Loosen the air bleed bolt in the thetmostat housing,
then fi l l the radi ator to the bottom of the ti l l er neck
wi th the cool ant mi xtu.e. Ti ghten the bl eed bol t as
soon as coolant stans to run out in a steadv stream
wi thout bubbl es.

bol t threads when i nstal l i ng.
1O. Wi th the radi ator cap oft, start the engi ne and l et i t
run unti l warmed up

twi ce). Then, i f necessary, add more cool ant mi x to
bring the level back up to the bottom ot the filler
neck.
11. Put the radi ator cap on ti ghtl y, then run the engi ne
agai n and check tor l eaks.

Engine Coolant nefill\ and Bleeding
CAUTlOttl: When pouting engino coolaisQgsuro to shut
th6 ralay box lid and not to lst coolanl spill on tho elec-
trical
part6 or lh paint. lf any coolant spills, rinse it off
immodiat6ly.
1. Set the heater temperature l ever or conttol di al to
maxamum heat.
2. Remove the engi ne spl ash shi el d.
3. When the radi ator i s cool , remove the radi ator cap.
Loosen the drai n pl ug, and drai n the cool ant.
4. Remove the drai n bol t trom the rear si de of the
cyl i nder bl ock to drai n the bl ock and heater,
5. Appl y l i qui d gasket to the drai n bol t threads, then
reinstall the bolt with a new washer and tighten it
securel y.
6. Ti ghten the radi ator drai n pl ug securel y.
7, Remove, drai n and rei nstal l the reservoi r. Fi l l the tank
haltway to the MAX mark with water, then up to the
MAX mark wi th anti -freeze.
8. Mi x the recommended anti -freeze wi th an equal
amount ol water i n a cl ean contai ner.
NOTE:

a Fof best corrosion Drotection, the coolant concen-
trati on must be mai ntai ned year-round at 50
mi ni mum. Cool ant concentrati ons l ess than 50%
may not provide sutficient protection against cor-
rosi on or treezi ng.
a Coolant concentrations greater than 60% will im-
paif cooling efficiency and are not recommended.
CAUTION:
a Do not mix dilferent brands of anti-freoze/
cool ants.
a Do not uso additional rust inhibitors or anti-rust
products; they may not be compatible with tho
gnuine coolant.
