International Capital Strategies Expands with New Principals

_____
Crebo-Rediker, Gordon Join Policy and Financial Markets Advisory Firm
(Washington, D.C.) -- The policy and markets consultancy, International Capital
Strategies, LLC (ICS) today announced that Heidi Crebo-Rediker and David Gordon
have joined the firm as principals.
Crebo-Rediker was the first chief economist at the U.S. Department of State. Gordon
was the Chairman of Eurasia Group and a former senior diplomat and intelligence
official.
International Capital Strategies operates on the premise that international financial
market outcomes are influenced by the combination of economics, policy and politics;
not by any one of those individually, said ICS Founder and Executive Chairman
Douglas Rediker. Our expanded team enhances our offering of bespoke, unbiased,
market-relevant insights, actionable advice and consulting services related to the
political economy of global financial markets.
Rediker founded the Washington-based firm in 2012 after serving as a member of the
Executive Board of the International Monetary Fund representing the United States
throughout the Euro-crisis. He spent over sixteen years as an investment banker and
private equity investor based in London covering emerging and developed markets. He
is also a visiting fellow at the Washington-based Peterson Institute for International
Economics.
The firms expansion brings additional market, public policy, central bank analysis and
geopolitical heft to the team. We understand how policy choices and global events
impact markets because our team has firsthand experience as policymakers, on trading
floors and as investors, said Rediker. We translate and interpret the worlds of
economics, politics, policy and finance - across borders and around the globe.
Heidi Crebo-Rediker, who will serve as CEO of ICS, previously served as the State
Departments first Chief Economist, an Assistant Secretary level position created by
Secretary Hillary Clinton. In that position Crebo-Rediker provided advice and analysis
to the Secretary on a wide range of foreign policy issues having a significant economic,
market or financial component. Before this, she was the Chief of International Finance
and Economics for the Senate Committee on Foreign Relations. Earlier, she lived for
nearly two decades in Europe as a senior investment banker covering both developed
and emerging markets. She will continue to serve as a Senior Fellow at the Council on
Foreign Relations.
Until recently, David Gordon, who will serve as President of ICS, was the Chairman and
Head of Research at Eurasia Group, following a distinguished career at the highest
levels of U.S. national security and foreign policy. He served as Director of Policy
Planning for Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice after leading the National Intelligence
Council. Under both President Clinton and President Bush, Gordon represented the
intelligence community on the White House interagency coordinating committee on
international economic policy. Before joining the Executive Branch, he was responsible
for international economics on the House Foreign Affairs Committee.
In addition, Sebastian Mallaby will serve as Senior Advisor to ICS based in London.
Mallaby is a best-selling financial journalist and former contributing editor and
columnist at the Financial Times and Washington Post. He writes widely on domestic
and international economic and financial issues, including financial markets, the
implications of the rise of newly emerging powers, and the intersection of economics
and international relations. He is currently writing a biography of the former Federal
Reserve chairman, Alan Greenspan following the success of his previous best-selling
book, More Money Than God: Hedge Funds and the Making of a New Elite. He will
continue to serve as the Paul A. Volcker senior fellow for international economics at the
Council on Foreign Relations.
