Position Description:
Capitol Hill United Neighborhoods, Inc. (CHUN) see+s 0-1 spring seester intern(s) to help plan
and coordinate the 0234 CHUN Capitol Hill People*s "air, an ann#al large-scale arts 5 cra!ts and
#sic !estival the frst !#ll )ee+end in ,#ne. Interns )ill gain e.perience in event prod#ction,
corporate sponsorship, ar+eting, p#blic relations, graphic design, and nonproft anageent.
6hile a )ide variet' o! )or+ )ill be necessar', interns are )elcoe and enco#raged to !oc#s on
an area o! specifc interest to the.
-he People%s "air interns )ill )or+ closel' )ith the CHUN 7ta& and the People*s "air 7teering
Coittee. 7oe o! the specifc areas o! !oc#s )ill be8 assisting )ith the application and
selection process !or People%s "air artists, !ood vendors, #sicians and non-proft vendors9
assisting )ith P.:. and ar+eting d#ties s#ch as helping to )rite and edit press releases and e-
ail blasts, designing ads, assebling and distrib#ting press +its, distrib#ting posters and ;iers,
a+ing credentials and <IP passes, assisting in prootional events !or the People%s "air and other
vario#s tas+s. Interns )ill also help anage o#r )ebsite and database !or CHUN and the People%s
"air, assist )ith social edia postings, anageent o! o#r blog, and assist in prod#cing o#r
onthl' ne)sletter and bi-onthl' e-ail blasts. In addition, the )or+ load )ill incl#de soe
adinistrative d#ties s#ch as a+ing copies, ans)ering the phone, data entr', and research.
7oe ph'sicall' deanding )or+ )ill be re=#ired on-site at the People%s "air. -he People%s "air
interns #st be available to )or+ long ho#rs the entire event weekend (,#ne > and ?) incl#ding
set-#p da's (,#ne @ and 4). Interns )ill also be e.pected to )or+ the )ee+ a!ter the People%s "air,
to help )ith closing d#ties.
-he People%s "air interns )ill also attend soe sta& eetings, onthl' planning eetings )ith the
People%s "air 7teering Coittee, and serve as sta& s#pport !or People%s "air eetings and events
leading #p to the !air. -his position )ill a&ord the opport#nit' to learn all aspects o! prod#cing a
aAor ann#al cit' !estival. -he opport#nit' e.ists to )or+ )ith di&erent cit' and state agencies, to
eet and develop iportant contacts )ith people in the events ind#str', and to gain val#able
e.perience in the planning, prod#ction, and prootion o! an ann#al event )hich dra)s 022,222
