Five ESCP Europe campuses
in Paris, London, Berlin, Madrid and Torino
The Worlds First Business School (est. 1819)
100 academic alliances worldwide
Triple accredited: EQUIS, AMBA, AACSB
Regularly ranked among the worlds best
business schools
4,000 students in degree programmes
representing 90 different nationalities
5,000 high-level participants in customised
training programmes and executive education
127 research-active professors representing
over 20 nationalities
120 afliate and visiting professors, and
more than 700 practitioners and experts
40,000 active alumni in more than
150 countries worldwide
Founded in 1819 by a group of businessmen and economic
scholars in Paris, ESCP Europe is the oldest business school in
the world and has formed generations of leaders.
Since its very beginning, ESCP Europe has focused on its international
dimension: even back in 1824, 30 per cent of the class were
international students coming from 15 different nations. The
Schools more recent history is characterised by a distinct
European vision, especially with regards to its values and
integration process. In 1973, campuses in Germany and the UK
were created and the pioneering model of the rst multi-campus,
pan-European management school was born. Campuses in Spain
and Italy followed in 1988 and 2004 respectively. Today, over 100
partnerships with schools both in Europe and worldwide complete
this European calling in the context of an ever more globalised
world.
Approaching its 200
th
anniversary, the ambition of ESCP Europe is
to continue the development of a European management culture
through academic excellence, and to prepare future leaders to
respect humanist European values such as pluridisciplinarity,
creativity and diversity.
The cultural and social diversity of our student body, the latter
of which we foster through a system of scholarships, complete
ESCP Europes humanistic vision of business management.
The Master in Management programme perfectly embodies
academic excellence within a multi-campus business school,
allowing us to form managers with a strong understanding of
European economic and cultural realities for the world of tomorrow.
The credo of Europe is to remain faithful to its humanistic
principles, while at the same time anticipating the new ways of the
world - and such is the aspiration of ESCP Europe.

Prof. Maria Koutsovoulou
Academic Dean
Claudine Bertin-Lord
Programme Director
The unique model of ESCP Europe is based upon its ve urban campuses
and offers the possibility of an integrated pan-European curriculum.
This allows our students to experience living and studying in different
countries and different languages, without having to compromise on
academic excellence.
In all ve countries where ESCP Europe is present, students can benet
from our extensive network of companies, institutions and organisations.
The Master in Management offers the opportunity to obtain the national
diplomas of each of these ve countries. If they wish, students can
also spend one or two semesters at one of our many partner universities
worldwide, where in some cases they can also receive an additional
diploma.
During the two-year Master in Management programme, our students
rst learn about the various elds of business management at an
advanced Master level before acquiring deeper knowledge in one of several
specialisations. These specialisations include the classical business
functions, for example Finance and Marketing, but also other areas such
as Media Management and Public Administration. A student can therefore
obtain a dual qualication by, for example, studying core business
modules in the rst year at the London and Paris campuses, before
spending a second year specialising in entrepreneurship in Madrid,
sustainable development in Berlin, or a variety of elds at a partner
university.
A thorough understanding of Europe is an important learning objective of
the Master in Management, and ESCP Europe offers several seminars to
enhance this experience. At the beginning of the programme, the whole
class meets at the European Parliament in Strasbourg for three days in
order to learn and experience the complexity of EU decision-making.
Despite its strong European identity, the Master in Management also has
plenty of time for world affairs. This is reected through international
internships or periods of study in such exciting cities as New Delhi,
Moscow or Shanghai. The number of job offers our students receive and
the bright career paths they then follow all over the world serve as a
testimony to the relevance of the unique experience ESCP Europe has
to offer.

ESCP EUROPE:
Five campuses in major European cities
THE WORLDS FIRST BUSINESS SCHOOL
(EST. 1819)
With its ve campuses
in Paris, London, Berlin,
Madrid and Torino, as well
as partner universities
worldwide, ESCP Europe
offers its students a truly
exceptional international
exposure. During their
time on the Master in
Management programme,
all students spend time
abroad for study and in-
company experience. We
offer the opportunity for
each student to build his/
her study track based on
the academic content and
their choice of campus.
Essential in todays global
life, we also offer our
students the possibility to
learn and improve in several
languages, either through
dedicated courses or simply
by living and studying in
different countries. As a
direct result, many of our
students speak three or
more languages by the
time of their graduation.

ESCP Europe is established by a group of economic
scholars and businessmen in Paris.
It becomes the Worlds First Business School.
ESCP Europe celebrates its 100
th
anniversary, postponed due to
the post-war crisis, in the vast auditorium of the Sorbonne.
The concept of a multi-campus business school is born through
the inauguration of campuses in Germany and United Kingdom.
The School opens its 4
th
campus in Madrid.
ESCP Europe enters Italy with a 5
th
campus in Torino.
Established in 1819, the Worlds First Business School, ESCP Europe was founded by a group of
economic scholars and businessmen including the well-known economist Jean-Baptiste Say and the
celebrated trader Vital Roux. Say was an advocate of economic liberalism and is often credited with
having coined the concept of entrepreneurship as early as 1800. Roux is particularly known for having
largely contributed to the elaboration of the Commercial Code in 1807, as well as for his up-front
thinking in innovative pedagogy. One can therefore argue that the creation of ESCP Europe represented
the invention of the business school concept.
PARIS: The Paris campus is conveniently located in the centre of the city.
It is the largest of ESCP Europes ve locations, hosting the greatest
number of faculty and students as well as one of the most prestigious
Grandes Ecoles in the country. With extensive on-campus facilities and
several student clubs and associations, a strong sense of school spirit
and community prevails.
LONDON: Located in West Hampstead in northwest London, this
campus offers students state-of-the-art facilities in a traditional Victorian
building. The bright city lights and the business community are only a
tube ride away, while the fashionable area of West Hampstead offers a
broad cultural experience away from the hustle and bustle of inner-city life.
BERLIN: The Berlin campus is located close to one of the historical
centrepieces of Berlin, the Charlottenburg Palace. Located in baroque
gardens, it overlooks the Schools beautiful late-19th century building.
Throughout the year, there are events and conferences on the latest
business issues. The Berlin campus is a staatlich anerkannte wissens-
chaftliche Hochschule in Germany.
MADRID: Located only a couple of metres away from the National Park
of Monte del Prado, the Madrid campus is an ideal place for students
to focus on their study and professional development. The surrounding
gardens and parks set the scene for the hard work and personal
reection necessary during the development of managerial competences.
TORINO: The Torino campus is located in a beautiful building with modern
facilities. Torino is one of the main business centres of the Italian eco-
nomy and home to many architectural masterpieces. It is also one of
the favourite student cities in Italy. The Torino campus has strong rela-
tionships with a number of Italian and international companies, which
contribute to its governance.

tatives of the Paris Chamber of Commerce and Industry, of the national boards
and of the Advisory Board.
This Advisory Board is composed of company executives and representatives of
the economic, institutional and cultural worlds. It aims to present the School with
different perspectives and make sure that academic programmes are in line with
tomorrows corporate challenges.
Created in 2005, the ESCP Europe Foundation provides active support for the
Schools development projects.

The School offers academic excellence at an international standard. This
is recognised by several national and international rankings, in which
ESCP Europe is regularly placed in the top positions. In particular the
multicultural and international dimension of the programme is recurrently
complimented. The Master in Management programme consists of an
international student body representing over 70 countries; multicultural
group work; geographic mobility in terms of countries of study and
internships; and an internationally renowned faculty. Amongst
participants, the largest numbers come from France, Germany, Italy
and Poland. 14% come from Asian countries, with Chinese and Indian
students most highly represented.
Teaching is about creating contexts wherein students can
discover new approaches to understand better who they are;
unlearn to learn; and address complexity and make sense of it.

at the forefront of their elds for the benet of students, corporations,
and society as a whole. They regularly publish their work within leading
international outlets, and are active members of national and international
research networks. Moreover, each faculty member has one day per
week for consulting activities and as such stays closely connected to the
business world.
127 professors make up
the ESCP Europe full-time
faculty. The School also
has more than 80 afliate
faculty members and some
700 part-time professors
and working professionals.

Start@Europe, jointly organised with the Ecole Nationale dAdministration
(ENA) and supported by the city of Strasbourg and the ESCP Europe
Foundation, is yet another indication of the Schools commitment to Europe.
The students, who come from more than 70 different nationalities, work
together within the Parliament over a three-day period to obtain the
European awareness; crucial when undertaking the Master in Management.
To immerse our students
in the Schools European
dimension, each September
all rst-year Master in
Management students will
experience a three-day
seminar at the European
Parliament in Strasbourg.
During this seminar, stu-
dents attend conferences
given by experts in the
issues surrounding the
economic, institutional and
cultural aspects of Euro-
pean policy-making. The
students also take part
in a negotiation role-play
to increase their insight.

I wanted to live in different
European cities during my
studies, and I dont regret a
single moment of my time
at ESCP Europe! The School
has given me the chance to
study alongside students from
different backgrounds and
cultures and to learn to work
in different ways.
Living and working in different countries
is a learning experience in itself. During my
internship I worked in three languages every day,
communicating with suppliers around the world.
I know that I now have more career opportunities
owing to my international exposure.
Coming from a German university, I can
say that living and studying at ESCP Europe
has really been different. The contact with
the faculty and working relations with fellow
students are genuinely close; we formed a
tight community.
The School is really supportive
when it comes to nding an
internship. In London, I worked
in the City for a subsidiary of
the Socit Gnrale. It was
a fascinating experience for
me, coming from Spain and
then working in London for a
French bank! It didnt take long
to understand the meaning of
multicultural.

From London to Paris to Berlin, I learned
two languages and cultures. I specialised in
entrepreneurship. The programme is like two masters
in one, a sound overview of business topics, followed
by one of many specialisations. Now I am ready for an
international career.
Course quality at ESCP Europe is excellent.
A huge variety of electives enabled me
to well prepare for my job interviews.
I will never forget my time at the very oldest
business school worldwide.
I chose ESCP Europe because it offers an immense
opportunity in terms of international exposure,
foreign languages, a competitive student body and an
illustrious reputation. I have the freedom to tailor my
own course of study and have the opportunity to go on
an international exchange to virtually any continent in
the world.

THE VARIATIONS OF THE TWO-YEAR
MASTER IN MANAGEMENT PROGRAMME
Pre-Master
The Pre-Master Year is particularly designed for students coming from
the well-known French Classes Prparatoires, but students having
completed at least two years of university-level education outside of
France are also eligible. The Pre-Master Year, totalling 60 ECTS points,
is devoted to gaining insight into the fundamentals of management,
including introductory and advanced concepts to foster your understanding
of the world of business. There are also courses in social sciences,
law, economics and foreign languages. The Pre-Master Year combines
requisite courses, interdisciplinary projects and an internship. Students
can spend the Pre-Master Year in Paris or Torino.
Gap Year
Several Master in Management students decide to take a gap year before
their nal study year in order to gain in-depth professional experience
in one or two companies anywhere in the world. This often helps to
ne-tune their career objectives and to decide which specialisation and/
or electives they wish to pursue in their nal year at ESCP Europe. If
students take this option, the Master programme can take up to four
years to complete (with a minimum of two years of studies and two gap years).
Apprenticeship
A one or two-year apprenticeship during the Master in Management
programme is possible at the Paris campus. (Please note, students
are required to be uent in French and should not be older than 26 in
order to take this option.) It combines in-company work experience with
academic coursework at ESCP Europe and includes a semester abroad
at an international partner university or at one of our other campuses.
Students participating in this programme variation pay no fees for this
period and additionally receive a salary from the respective company
they work for.
International Seminars
Alongside the core courses, electives and specialisations, all students
will participate in one seminar per semester (four in total). These are
key moments in the Master in Management, with all current students
coming together to benet from the internationality of the programme.
During the rst seminar, Start@Europe, more than 700 students gather
at the European Parliament in Strasbourg to immerse themselves in the
complexity of European decision-making. The second seminar consists
of a three-day simulation game wherein students learn to combine the
different business areas and experience the links between them. The
third seminar prepares students for the writing of their Master thesis.
Finally, the closing seminar, Business in Europe, consists of a series of
plenary sessions and discussions with notable guest speakers from a
variety of companies and international institutions.

ESCP EUROPE CORPORATE RELATIONS TEAM
The Corporate Relation Teams on our various campuses provide assistance
with internship offers, as well as a comprehensive portfolio of personalised
careers advice, CV clinics, and help with interview techniques.
Throughout the year, the local Company Relations Teams invite companies
and recruiters to meet Master programme students for presentations and
interviews. These events are a great opportunity to establish important
contacts, to talk to professionals and to discuss career opportunities.
Innovative pedagogy based upon case studies, instruction from visiting
executives and ESCP Europes partnerships with leading companies
ensure the link between in-class theory and the reality of the business
world. The integrated internship is a key aspect in this approach.
At least 39 weeks of professional experience, of which 20 weeks must
be in a position of managerial responsibility, are expected from the student
in order to graduate. These 39 weeks of in-company experience
include all of the placements completed by the student, including those
carried out before joining ESCP Europe. Students acquire an average of
16 months of work experience during the programme.
CORPORATE LIFE AND INTERNSHIPS
During their studies at
ESCP Europe, students
have several opportunities
to experience corporate life
and to participate in various
student associations.
These activities offer not
only social benets, but
also crucial hands-on
experience to prepare them
for their future job search.

STUDENT LIFE AND ASSOCIATIONS
Student Union BDE
Elected by the students, the BDE plays an important role in the
interface between the student body and the administration on the
different campuses. It provides a discussion forum and proposes ideas
on a wide range of topics concerning student life. The student union also
organises social events which encourage networking amongst different
year-groups and nationalities.
Call ONU
A cross-campus organisation which prepares its yearly participation at
the NMUN in New York City. Around 4,000 students from top universities
worldwide embody diplomats and represent their country in various UN
committees such as the Security Council or UNICEF. Members gain a unique
experience in the spirit of European and international diplomatic relations.
ESCP Europe Consultancy, alias Junior
Entreprise
A student-run business association which works with corporate clients
across Europe on a wide range of business ventures. The association
attracts business-minded individuals keen to pursue their personal
development on genuine business projects.
Sports clubs and activities
Sports activities have a long tradition at ESCP Europe, and the Paris
campus alone offers around 30 different disciplines. London campus
students have access to the various sporting facilities at City University,
and the Torino campus organises an annual regatta, bringing together
both students and alumni.
A strong sense of school
spirit and community is a
dening characteristic of
ESCP Europe. Involvement
in extra-curricular activities
and student associations
is strongly encouraged; we
consider it an essential part
of personal well-being and
professional development.
Student life on each of the
campuses is shaped by
the initiatives and activities
offered by some fty clubs
and associations which
organise networking, and
artistic and cultural events,
political discussions, sports
tournaments, social events,
humanitarian activities, etc.
THE ESCP EUROPE REGATTA: STUDENTS
AND ALUMNI SAIL TOGETHER
The ESCP Europe Regatta symbolises what ESCP Europe is all about.
Once a year, students from all ve campuses, as well as members
of staff, faculty and alumni, gather in Italy for a weekend at sea. The
event is a unique opportunity to fully exploit the potential of a multi-
campus school and to strengthen and broaden the group spirit key to the
ESCP Europe community.
The ESCP Europe Regatta has become a landmark in the Schools
sporting, networking and social calendar. Around 500 participants
sailed together in 2011, manning 42 yachts around Ischia, Italy. Working
in teams to take rst place, the event allows for excellent group bonding
and the continued development of team-building skills.
22
25
The purpose of the ESCP Europe Alumni Association is to unite and
organise this community. With 700 delegate alumni representatives
and 13 full-time staff, it assists students throughout their studies and
into their rst job. The Alumni Association then provides resources to
graduates for life-long professional and personal development.
The Association offers the following services:
An alumni mentor for each student during his or her studies
Career development workshops (interviews, resume writing, etc.)
Over 30,000 job offers each year
A directory available online and in paper form

Study location regulations
Over the two Master years, students will have to study at least one
academic year at one or two ESCP Europe campuses of their choice,
including one academic semester at the ESCP Europe Paris campus.
This can be completed in English or French; however a minimum level
of French is required by graduation. Students can study a maximum of
one year at one of our partner institutions.
Students holding a Bachelor degree in a non-business eld who do not
have the prerequisites and core courses (Accounting, Information Tools
and Skills, Corporate Law, Costs and Decisions, Quantitative Methods,
Economics, Finance, Marketing, Psychology and Management) need
to complete their rst Master year in Paris (in English or French) or
Madrid (in Spanish). Students who have taken seven of the required
nine courses must study in Paris during the 1
st
semester of the 1
st
Master
year and may then move to another campus for the 2
nd
semester.
Students may study in a maximum of three different countries.
A limited number of places are available for courses taught in English
on the Paris campus. Priority is given to non-French-speaking students.
The admissions process for
the Master in Management
depends upon the country
in which candidates received
their Bachelor degree (or

independently of country of
citizenship and/or country

Cost of living
In order to evaluate local expenses, one should take into account the cost of living in each city
where ESCP Europe has a campus. The cost of living varies between 650 and 1,000 per month in
Paris, Berlin, Madrid and Torino, but can be more expensive in London (up to 1,400).
Scholarships
ESCP Europe strives to attract the best students, regardless of their nancial background. As such,
the School offers a selection of need and merit-based scholarships. Around 400 are awarded every
year, representing a total of 1,500,000.
It is also possible to attain scholarships granted independently of the School. For further information
please write to: scholarships@escpeurope.eu.
ESCP Europe scholarships nance 25% or 50% of the Master 1 year tuition fees (reserved for
EU students). Awards are made based on social criteria. French students should apply for Higher
Education Grants awarded by the CROUS.
Non EU applicants joining the programme through the International Admissions Service Test (SAI)
will be awarded scholarships based on merit.
Some countries provide scholarships for their own citizens. Please obtain information in your
home country by contacting the relevant government bodies and foundations
Other sources of nancial aid include:
Income from paid internships: while the salaries offered can vary signicantly, most students
receive between 400 and 1,900 per month during their internships. In many cases, work per-
mits are not required as the internship is a compulsory part of the curriculum (please check with
local requirements).
Campus jobs: several jobs on campus are available and paid by the hour.
Bank loans: tuition fees for the Master in Management represent around half a years salary of the
average graduating student during his/her rst job. Therefore, many banks offer student loans at
attractive rates, with deferred pay back.
Apprenticeships: tuition fees are covered by the students employer (Paris campus only)
Costs and nancing
Students who wish to obtain a double degree from one of our partner
universities usually spend their second Master year abroad. For specic
questions on double degrees in conjunction with our partner universi-
ties, please contact your local admissions coordinator.
