score will not count for the Winter
    Championship but they may enter the golf ball competition on the day.
    Championship entry fee: 2 per couple. Prizes (vouchers equal to the value of the entry fee) for first, second and third places.
    Match entrance fee: 2 per couple per match. Prizes for first, second and third (golf balls).
