Magazine Cover: Adobe Photoshop
Although this was only a short preliminary task, you have used Photoshop for this task and should
have developed your skills sufficiently to be able to produce the front cover of a magazine.
I have developed my skills with Adobe Photoshop with the help of teachers and my classmates. I
now feel comfortable using this system and feel able to complete my final coursework music
magazine item using this.
Image manipulation
You will have used Photoshop to manipulate your central image (s in some way, whether
importing, cropping, or resizing, for e!ample. "utline below the image manipulation skills used
during this pro#ect.
$or this pro#ect and the production of my magazine, I had to use Adobe Photoshop in order to
manipulate my main image which featured on my front cover. $irstly, I had to import the pictures
from the camera device and%or my documents. I then had to crop the pictures so they would fit into
the certain area I wanted them to. $or e!ample, I couldn&t fit a picture that was longer in length into
the desired space so I had to crop it. $ollowing this, I had to resize the image to fit into the A'
space I wanted to use as my front cover. I had to do this using a certain function so that the picture
would not end up blurry.
Tet manipulation
You should also have used Photoshop to create and manipulate te!t on your cover( changing the
size, colour or position of the fonts you used, for e!ample. "utline below the te!t manipulation
skills you used during this pro#ect.
)o create te!t that I used on my front cover, I used dafont.com. )his enabled me to choose from
many different fonts and I had a wide range to fit the target audience. $ollowing this, I had to print
screen and copy and paste this into Photoshop. )o resize and crop this image, I used the same
skills stated above. I also used the te!t tool that is available with the Photoshop system. )his
involved changing the size and colour, as well as the font. $or e!ample, I used this te!t for one of
my cover lines. I had to change the thickness of the te!t so that it didn&t look out of place on my
front cover.

You used the digital stills camera to take your photos for this pro#ect. *ist below any photographic
skills you have used in doing this (such as framing, focus etc
I used a camera to take my digital stills. )his involved knowing how to focus the camera as
well as framing the image. I had to decide before capturing an image if it would fit into rule
of thirds.

effectively have they allowed you to produce the kind of product you wanted to produce- .hat
further skills would you like to develop using these programmes-
I am very pleased with the skills that I have developed throughout this pro#ect. It enabled me to
give my magazine a professional finish. In future, I would like to develop my skills within these
programmes even further so that I can complete my final music magazine product without having
to have helped doing so.
