The Department of Instrumentation and Control Engineering commenced its Bachelor of Technology

(B.Tech) degree programme in 1990. A holistic approach has been adopted while framing curriculum,
updating infrastructural facilities and improving coaching methods.The Department is consolidating its
efforts to promote industrial research and consultancy in appropriate areas of Instrumentation and
Control Engineering.
The Department is also developing a Virtual Instrumentation Laboratory and an Instrumentation
Calibration Centre, which will offer calibrating facilities for wide range of electrical analog and digital
instruments.
Besides teaching assignments, research activities in emerging areas like Digital Control Systems including
SCADA and PLC, Distributed Control System ,Intelligent Instrumentation System using Microprocessor
and Computers Biomedical Instrumentation Systems, Transducers and Smart Sensors and Robotics have
also been initiated.
