Oct. 5, Sun.- is World Communion Sunday. We will join with Christians around
the world in a service of communion and foot washing.
Oct. 8, Wed.-Fall Bible Study here at church, 7 p.m.
Oct. 8, Wed.-JGA, JBA and Jr. Youth will meet at the Bowmansville Menn.
Church from 7-8:30 p.m. JGA will pack Baby Bundles for Haiti; JBA will learn
about some church members who have passed on and Jr. Youth will have a Barn
Party. The party will be held at Brubacher's Barn, but youth should be dropped off
and picked up at the church at the regular time. Boys should bring a salty snack, and
girls should bring a sweet snack.
Oct. 10 & 11, Fri. & Sat.-Hinkletown Mennonite School Benefit Auction. The
theme is The Great Outdoors with many different outdoor recreation and gardening
items along with traditional quilts, collectibles and much more. For more info:

Oct. 10, 11, & 12, Fri. & Sat. 7 p.m., Sun. 10 a.m.-We invite your prayers and
participation in our church's annual Spiritual Renewal Services. This year our
resource person is David Pegarella, who serves as pastor of Nanticoke Christian
Fellowship in Luzerne County near Wilkes-Barre, PA. A snack will follow the Fri.
& Sat. evening services.
Oct. 15, Wed.-Bowmansville District Sewing Circle will meet at the Bowmansville
Mennonite in the morning and afternoon. This is the month for our covered dish
lunch, so please bring a hot or cold dish to share with the group. Everyone is
welcome! The project for this month is Hygiene Kits and Relief Kits. As armed
conflict forces Iraqis from their homes, MCC is providing vital items for daily life.
They would like to send 12,000 Hygiene Kits and 3,000 relief kits to this region. All
items can be brought to the church, and Sewing Circle will see that they are taken to
MCC. If you do not wish to contribute a complete kit, donations of bath towels are
welcome. Sewing Circle will provide the rest. Cash donations are accepted for MCC
to purchase toothpaste. Please the list of items needed on the bulletin board. Thank
you for your help!
-You are invited to attend an Old Fashioned Christmas Carol Singing, led by
Wilmer Gehman, Narvon, at the 1855 Alleghany Mennonite Meetinghouse on
Monday or Tuesday evening, December 8 or 9, 2014 at 7 PM. Contact Grace
Sensenig (278-8459) to reserve free tickets.
-October is a great time to acknowledge our Pastors and their families, since it is
known as Pastor Appreciation month. Recognize them with a card, note, or think of
a creative way to express your appreciation for their dedicated service. -Pastoral

-We are looking at an MDS work week the third or fourth week of Feb.2015.
Those wishing to contribute toward expenses may do so throughout the year using
the offering envelopes. Please designate the contribution to MDS 2015 Work
Week.
