Decisions and Scholarships
Submission of Documents
Submit the hard copies of completed application
form and other required documents by postal mail or
in person.
B. The deadline for 2015 Spring application is October 10 (Friday), 2014 at 17:00 (Korea Time). The
Application is accepted when the application fee is paid and required documents are submitted.
However, if the internet is disconnected for unavoidable circumstances(ex. local situation),
applicants could make an application through postal mail or in person without online application.
In this case, applicants must submit all the required documents including application fee within
application period (September 15, 2014~October 10, 2014) in order for application to be accepted.
C. If the submitted documents are incomplete, or the application fee is not submitted, the applicant
would be excluded from consideration for admission.
2. Submission of Required Documents
A. Register application form via internet, print out and fll out the Ewha Womans University
application form, and submit with required documents by postal mail or in person.
B. Submitted documents or records will not be returned to the applicant. If the document is required
to be original and cannot be reissued, please submit the copy of the document with
Ewhas/issuing organizations/embassys confrmation of its authenticity on it.
C. The documents that are not in Korean or English must be translated to Korean or English and the
copy must be submitted with certifcation from a notary.
D. If the submitted documents are incomplete, or the application fee is not submitted, the applicant
will be excluded from candidates for admission.
E. The Ofce of Admissions may ask an applicant to submit additional documents not listed in the
Required Documents (pp.8-9), if there is a need to verify the authenticity of submitted materials.
F. In case where the applicant is found to be ineligible for application, or has made any
misrepresentation, alteration to the submitted documents (including those submitted by proxy), or
has perpetrated any other kind of fraud, the university may deny or revoke the applicants
admission or enrollment. This applies even if the fraudulence poses no immediate efect on the
applicants passing of admission. Those whose admission or enrollment is denied or revoked for
this reason may not reapply for admission to the university in the future.
3. Notifcation of Admission and Scholarship Result
Admissions and scholarship notifcations will be communicated through the Ofce of Admissions
website (http://enter.ewha.ac.kr) and via personal e-mail.

Applicants who are accepted conditionally should submit their TOPIK result or Certifcate of
Completion (Korean Intensive program Level 4) from Ewha Language Center during the specifed
period(by the early December or as soon as the course complete). If she doesnt submit or the result
doesnt meet our language requirements, the acceptance would be cancelled.
Notice for Admitted Students
All Admitted students will go through a registration process.
At each stage, the individual student will receive specifc information via e-mail.
Thus students should specify the e-mail address correctly when writing the application form.
1. Reply to the Letter of Afdavit
A. Registering students must submit the Letter of Afdavit during the specifed period (at the
beginning of December).
B. Letter of Afdavit can be submitted by postal mail, in person, or via e-mail.
C. Subsequent registration process will only be applied to students who have submitted the Letter of
Afdavit.
2. Obtaining Medical Insurance and Submission of Insurance Certifcate
A. All admitted international students must obtain medical insurance.
B. Applicants who already have insurance should submit the insurance certifcate during the
specifed period (in the middle of February).
C. If the applicants do not obtain the medical insurance, issuance of the Certifcate of Admission may
be limited.
International students have to maintain medical insurance during the period of attendance. If the
students do not maintain the medical insurance during the period of attendance, issuance of proof
of enrollment may be withheld.
3. Tuition Payment
A. Admitted students who are planning to register, must pay for the tuition fee during the specifed
period (in the end of December) to the designated bank.
B. Students receiving admissions from more than two universities in Korea, must choose only one
university. If the students violate this rule, their admission ofer will be revoked.
4. Submission of Additional Documents for Admitted Students
A. Applicants who are accepted conditionally should submit their TOPIK result or Certifcate of
Completion (Korean Intensive program Level 4) from Ewha Language Center during the specifed
period(by the early December or as soon as the course is complete). If one fails to submit the
certifcate or the result doesnt meet our language requirements, the acceptance would be
cancelled.
B. Chinese applicants who need visa issuance number to apply for student visa should to submit the
following documents during the specifed period (at the beginning of December) in order to issue
the visa.
(1) A copy of valid passport (2) A copy of ID card (3) Copies of parents ID cards (4) A copy of
household register (with whole family members on it) (5) Original ofcial document with

notarized certifcate that verify the family relationship between the applicant and both parents (6)
Original Students own bank statement (Minimum of 15,000 USD valid, issued within 3 months)
(7) Original degree certifcates issued by the China Academic Degree & Graduate Education
Development Center(http://www.cdgdc.edu.cn)(issued within 1 month) or the original Certifcate
of Graduation with a notarized certifcate
Except for students who already have submitted the documents noted above during the
application period.
C. Concerning the certifcates (including transcripts, diplomas, etc.) given by foreign institutions,
students must submit the Confrmation documents from a foreign educational institute, or
Confrmation document from consulate or embassy which are certifed and verifed by the
Korean Embassy where the institution is located by the middle of December. If the students are
from countries for Apostille certifcates, they can submit an Apostille certifcate issued by the
government where the institute is located.
D. Students who have submitted the Certifcate of Prospective Diploma when registering online
application must submit the Certifcate of Diploma to Ewha Womans University by February 28,
2015.

5. Certifcate of Admission and Student Visa
A. Certifcate of Admission will be given to students who have submitted Letter of Afdavit
B. Students must obtain a visa on their own.
C. Ofce of Admissions will exceptionally apply for visa issuance number to the Immigration Ofce in
Korea for admitted Chinese students who need visa issuance number at frst to apply for student
visa. Admitted Chinese students have to submit the required documents for visa issuance number
(Please refer to 4- Clause B. Submission of Additional Documents for Admitted Students).
Individual student will get visa issuance number after 3~4 weeks, and they need to visit the
nearest Korean consulate or embassy in China.
Chinese students who have student visa(D-2), any Korean visa which can be changed directly to
student visa (e.g: D-4), any Korean visa which allows you to study in Korea (e.g: A-1, A-3, D-5, D-9,
E-7, F-1, F-4, F-6, H-1, H-2, etc, except for the special cases such as not being allowed to study in
Korea due to separate provision) dont need to apply for visa issuance. (The kinds of visa written
above are in accordance with the regulation of Immigration Ofce. It can be changed without

notice, sometimes not applicable for every students situation, so please confrm yourselves with
the Immigration Ofce before working on it.)
6. Dormitory Application and Entrance
A. Students should apply for dormitory when submitting online application.
B. Those who apply for dormitory during the admission period have priority to enter the dormitory
by order of application. Availability of entrance will be individually notifed during the
registration period.
Please refer to p.17 for more information about dormitory.
7. Orientation for Freshmen Students and Course Registration
There will be an orientation for freshmen international students and course registration at the end of
February.
8. Course Opening and Physical Check-up
2015 incoming students are required to undergo a physical checkup administered by Ewha University
Health Service Center (slated for the beginning of each semester). If the student is found to have an
intractable disease or physical defect that may interfere with her academic performance, she must
comply with the universitys decision to take a leave of absence or to make other arrangements.

B. Selection Method
Recipients will be selected through a comprehensive evaluation of their abilities and potential as a
global female leader, based on submitted documents.
C. Scholarship Notifcation
The scholarship result will be notifed individually via personal e-mail after the admission
announcement.
D. Notice
The Ewha International Students Steering Committee may reduce or revoke the scholarship award
upon review, if the recipient fails to fulfll eligibility requirements for reasons such as dissatisfaction
of GPA requirement or inability to continue attendance at the university or conduct unbecoming of a
university student.
The recipients of the scholarship for incoming international students must possess a Medical
Insurance for the incoming semester in order to be qualifed to receive the scholarship.

2015 Spring Semester International Admitted Students
The Ofce of Admissions will help your application for prior entrance to dormitory in your frst
semester. We are trying our best to make sure of supplying, however, please understand that if
there is no room left, even prior entrance could be declined. Students can stay at dormitory in their
frst semester (fall admission) or frst two semesters(spring admission), but please note that each
student has to apply individually for dormitory starting from the summer or winter vacation and
second semester.
