UNIT DESCRIPTION

Main Theme : Sea Creatures

work ( labelling picture , language art ) , group work ( jigsaw reading )
, pair work ( group words , dictation )
How are capturing student interests ? we will capture students
interest by making them to draw about a dangerous sea animal
and write about it .
What are the learning objectives with measurable outcomes of the
unit ?
By the end of the lesson , pupils should be able to ;
- spell out the name of the sea animals by matching it to the correct
pictures.
- complete a simple sentences by doing jigsaw reading in group
- identify between dangerous and not dangerous animals by
completing a table ( non linear text )
- complete sentences by doing pair dictation
- identify sea animals by drawing pictures and describe it in
written form .
What do you anticipate as the challenges youll face in
implementing this unit , and how will you address those challenges
?
The challenges could possibly be the jigsaw reading in group work . It
is an active and fast pace of movement and the classroom
management could be mess up and noisy . Teacher could arrange the
students to line up instead of moving and running freely .

How you will assess the learners progress both during and at the end of the unit
?
List of materials : Story text , worksheets , sentence strip ,

Activity Notes

Warm up : Teacher shows a video story

after the story teacher asks students to name the fish that they saw in the
video .
Title : Angel ! Look out


Pre writing :

1. Teacher distributes a reading text of the same story and invite students
to go through the text while the teacher reads the text aloud
2. Teacher asks students to identify and circle the name of the sea animals
while reading through the text .
3. Teacher asks students to state the name of the sea animals that they
found in the text by calling any students randomly and write it on the
board .

Reading text
While writing :

1. Teacher distributes worksheets and ask students to name the
sea creatures by matching it to the correct pictures .
2. Jigsaw reading .Teacher group students into group of 5 and
each students will take their turn to take receive information and
take down notes . The group who finish it first will be the
winner .

Post writing :

1. Teacher invites students to do dictation in pairs . The pairs will
take their turns to read out the text and fill in the gap to
