It may be instructive to note the upload on PoliticsPA regarding left-wing polling of [inter alia]
Fitzpatrick; it includes the following, which was generated yesterday after another conjoint meeting of
all groups comprising the TEA [Taxed Enough Already] Party Movement in Pennsylvanias 8

Congressional District.

We urge Congressman Fitzpatrick do everything possible to support funding the
government without voting for a Continuing Resolution that funds ObamaCare.

The-tom-Sullivan-show-this-weekend-on-the-fox-business-network included an interview with David
Stockman; he said the 10/18/2013 ceiling is a mirage, because other monies can be juggled; thus,
taxation during the past three years of ObamaCare has provided $ that is to be used as subsidies starting
on 1/1/2014, $ that cannot now be spent [absent command/control of HHS/Treasury, which is blocked
by the pending CR-approval]. This is why it was advised, last week, that the Rs win if NOTHING occurs.

It may be recalled that the concept of piecemeal appropriation-passage was conveyed
directly to both Rafael Cruz and Jim DeMint on 8/29/2013 @ the Heritage Action rally;
this has provenby most estimatesto have become the major way the Ds hypocrisy
has been behaviorally revealed [segmented, sequential, strategic, shutdown], yielding
a polling-split [with updates presumably emerging in the a.m., a week into the event].

While homework completed in August is being recounted, it should be noted that the
ability to counter any claim that the Rs constitute the Party of NO! can be achieved
simply by citing the presumed replacement for ObamaCare introduced by Rep. Scalises
Republican Study Committee; this supplants work by Tom Price and John C. Goodman
[integrating their gravamen, per prior blasts], although this issue hasnt been raised.

Meanwhile, Cruz aced CNN, while Lew remained vague on FNC [during the a.m. interview shows], as
BHO called for striking union workers to be fired, police removed Vietnam war vets at the memorial-wall
and BHO insisted-on-refighting-Vietnam and iwo-jima-against-vets. Thus, it seems he has to have noted
that There were fleeting Benefits of Intransigence as First impressions of ObamaCare were negative, the
House GOP is tracking Steps to Fund Our Government [for example, by voting to allow contract priests
to-celebrate-mass] and Palin blasted the GOP-establishment's contempt for and destructive behavior
toward the Tea Party Movement. And comments were added to the heritage action defund tour-
Wilmington-Delaware website challenging a conspiracy-theorist regarding the credibility of this effort.

Guzzardis view is that the Bucks Co. Tea Party coalition needs to press Mike Fitzpatrick
on the Debt Ceiling Increase vote to take Joe Pitts position ["I agree with Sen. Obama's
position on the debt ceiling"]. Actually, Rep. Pitts is referring to then-Senator, now-
President Obamas [and that of all Senate-Ds] opposition to the effort of Bush-43 to
raise the debt ceiling in 2006, when the debt was much smaller. He posits that the group
of SEPA-Rs [Mike Fitzpatrick, Pat Meehan, Lou Barletta, Jim Gerlach and Charlie Dent]
should not adopt a position identical to that of the Dems and, instead, should refrain
from double-talk and waffling [as has occurred while resisting defunding ObamaCare].

738

This is the Rule by which BHO afforded Congress & staffs [c/o Office of Personnel Management] a special
deal detailing the requirement that they acquire insurance through the exchanges (Section 1312 of
ObamaCare) and that there is no employer contribution if an individual purchases through an exchange
(Section 1512 of ObamaCare); taxpayers give them a 72% contribution to their premium with the
Federal Employee Health Benefits Program, despite the ACA prohibition, which is a far better deal than
anyone else in the exchanges (since their subsidy is NOT based on their income, which is higher than
most people will get in the exchanges). [h/t Ross Schriftman]:

A bit of levity may be in-order; physician-groups have issued their assessments of ObamaCare:

Allergists were in favor of scratching it.
Anesthesiologists thought the whole idea was a gas.
Cardiologists didn't have the heart to say no.
Dermatologists advised not to make any rash moves.
Gastroenterologists had sort of a gut feeling about it.
Hematologists fear its anemic, increasingly infectious, and hemorrhaging money.
Independent Medical Examiners view it as a total disaster [medically, legally, socially, morally].
Internists claimed it would be a bitter pill to swallow, carrying dire systemic manifestations.
Neurologists thought the Administration had a lot of nerve.
Obstetricians felt certain everyone was laboring under a misconception.
Oncologists consider it to be a malignancy.
Ophthalmologists considered the idea shortsighted.
Pathologists yelled, "Over my dead body!"
Pediatricians said, "Oh, grow up!"
Plastic Surgeons opined that this proposal would "put a whole new face on the matter."
Podiatrists thought it was a step forward.
739

Psychiatrists thought the whole idea was madness.
Psychologists consider it to be pathologically grandiose and a manifestation of irrational thinking
typically associated with mania (Bipolar Disorder l), associated with a dual-diagnosis of character
disorder and/or substance abuse.
Radiologists could see right through it.
Surgeons decided to wash their hands of the whole thing.
Urologists were pissed-off at the whole idea.
Proctologists won out in the end, leaving the entire decision up to the assholes in D.C.

The latest from Drudge/Breitbart/RedState/realclearpolitics [noting GOP-unity is increasingly solid as
the hypocrisy of the Dems is burgeoning] do not add appreciably to the aforementioned narratives:

I have been trying to disseminate the points summarized in the following letter [provided in reaction to
how Fitzpatrick gave the GOP perspective on budget battles] among those in the TEA Party Movement
[Tea Party Patriots, Heritage Action, and FreedomWorks]; its so exquisitely simple:

It is vital that the effort to defund ObamaCare NOT be admixed with discussion of the
faux debt-ceiling; were the House to maintain its posture of passing individual bills [as is
what I've advised for two months, per Article I Section 7], then the dire consequences of
10/18/2013 will be as much of a dud as have been those the Dems predicted for the
Sequester and the CR-deferral [despite their best efforts to create a controversy].

Indeed, all Lew need do is use the tax-$ accrued during the past three years for
ObamaCare subsidies, inasmuch as he has not received "command and control"
authorization to expend these resources starting on 1/1/2014.

The GOP is winning the PR-battle, as the POTUS-ratings are cratering...and as people are
tasting what the Dems have forced upon America; inasmuch as Congressman Fitzpatrick
[and Rep. Peter King, a particularly outspoken critic of Cruz] won't sign-off on a
Discharge Petition, the status-quo will increasingly reveal the insensitivity and
intransigence of the Dems...and tarnish their carefully-cultivated self-images of
compassion and liberality. {Also noted: How hard is the October 17 deadline date?}

Good-Guys were out in-force yesterday [Sen. Ted Cruz with Candy Crowley on CNN's State of the Union]
while the reaction among the Dems was increasingly hysterical [Maher mocks WWII vets visiting closed
memorial: Nobody said they were the brightest generation; Nancy Pelosi: ObamaCare Is "A Dream
Come True"]. Particularly abhorrent is the wall-to-wall attack on Cruz being promulgated daily on
MSNBCs Morning Joe, as he is killed-with-faint-praise [Scarborough: Ted Cruz does love America];
indeed, on that same show [@ ~6:25 a.m. e.d.t.], Politico routinely provides them an anti-GOP theme
[e.g., GOP VA-Gubernatorial candidate Cuccinelli allegedly avoided being seen with Ted Cruz]. {Indeed,
this biased-policy is enhanced when Cruz-critics such as Coburn are invited to join in the attack upon the
TEA Party Movement while lamenting he would change ACA in a minute if he only could.}

Increasingly, the establishment-GOP is being upstaged, as a result, as the tea-party-
movement loosens-k-streets-stranglehold-on-the-gop; this may be accelerating as the
Public DIS-Approval of Health Care Law rises, as is true in an increasingly liberal state
[most Georgians blame democrats for shutdown and want ObamaCare repealed].
Meanwhile, while Pennsylvanians are going to see sharp insurance premiums-skyrocket,
genuine angst grows over empowering the POTUS more than he already has become
[issa: theres-a-reason-to-fear-Obama-agencies].

The shutdown is increasingly viewed as a dud [Shutdown? 83% of Federal Gov't Still Operating; the-only-
national-park-untouched-by-the-shutdown is Obamas-golf-course; during-shutdown, government union
742

officials-exempt-from-furloughs; FEEL THE PAIN: Feds throw man, 80, and wife, 77, out of home; Park
rangers ordered to keep visitors out of privately run businesses; feds-shut-down-isolated-inn-render-
employees homeless and jobless in one fell swoop; Close pull-offs to bar views of Mount Rushmore;
Slimdown exposing 'bloated' gov't?; & AMBER ALERT WEBSITE SHUT DOWN], as REID TAKES OVER and
STOPS SENATE VOTING. Telling is the flip of a sometimes-ally of Cruz, RAND PAUL, who now concurs that
PASSING APPROPRIATIONS BILLS is BETTER THAN adopting ONE FUNDING BILL.

At the onset, it is vital to differentiate what may be viewed as a sexy news-story [whether anyone will
challenge Mike Fitzpatrick in the upcoming primary] from what may actually transpire if he were to vote
aberrantly, from the perspective of the TEA {Taxed Enough Already} Party Movement. The former may
be viewed as the only type of threat he would be forced to honorinappropriatelybecause he is very
well-liked in Bucks County; the latter may be viewed as the only type of threat that would force him to
take-pauseappropriatelybecause the loss of the verve/vitality of his base would help the Dems.
744

Therefore, dissemination of the third Press Release was of particular import, for he has been reminded
that the TPM is in this for the long-haul; he must be able either to refute us or to respect our wishes.
{Elaborative comment on this concern was provided by this physician on this [Governing gambit] page.}

Emphasized during the past week by this physicianand corroborated during recent
daysis the faux deadline being promulgated by BHOs alarmists: the Debt Ceiling.
Indeed, Tom Sullivan hosted David Stockman [10/6/2013, podcast unavailable] who said
nothing happens on 10/18/13 because the first major payment is due on 10/31/2013,
the true date-of-consequence. This point was @ the heart of an essay posted this-a.m.
[The only way we default on the debt is if we fail to pay the interest on the public
debt. According to the updated budget projection from the CBO, interest on the debt
will be roughly $237 billion for 2014. Thanks to the short-term revenue benefits of the
fiscal cliff and ObamaCare tax hikes, the federal government is expected to rake in a
record $3.042 trillion from the private economy this year.] and, thus, despite warnings,
Chicken-Little will have a difficult time convincing Americans that the sky is falling
[despite china warns us as superpower expresses concern for $13tn of investments]
and, indeed, that will be more difficult after the recent duds [Sequester and Shutdown].

As reported in Fridays Blast, Mike wont support a Discharge Petition, and subsequent revelations
of this posture have included Rep. King and, today, two of the SEPA-Reps. [barletta-backs-off-clean-cr
and dent-says-no-to-discharge-petition]. Thus, as unity continues to prevail, the latest from the House is
that the House GOP Wants Another 'Supercommittee' For Spending and Debt while Obama Says Talks
OK... After Default Threat Averted; ponder the import of this characterization of his posturing:

The performance of the White House Press Corps during President Obama's Tuesday
afternoon briefing resulted in not a single question that seriously challenged the
president or even made him uncomfortable. The hour-long affair was more like a
conversation between the like-minded on issues such as the ongoing budget battles and
going around congress by raising the debt ceiling by executive fiat. Anyone who
remembers the non-stop confrontation directed at President Bush just a few years ago,
by this same group of reporters, would not recognize them today.

The need to scrutinize the media has prompted the Freedom Center to announce its new initiative,
TruthRevolt.org, which is gearing-up to expose the hypocrisies and mendacities of the leftwing media,
and confront them with a counter-attack they won't be able to handle. [For example, has MSNBC/CNN
reported that BHOs advisor dan-pfeiffer tweeted n-word?] Meanwhile, Fox News Detailed BHOs venal
Shutdown Tactics, including Gestapo-tactics-meeting-senior-citizens-at-Yellowstone. Illustrating the bias
inherent in these behaviors is approval of the fact that Pro-Amnesty Forces Rallied on the National Mall
[noting that todays House Immigration Bill Hearing Delayed Amid Government Shutdown and Criticism].
{One wonders if they will permit Sunday's 'Million Vet March' to Demand BHO Open Memorials.}

Although the focus in these blasts have not focused on the Scandal-Sheet, it should be
noted that secrecy bounds [Issa: IRS Officials Sent Confidential Tax Info to Private Email
Accounts and Sen. Cornyn: Censorship of Fast & Furious Whistleblower Shows WH
Hiding Something]. Thus, its not surprising that the ObamaCare marketplace allows for
personal-data to be used for law-enforcement-and-audit-activities.

Michael David Sklaroff is a student at Brandeis University who lives outside Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
His major academic interests are Economics, Business, Mathematics, Computers and Political Science.
He wrote an essay regarding Enhanced Interrogation that was published in the Philadelphia Bulletin.

Yesterday, this physician spoke @ a meeting of the TEA Party Patriots in Lower Bucks County, and the
assessment provided thereat [pre-heard by Larry Mendte, a few hours earlier] recapitulated what had
been said earlier by Rob Boysen; there is no plan to primary Mike, but gross deviation from basic
conservative values would probably enervate traditionally energetic support he has received, for years.
He knows this, and the fact that a third Press Release was issued four days ago illustrates the fact that
this amalgamated group has developed a sustained level of interaction that [as they say] has legs.
Therefore, he should feel relieved [on one hand] but on-edge [on the other hand], reverberating as is
determined by events and his reaction thereto; we would prioritize the defunding of ObamaCare over
either the desire to end the shut-down/slow-down or the intent to mitigate upcoming political threats.

It is curious that the fact that OBAMA APPROVAL DROPPED TO 37% was buried in an
article on NPR that again blamed the shut-down on the Rs. To appreciate how much
effort is being expended by the media to defend BHO, listen to how rep-duffy-told-
andrea-mitchell [i-think-the-media-should-start-doing-its-job.] over her protestations.
Explaining why Rush routinely bans paying attention to MSNBC are these quotations
[MATTHEWS: BOEHNER LIKE 'REASONABLE' GUY DEALING WITH 'TERRORISTS' BEHIND
HIM and MSNBC HOST: BOEHNER ASKING OBAMA TO HAVE 'CONVERSATION ABOUT
HOW YOU BEAT YOUR WIFE', and Chris Hayes Blames Constitution for the Shutdown].
Although CNN's Cooper Gets Defensive After Rep. Labrador Challenges Objectivity, even
CNN'S BLITZER noted OBAMACARE SIGN-UP GLITCHES are 'PRETTY EMBARRASSING.'

These events corroborate an essay that details How the Left Will 'Defend' the ObamaCare Train Wreck,
even as its possible some of the Media are Turning on Obama's Shutdown Strategy; there is a long way
to go, noting that Carl Bernstein claimed [also on MSNBC] the Media Must Stop 'McCarthy Wing' of the
Republican Party and that a Slate Columnist claimed Republicans are Like Ayatollahs. Counterpointing
these data is the claim by Reid that the Media are 'Unfair' to Dems on Government Shutdown, even as
BHO has defunded cancer therapy but funded Big Bird [$445 Million]. In a Shutdown Lie of Omission,
the WaPo Exploited Cancer Victim [Nowhere does the Post tell its readers the truth: that House
Republicans have offered a compromise spending bill that will fund the NIH and get Ms. Langbehn the
treatment she needs. The problem is that Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid won't allow the
compromise legislation a vote in the Senate, and President Obama has promised to veto it.].

LIMBAUGH feels OBAMA HELD PANIC PRESS CONFERENCE, noting what he said [Obama
Laments Republicans in 'Gerrymandered' Districts; Obama: 'We Can't Make Extortion'
Part of 'Our Democracy'; Obama: House GOP Scared of Tea Party; Obama: GOP Making
U.S. 'Deadbeat']; in the process, he provided his allies the Media Mantra of the Day
['Just Put It Up For a Vote'] and was contradicted by MOODY'S about default threat.

Along with Duffy [vide supra], Toomey destroyed Mika on MSNBC, although he seemed to discount the
ability to defund ObamaCare despite the fact that its intrusions on privacy are enhanced by such info as
this IRS-related revelation [WHITE HOUSE and IRS EXCHANGED CONFIDENTIAL TAXPAYER INFO]. Also,
BHOs push-back entails helping conservatives attack true-conservatives [e.g., Daily Caller Declares
one-day-old Truth Revolt Responsible for 2012 Republican Presidential Defeat] as Establishment
748

Conservative Journalists Met Off-the-Record with Obama at White House [In a clear attempt to woo
largely establishment conservative commentators who have loudly opposed the GOPs current
government shutdown strategy, BHO held an off-the-record meeting with the Washington Posts Charles
Krauthammer, the Wall Street Journal editorial page editor Paul Gigot, National Reviews Washington
editor Robert Costa, syndicated columnist and former CNN co-host Kathleen Parker, and Byron York of
the Washington Examiner.]. {Follow-up: Hypocritical HuffPo Blasts Truth Revolts Sharpton Petition}
Manifesting this effort to tarnish Cruz are quotes from A.B. Stoddard [detailed in prior blasts] which

Apparently No One's Really Persuaded by PPP's Latest Survey
So, how worried should Republicans be about losing the House? A PPP poll suggested
they should, surveying GOP districts, asking a series of questions prefaced with the claim
that the incumbent House Republican is responsible for the shutdown, and finding
(surprise!) those incumbents in bad shape against generic Democrats.

The Huffington Post's Mark Blumenthal and Ariel Edwards-Levy:

The drop in congressional approval measured by Gallup will likely lead
to drops in the "reelect" numbers for incumbent Republicans. However,
skepticism is in order for the MoveOn/PPP results mostly because they
were conducted by a Democratic pollster and sponsored by a liberal
advocacy group. Our analyses have shown that polls with partisan
sponsorship typically exhibit a bias of 3 to 4 percentage points in favor
of their sponsor on vote preference questions.

Frequent PPP critic Nate Cohn noted on Monday that the "generic"
question (which pits incumbents against an unnamed challenger)
overlooks the importance of viable challengers: "Democrats aren't yet
poised to mount serious challenges to a clear majority of the
Republicans running on competitive turf, let alone actually win. So you
should probably take this morning's PPP poll with an additional grain of
salt: it's about how House Republicans would fare against a 'generic'
Democrat, not the mediocre one they'll face in 2014."

Stuart Rothenberg just rips PPP to shreds:

PPP isn't your typical polling firm. Its surveys often are intended to
boost Democratic recruiting, fundraising or prospects. In this case, the
"polls" were almost certainly commissioned to create a narrative about
the political repercussions of the shutdown and the nature of the
midterms.

749

It's no coincidence, then, that the PPP memo accompanying the results,
written by Jim Williams, observes, "The surveys challenge the
conventional wisdom that gerrymandering has put the House out of
reach for Democrats."

Not surprisingly, the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee
sent out multiple fundraising emails in the hours after reports of the
PPP polls surfaced, and dozens of Democratic candidates and liberal
groups did the same.

That's the standard modus operandi these days on both the right and
the left: have a sympathetic media organization or polling firm assert
some alleged finding, and then have fellow travelers cite the initial
report to try to raise cash or create momentum. It is becoming (yawn
excuse me) a little trite.

Rothenberg continues:

Of course, the "polls" did not include head-to-head ballot tests of likely
nominees (even though the surveys could have included candidate
names in many contests), but instead relied on a messy question that
was part "re-elect" and part "generic ballot." The results are of little or
no use because that is not the choice voters will face on Election Day.

Moreover, at least five of the 17 Republicans who are "losing" either
have no serious opposition or have less-than-top-tier opponents at this
point: Steve King (Iowa's 4th District), Andy Barr (Kentucky's 6th), Kerry
Bentivolio (Michigan's 11th), Patrick Meehan (Pennsylvania's 7th) and
Sean P. Duffy (Wisconsin's 7th). Bentivolio may not survive a GOP
primary.

Each PPP survey asked seven substantive questions and four
demographic ones. Some of the questions were loaded, and as I have
noted previously in dissecting PPP polls, the "more likely/less likely"
question is a horrible one to use in surveys because it tends to measure
the underlying attitude rather than gather useful information about an
issue's eventual importance as a vote cue.

Even a writer at Daily Kos had to note:

Informed ballots such as these, though, must always be viewed with
caution. They represent an ideal environment where one side is able to
widely disseminate its preferred message, without pushback or
interference from the other side. In other words, a scenario nothing like
what you encounter in the real world. That said, though, these polls
show that hammering Republicans over the shutdown has the potential
to be effective across a very diverse array of districts. And while 3 points

might not sound like a lot, seven Republicans and nine Democrats won
House races by less than that amount in 2012.

It's also worth noting that, like informed ballots, polling against generic
candidates represents a sort of idealized situation as well. In some
races, Democrats may not land serious challengers; in others,
Democratic candidates may stumble or fail to gain traction. On the
flipside, sometimes an actual candidate will perform better than a
generic unnamed option because of their strong personal attributes.
Early on, when you're more than a year out from Election Day, generic
ballots can serve as a helpful metric, but reality will ultimately diverge in
most cases.

Keep in mind, a majority party in the House is going to face some dangers when the
country is angry at Washington and there is a slow economy.

An Entitlement Reform Path Out of the Current Mess?

Paul Ryan floats a bargain to get out of the current stalemate in the Wall Street Journal:

If Mr. Obama decides to talk, he'll find that we actually agree on some
things. For example, most of us agree that gradual, structural reforms
are better than sudden, arbitrary cuts. For my Democratic colleagues,
the discretionary spending levels in the Budget Control Act are a major
concern. And the truth is, there's a better way to cut spending. We
could provide relief from the discretionary spending levels in the Budget
Control Act in exchange for structural reforms to entitlement programs.

One big hitch: Obama thinks he's winning the shutdown now, and figures at some point, House
Republicans will fold and pass both a clean CR to fund the government and a hike in the debt
ceiling. Is he really going to end the current state of play by signing on to potentially painful,
potentially controversial entitlement reform?

Is the American Public Too 'Tuned Out' for Our Current Arguments?

Conservatives believe, with some evidence, that the reason people disagree with them is
because those people are uniformed or misinformed.

Katherine Rodriguez:

[Obama speechwriter Jon Favreau] said the reason most people oppose
the Affordable Care Act is because people are "susceptible to billions of
dollars of advertising telling them Obama's going to take away their
health care and a weird Uncle Sam with tweezers is going to inspect
you."

. . . Fifty-five percent of Americans who say they are most likely to
disapprove of the law are also the ones who know the most about it,
751

according to Gallup. The poll also said that one-in-three young
Americans from age 18-34 are least familiar with but most optimistic
about the law.

Derek Dye, the executive director for the Doctor Patient Medical
Association, argued that Favreau's sentiment is backward because the
public mostly identified ObamaCare as the talking points that helped
create support for the law.

"ObamaCare is much more complex than those talking points make it
sound, and as people learn more about the law public opinion has only
gone down," said Dye, 25.

I was reminded of Favreau's recent comment after reading Jack Shafer's book review of
Ilya Somin's Democracy and Political Ignorance:

"The sheer depth of most individual voters' ignorance may be shocking
to readers not familiar with the research," Somin writes on his first
page. Many Americans don't know how the government works, they
don't know much about who runs the government, and they're clueless
about how government programs work. For instance, a 2006 Zogby poll
reported that only 42 percent of respondees could name the three
branches of government. In another survey from that year, only 28
percent could name two or more of the five rights in the First
Amendment, and a 2002 study indicated that 35 percent believed that
the words "From each according to his ability to each according to his
need" could be found in the Constitution. CNN found in its 2011 poll
that Americans estimated on average that foreign aid consumes 10
percent of the federal budget when it actually takes up less than 1
percent.

None of the alternatives impress Somin, who brings his book to a close
by suggesting that if the American people don't know anything about
their government and they don't want to know anything about it that
if they're not interested in monitoring and tending the colossus they've
built then maybe it shouldn't exist on the scale that it does. He
doesn't put it in exactly those terms, but he does hold that downsizing
and decentralizing the federal government would reduce the labor
required to keep informed and thereby reducing voter ignorance.

Elsewhere in the review, it's clear the public isn't growing more informed over time:

When the Pew Research Center study compared the political knowledge
of 1989 respondents with those from 2007 it found the advent of
multiple 24-hour news channels, the C-SPAN channels, and hundreds of
news sites on the Web had not moved the political ignorance dial in any
appreciable way. Nor have massive rises in education over the past half-
century put a dent in political ignorance, Somin finds. "On an education-
752

adjusted basis, political knowledge may actually have declined, with
1990s college graduates having knowledge levels comparable to those
of high school graduates in the 1940s," he writes, even though IQ scores
have been rising.

I'll bet a lot of the politically "tuned in" Americans think the "tuned out" Americans'
overall judgment -- well beyond the political sphere -- is eroding, as well. We've seen
our fellow countrymen buying houses they can't afford. We've seen them go deeply into
debt to get a college education, and then major in a field with extremely limited earning
and career prospects. We've seen young men (and not just young men) create a child
and then refuse to take care of those children. We don't take care of our health. We
don't save for the future. We drink, gamble, take drugs, sleep around.
Yes, we've always had folks with bad judgment. But societies are built by groups who
make good decisions, bad decisions, and a mix of both. If we have too many folks
making bad decisions, our problems worsen.

You'll forgive me for linking to Matt Yglesias, as he describes a bit of social science
research suggesting that poverty and bad judgment feed upon each other in a cycle:

A study published last week in the journal Science shows that the stress
of worrying about finances can impair cognitive functions in a
meaningful way. The authors gathered evidence from both low-income
Americans (at a New Jersey shopping mall) and the global poor (looking
at farmers in Tamil Nadu, India) and found that just contemplating a
projected financial decision impacted performance on spatial and
reasoning tests.

Among Americans, they found that low-income people asked to ponder
an expensive car repair did worse on cognitive-function tests than low-
income people asked to consider cheaper repairs or than higher-income
people faced with either scenario. To study the global poor, the
researchers looked at performance on cognitive tests before and after
the harvest among sugarcane farmers. Since it's a cash crop rather than
a food one, the harvest signals a change in financial security but not a
nutritional one. They found that the more secure postharvest farmers
performed better than the more anxious preharvest ones.
Final note is made [h/t Guzzardi] that gov-actuaries-say-ObamaCare-will-increase-health-care-spending

I do worry about the Republican Party, he said at the Hero Summit hosted by The Daily

Townhall, The Blaze, and The Weekly Standard distributed the video of Thursdays Press Conference
[mother forced to choose between new health plan or food]; the clip has this physicians American flag
and sons statement, and the intelligencer story included video [doctors and others lament-health-law].
This event again exemplified the ahead of the curve level of Bucks County activism, piggy-backing on
the three Press Releases provided to Mikeas nudges to recall his originswhile problems abound with
the partial-shutdown [states are paying, without retroactive reimbursement, to open-national-parks]
and with the ObamaCare launch [Two People Attend 'ObamaCare and You!' Event in South Carolina and
Sebelius event in Pittsburgh turns into debacle and Ezra Klein: Admin Has Done 'Terrible Job Launching'
ObamaCare and Only 51,000 Completed ObamaCare Applications]. Today, it was reported by the WaPo
that ObamaCare Technical Problems Worsen [[T]he ObamaCare site problems are even worse than
originally believed. It is not just the buyer-end of the ObamaCare website that is unworkable; so is the
back end that is supposed to tell insurance providers who their new customers are. This might also
explain why the White House is refusing to release to the media the number of ObamaCare enrollees:
they just don't know health-exchange-sending-confusing-enrollment-information-to-insurers].
{Additionally: thousands-of-doctors-fired-by-united-healthcare and NBC News Slams ObamaCare:
'Focus of Ridicule Complete Mess' and ObamaCare: It's all about control.}

The Obama administration will rely on emotional anecdotes and incomplete data to
help defend their signature law -- once its websites are fixed and people can actually
enroll, that is. Critics will counter with reams of statistics proving that ObamaCare
violates its core promises. While empirical evidence is indispensable, it's also critical to
showcase real people who are being actively harmed by the law. Meet this young,
disabled mother from Allentown, Pennsylvania:

"It would take food out of our mouths to be able to afford these coverages."

Heartbreaking. ObamaCare will force this woman, her husband and their five-year-old
son to choose between obtaining coverage and putting food on the table. The law's
"affordable" premiums will hike the family's bills by hundreds of dollars compared to
their current plan. They can't afford the change, so a desperate decision awaits. This is
why so many Americans have forcefully opposed ObamaCare for so long. It's not about
"hating" the president. It's not about racial animus. It's not about protecting the rich. It
has nothing to do with any of the red herrings proponents toss out to sully and impugn
opponents' motives. The truth is that this law hurts people, breaks virtually all of the
major promises upon which it was sold, and is simply unaffordable to a federal
government that's already facing a long-term debt crisis.

HHS Secretary Sebelius, who told Americans this week that ObamaCare's exchanges are
"simple and user-friendly," was confronted with a potent dose of reality in Pittsburgh
yesterday; BHO is now reportedly considering dismantling and rebuilding elements of
760

the foundering online portals. These failures are so glaring that the media can't even try
to gloss over them. CBS News ripped the ObamaCare launch as "nothing short of
disastrous" earlier in the week, and now NBC News is piling on:

If it werent for the shutdown dominating the news, we admittedly
would be hearing and covering a lot more about how things are going
for these new health care exchanges, which were rolled out ten days
ago, Williams said. Millions of uninsured Americans are being
encouraged to go to healthcare.gov to sign up for coverage but its been
a very rocky start. ... By most accounts the website has been a
complete mess, locking up, crashing and kicking off potential
customers, Costello said. Of the 260 people who tried to sign up at
this Miami clinic in the first week, only a single person got through. One,
from 260 attempts, applications counselor Cristina Marrero said,
laughing.

I'll leave you with a tip of the cap to Mary Katharine Ham. Check out her detailed
prediction from November 2012: "This is a giant tech undertaking which will need to
serve many localities with different needs, link existing technologies and personnel with
a new, giant federal hub, and somehow make sure all of them work together to
smoothly to guide consumers who have no idea what to expect in subsidies or services
through a brand new web portal for health insurance. They have less than a year to
accomplish this. It seems there has been no pilot program, no training, and no beta
testing. This thing is ORCA on steroids." So right it hurts.

Optimism is to be disseminated by The Bob [guzzardi and dr. bob] and by others [Continue the Fight

D.C.-pressure to end the ObamaCare and Debt Ceiling Fight has intensified noting that,
allegedly, the house GOP budget proposal surrendered on both ObamaCare and limiting
spending, having caved for having proposed both LIFTING THE DEBT CEILING AND
REOPENING GOVERNMENT. Later in the day, however, Obama Rejected House Offer

was composed by this physician to discount Boehners claim on Thursday that this
political war is being fought on two-fronts [for these are two-sides-of-the-came-coin]:

"Just Say 'NO'!"
All that need be done is...to do nothing!
The debt-ceiling passes without incident, and the sky doesn't fall.
This mirrors the sequester and the shutdown.
Then use $ collected during the past three years under ObamaCare.
$ for supplements must be diverted to pay other creditors.
This kills two birds with one stone.

The mood that allegedly had prompted the GOP to blink stemmed from a widely-disseminated poll c/o
NBC-News/WS-Journal [entities that represent the Dems and the GOP-Establishment respectively]; thus,
in addition to its being debunked by Rush, the following was issued by Heritage Action:
762

Yesterday, President Obama asked House Republicans "what's it going to take to" end
the shutdown. You and I know the right answer: it has to do with ObamaCare. The
reason the government remains shut down is because the President and his allies in
Congress refuse to acknowledge their law is hurting the American people. And as
pressure mounts from the Washington and New York City media, even some opponents
of ObamaCare are looking for a face-saving exit.

Not fighting isn't an option for those hurt by ObamaCare.

A clumsy exit may be a fine political strategy, but it isnt fine for the Waschura family
who will see their premiums increase by $10,000 per year. It wont be fine for the
15,000 spouses of UPS employees who will be locked out of the company's health plan.
Nor will it be fine for employees at 300+ companies who have seen their hours slashed
thanks to ObamaCare.

The fight over ObamaCare is now.

The path to victory was never going to be easy, but for many Americans the stakes are
too high, the costs too great, to wait until 2017 for relief. As the problems with
ObamaCare mount, the hardship will grow. Mr. President, what's it going to take for you
to realize that?

Conservatives conveyed their revamped message @ the Values Voters Summit, after which a straw-poll
for POTUS-16 showed Cruz Crushing the field; 'Reaganesque' Cruz was embraced for ObamaCare
defiance, while Family Research Council President declared Cruz to be the 'De Facto Leader' of GOP.
Earlier, CRUZ had explained why AMERICA ONLY HAS A COUPLE YEARS TO TURN AROUND; cruz rallied

interrupted by hecklers. Limbaugh Defended Cruz and Lee Against Establishment Republicans although
he also discounted the claim by Van JONES that he should APOLOGIZE TO GOP; also, BACHMANN avers
OBAMACARE is the 'LINE IN THE SAND BETWEEN POLICE STATE AND CONSTITUTIONAL REPUBLIC.'

Hand-to-hand combat continues, as Mark Levin claimed 'Mitch McConnell Should Be
Defeated' and tea party nation withdrew its endorsement of mitch mcconnell. Also,
Huelskamp claimed GOP Leadership Forgetting Tea Party Gave Them House Majority,
and TEA PARTY PATRIOTS determined PAUL RYAN 'LOSING HIS FOCUS' ON OBAMACARE.
On this issue, Ben Carson: ObamaCare worst thing to happen to the U.S. since slavery;
on a larger plane, there is a GROWING BACKLASH TO GOVERNMENT SURVEILLANCE and
recognition [by Tavis Smiley] that 'Black People Will Have Lost Ground in Every Single

It appears the GOP caved and, thus, this elaborative analysis of the past few days of key-hyperlinks
[focused on ObamaCare/Debt] explains why the GOP should not have BLINKED [quoting Cruz from
~10 weeks ago] and the Dems should have been exposed as having created a crisis by inter alia having
issued falsely dire predictions of a falling-sky. The GOP should have continued to focus on the issues and
should have brushed-off discussion of [demonized] personalities; that boehner-eyed-a house-vote-on-
senate-bill and then was to-allow-vote-on-senate-deal reflects the victory of Wall St. over Main St. Thus,
a meeting will be held @ 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday 10/22/2013 [@ the usual location] of the coalition of
conservative activist-groups in the 8
th
Congressional District; a plan will be discussed thereat regarding
11/4/2014 and, specifically, Guzzardi [who is returning from Cyprus on Sunday] will be in-attendance.

Yesterday [OCT 15, 2013], Pew reported polling that undermines the credibility of the
oft-cited NBC/WSJ claims (release of which, on Friday, failed to budge the good-guys):
As Debt Limit Deadline Nears, Concern Ticks Up But Skepticism Persists (Despite Image
Problems, GOP Holds Ground on Key Issues). Such healthy-trends must be emphasized,
as the combo of Dems and Wall St. Rsaided/abetted by the DbM [Drive-by-Media]
attempts desperately to steam-roller the TEA [Taxed Enough Already] Party Movement.
When they complain this stubbornness is supplanting discussion of the weaknesses
of ObamaCare, they merely evince [profoundly, unabashedly] a self-fulfilling prophesy,
rather than doing the job of political leadership and/or journalistic professionalism.

This physician is guilty of focusing upon this issue to the exclusion of all others, for it does carry great
historic implications; nevertheless, a few other items merit citation. Prominent among them is the fact
that BHOs support for Syrian rebels has again been questioned as they continue to commit atrocities
[christian-priest-behead-in-syria-as-crowd-cheers-takes-pictures WARNING, this is highly-graphic] and
anti-Christian events occur in Egypt [Coptic Leaders Condemn Obama Adviser's Anti-Coptic Tweets].

implosion of the postal service; house-names-farm-bill-conferees [Heritage Action is scoring against both
portions of the Farm Bill, as per personal communication]; and NSA Hid Explosions and Delays at $1.2
Billion Spy Compound. As to the State of the Union, watch Charlie Chaplin's final speech [in the film,
the great dictator], updated graphically, and then wince again @ what is now transpiring in D.C.

Not that it would attract attention in the current environment, but it has been alleged
Occidental College transcripts provide concrete evidence to annul Obama presidency.
On a broader scale, a phenomenon noted regularly on MSNBC [particularly via Melissa
Harris Perry] is a claim that the GOP is manifesting Racism [particularly with regard to
the shutdown], a Charge that serves as a Convenient Distraction to Avoid Discussion of
the perils of ObamaCare [e.g., Media Drooled over a Lone Million Vet March Protester

Affording hope is Fox having jumped to Top 5 in overall cable ratings during shutdown.

[in-budget-and-debt-fight-white-house-finds-unlikely-alliance-in-business-community]:

When the call ended, Jarrett entered the Roosevelt Room of the White
House to meet with lobbyists for the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, the
National Association of Manufacturers, the Financial Services
Roundtable and other business groups representing aerospace and
technology companies. During the meeting, Jarrett and Brian Deese,
deputy director of the Office of Management and Budget, asked the
business groups to encourage their member companies to
communicate with lawmakers on the urgency of finding a negotiated
solution, according to a person at the meeting who spoke on the
condition of anonymity because the conversation was private.

Many firms have already begun such efforts. Alarmed by the standoff in
Washington, companies such as Caterpillar are encouraging their

employees to call and write lawmakers to reopen the government and
raise the debt ceiling.

Trade groups such as the U.S. Chamber are also discussing an
unprecedented step: supporting more moderate candidates in
primaries. In the past, the groups have gone to enormous lengths to
support mostly Republican campaigns but only to beat Democrats,
not other Republicans.

But it isnt just Crony Socialism.
ObamaCare Website Glitches Reveal Larger Government Problem

The U.S. government spends more than $80 billion a year for
information-technology services, yet the resulting systems typically take
years to build and often are cumbersome when they launch.

Government websites arent exactly technological marvels, andwait
$80 billion a year? On IT?

How on Earth is that even possible? If every single Federal
Communications Commission (FCC) bureaucrat spent 9-5 Monday-
Friday all year throwing 20s out of windows they couldnt get to $80
billion.

I doubt every private company in California combined spends $80 billion
a year on IT. The federal government does for these pathetic results.
Again, the ObamaCare website is but one symptom of a government-
wide disease Technological Corrupt Boobery. Yet the bumbling,
unscrupulous Obama Administration is dramatically (and often illegally)
increasing its role in the private Tech sector. It has:
1. Imposed Network Neutrality.
2. Asked Congress to insert it into what should be a private sector
secondary spectrum market auction.
3. Been contemplating the imposition of anti-free market rules for
said auction (which is probably why it asked Congress to insert it
even though we know itll only make things worse).
4. Imposed cell phone price caps.
5. Imposed prison phone call price caps.
6. Time and again micro-managed cable TVs channel placement.
Amongst other things on which they have little idea but grand designs.

Electorally, the liberal national journal published a charlie cook column that detailed how the GOP can
win the senate; also, Nate Silver discounted the Media's Shutdown Narrative [fivethirtyeight]

This is the message from Heritage Action: Giving Up is Not an Option

Yesterday, the House planned to vote on a plan that would end the government
shutdown, raise the debt ceiling, and reverse the exemption of Members of Congress
from ObamaCare.

This plan did nothing to stop ObamaCare from harming the American people and driving
up insurance premiums. Thats why we announced a key vote against the plan.

>> See the latest from our fight to defund ObamaCare.
769

Last night, the House cancelled the vote. This morning on Fox News, our CEO Mike
Needham explained why were still fighting ObamaCare.

>> Watch the Fox News interview.

We oppose deals to fund the government that lack concessions from Democrats on
ObamaCare. The American people are being seriously harmed by ObamaCare. Thats
why were in this fight.

Thank you for standing with us against ObamaCare.

The Internet is awash with articles about obama in wonderland, The Tea Party [and the GOP Crackup],
McConnell [and the Shutdown], the Republicans [Beat a Retreat] and ObamaCare [Wonkblog Is Wrong].

The government is out on our wallets all the time. They will never be as frugal or
careful with our money as are we. (800,000 non-essential personnel, anyone? How
about on-our-dime government rap videos, or Star Trek videos, or Gilligans Island
videos?)

Government is inherently less competent than we are. Because they dont create
wealth they take it from those who do. If they were more competent, they would be
making it rather than taking it.

And the more skills required in any given sector, the worse government gets it
wrong. Tech requires a lot of skills. So government like with the ObamaCare websites
ends up getting it way, way wrong. Exorbitantly, expensively wrong.

Ultimately, government is less careful, less qualified people bossing around people who
know and do more. The more government insists on doing, the worse things get in the
productive world.

The solution is to minimize as much as possible the amount of things government tries
to do. Which, incidentally, is for what the Constitution calls. But lets also do it to
prevent government from serially embarrassing itself.

Confidence will come not from tweaks to a horrendous ObamaCare website for a
horrendous ObamaCare. It will come from the government getting out of the private
sectors way and back to its intended roles and size.

The task presented to Constitutional Conservatives has been clarifiedas per Rush yesterday afternoon
and as per a spate of phone calls thereafterand that is to target all who broke campaign promises to
fight ObamaCare; if any doubt existed as to why its necessary to carpe diem, the surprises within the
deal -tucked-in-senate-debt-bill [including stripping Congress of the Power-To-Increase-Debt-Ceiling
and McConnells Kentucky Kickback] delegitimizes any conjured rationalization for having acquiesced to
this manifestation of abject GOP-surrender [by its Wall St. faction, not its Main St. TEA Party faction]
to BHOs 'Deception and Demagoguery' and partisan-vitriol-destroying hope of bipartisan harmony
[noting that Limbaugh concluded that the Establishment GOP has been Throwing Away the Tea Party].

Perhaps because the Tea Party Express Chairwoman Amy Kremer predicted this past
January that Sen. Chambliss would be 'primaried', he decided not to seek re-election,
yielding an environment in which the GOP establishment in Georgia wants to tamp
down tea party fervor ahead of a primary election for an open US Senate seat [with its
aim being to prevent a primary that yields a candidate who can't win a general election].
Thus, on cue, Chambliss blamed defund ObamaCare effort for bad debt-ceiling deal,
views mirrored by john-mccain, Peter King, and other usual suspects.

Compiled are the Republicans who supported this sell-out and how-the-pa-delegation-voted; released
simultaneously are fundraising-winners-and-losers and, specifically, that Fitzpatrick-pulled a $462k-haul-
to-fight-dem-opponents [notwithstanding whether he would need to invoke these funds in a primary].
This latter point is supported by points made in his statement Wednesday night regarding the Houses
passage of this bipartisan Senate compromise bill which reopens the government at sequester levels
and temporarily raises the debt limit while requiring income verification for ObamaCare subsidies and
forces a budget conference between the House and Senate {with the following being its text}:

The budget impasse will be resolved through the bipartisan Senate compromise which
has my support.

Without these efforts supported by members of both parties, the budget impasse may
have lasted much longer. That was unacceptable.

By extending the debt ceiling and funding the government, I intend to play an active role
in furthering the policies which found bipartisan support during the impasse: repeal of
the job crushing Medical Device Tax, make Members of Congress and the Administration
live under the Affordable Care Act, and delaying the individual mandate in light of the
atrocious and inept roll-out of the presidents healthcare law for individuals and families.

When Congress re-convenes, I intend to push bills which will retain the consumer
protections of the Affordable Care Act while eliminating the harmful portions of the law.

771

Furthermore, I am encouraged that the past two weeks have refocused the leaders of
both parties to find lasting solutions to put our country back on track. Within this
compromise there is a framework to do that. I hope that the frustration and fatigue of
managing by crisis will get officials to the table with sincere resolve.

It is for this reason that the prior blast e-mail contained revelation of a scheduled meeting @ 7:30
p.m. on Tuesday 10/22/2013 [@ the usual location] of the coalition of conservative activist-groups in
the 8
th
Congressional District; a plan will be discussed thereat regarding 11/4/2014 that will tackle the
looming question of whether Mike should be primaried on 5/20/2014 [and how a unified challenger
might be lent maximal support in the process, such as via a series of open meet the candidate events].
Indeed, his having failed to attend [or to sent an official staff-person to attend] any prior meeting is felt
to suggest he continues to take for granted his right-flank [which has been loyal-to-a-fault, until now];
this is compounded by the lack of direct communication [via his office] with those wishing to chat.
Some informally suggest he should be granted slack for, if nothing else, he could retrench in the future;
others feel his advocacy for a Clean CR and his vote for everything the Dems wanted reveals the truth
of what Guzzardi has claimed for years, namely, that he is union/Poprick-supported and is a squish.
{This latter point recalls that, per an oral presentation @ the most recent meeting of the Tea Party
Patriots of Lower Bucks, the spoils of local government are routinely split with the party leadership.}

The 10/15/2013 blast from the Independence Hall Foundation [which is the umbrella
name chosen to supplant Tea Party Association/PAC] is instructive; its views place it
outside what most TEA Party Movement activists believe [Despite the recent criticisms
of Congressman Ryan by some on the right, we think the Wisconsin Congressman and
Senator Toomey are two of the most knowledgeable and adroit conservative members
of the House and Senate, respectively.]. This exemplifies how The Adams Siblings
[Don/Teri] have distanced themselves from their TPM roots so as to curry-favor with the
GOP-Establishment/Incumbents [recalling their having touted a Romney-endorsement].
{Note that Toomey voted against the deal, recognizing the dramatic debt-hike.}

The CRUZ STRATEGY was UNDERCUT BY GOP ANTI-CRUZ SIGNALS; the Dems remain apprehensive that
ted-cruz can be president [with the simple-proof of his eligibility being that he is a citizen, he wasnt
naturalized, and therefore he was native-born]. Meanwhile, BHO's real intent is to seize total control of
the government by inter alia trying to ensure Congress renders itself irrelevant, as Glenn Beck predicted;
as BHO pivots to pursuing his long-delayed agenda [due to the Cruz-inspired/led fight], IMMIGRATION
AGENTS claim OBAMA is 'IN NO POSITION' TO DEMAND AMNESTY and strategists ponder How to Win
The Next Government Funding Battle. Meanwhile, BILL AYERS DISSES ANDREW BREITBART on MSNBC,
even as the accuracy of the GOPs viewpoint is ignored [albeit available for posterityand future-cites]:

The Debt Crisis
By Rep. McClintock

October 14, 2013
[floor speech]
Mr. Speaker:

The debt limit exists for a simple reason: to assure that public debt isnt recklessly piled
up without Congress periodically acknowledging it and addressing the spending patterns
772

that are causing it. If a debt limit increase is supposed to be automatic, as the President
suggests, there really is no purpose to it.

A new dimension has now appeared in this discussion. Unlike every one of his
predecessors, this President has vowed that unless Congress unconditionally raises the
debt limit, the United States will default on its sovereign debt.

But a failure to raise the debt limit would not by itself cause the nation to default. The
Government Accountability Office has consistently held that the Treasury Secretary has
the authority to choose the order in which to pay obligations of the United States to
protect the nations credit. Such authority is inherent in the 1789 act that established
the Treasury Department and entrusted it with the management of the revenue and
the support of public credit. The affirmative duty of the Treasury Department to do so
is underscored by the 14th Amendment.

Our revenues are more than ten times our debt payments, so paying the debt first to
prevent a sovereign default is well within the financial ability of the federal government
and indeed, it is a fiscal imperative.

Earlier this year, the House passed HR 807, which not only explicitly requires the
payment of the national debt in the case of an impasse over the debt limit, but even
allows the President to exceed the debt limit itself in order to protect the nations
credit.

That measure languishes in the Senate under the threat of a Presidential veto.

Protecting the sovereign credit by prioritizing payments would mean delaying paying
other bills which is untenable, unthinkable and something much to be avoided. But it
would not imperil the nations sovereign credit. Only the President can do that.

The House leadership met with the President last week and offered to extend the debt
limit until November 22nd with no strings attached. The President refused. Senate
Republicans offered a six month extension, but the Senate Democratic leader refused.

What the President threatens to do would be catastrophic and unprecedented. The full
faith and credit of the United States is what gives markets the confidence to loan money
to the federal government. Even a credible threat of default exactly the kind the
President is now making -- could have dire consequences to a nation that now owes
more than its entire economy produces in a year.

So where do we go from here?

Republicans have miscalculated on two key assumptions: First, that the Democrats
would negotiate the issues that divide the country; they have not. Second, that
Democrats would seek to minimize the suffering caused by the impasse; they have not.

Given the ruthless and vindictive way the shutdown has been handled, I now believe
that this President would willfully act to destroy the full faith and credit of the United
773

States unless the Congress acquiesces to all of his demands, at least as long as he sees
political advantage in doing so. His every statement and action is consistent with this
conclusion.

If the Republicans acquiesce, the immediate crisis will quickly vanish, credit markets will
calm and public life will return to other matters.

But a fundamental element of our Constitution will have been destroyed. The power of
the purse will have shifted from the representatives of the people to the executive. The
executive bureaucracies will be freed to churn out ever more outlandish regulations
with no effective Congressional review or check through the purse. A perilous era will
have begun, in which the President sets spending levels and vetoes any bill falling short
of his demands. Whenever a deadline approaches, one house can simply refuse to
negotiate with the other until Congress is faced with the Hobsons choice of a shut-
down or a default.

The nations spending will again dangerously accelerate, the deficit will again rapidly
widen, and the economic prosperity of the nation will continue to slowly bleed away.

This impasse may have started as a dispute over a collapsing health program but it has
now taken on the dimensions of a Constitutional crisis.

Yesterday in Washington, a group of Americas veterans rose up to take a stand against
these constitutional usurpations. I believe the salvation of our nation now depends on
the American people joining them.

heritage.org has released an obamacare parody-video, heritage.org reported stories-flooding-in-
regarding how obamacare is hiking insurance, heritageaction.com has provided extensive data regarding
the obamacare-nightmare and heritage.org has released a research report that depicts enrollment-in-
ObamaCare-exchanges [by state] and the known cost of health-insurance; Pennsylvania data show that
hikes will occur for a 27 year-old adult [32%], a 50 year-old adult [29.4%] and a family-of-four [7.9%].
This is why a national effort is occurring that, for example, is unifying tea-party groups in pennsylvania.

These trenchant issues affecting Americas future continue to rage, but also occurring
[with import] is the fact that jacob-bender-is-first-jew-to-lead-[Philly] chapter-of-CAIR;
and bit of surcease may be gained by scanning these photos from the 1950s. Overall,
those who claim Cruz has harmed the Republican Brand must contend with the facts
that [1]Conservatives were successfully educating the public as to the dangers of blind
support for ObamaCare prior to the intrusion of the establishment, [2]opposition
from the establishment precluded pressure being exerted on Senate-Dems to soften,
and [3]the GOP is now firmly known to have fought what may emerge as a debacle
[even as some self-declared defeat prematurely after exertion of typical D.C.-pressure].

Due to the labor-intensive nature of preparing e-mail blasts when drawing from comprehensive data,

In case the discussion is so lively that this physician doesnt have an opening to insert a

None has any ulterior motive other than to uphold the Constitution. I have made this

say: "You're a brilliant man" and thanks to all of your "blasts", we're all "armed and
dangerous" as we continue this fight. Rest assured my fellow patriots, the "eye of the
storm" has not passed over us yet, so we have to remain vigilant and "ready for battle"
on a moments notice during the next week or so. The fun begins sometime today when
the House votes for this funding/delaying bill and sends it back over to the "Dark Side"
(aka: the Senate) for what will surely be an epic battle among the D's, the R's, the
Conservative R's and the "Squishy" R's. Put on your seatbelts and batten down the
hatches my friends, this is going to be a "E" Ticket ride at Disney World for sure!

Because 87 house and 27 senate republicans voted for both the cr and for funding ObamaCare, Boehner
violated the Hastert Rule [for the majority of Republicans voted against the party leadership]. Yet, the
hypocritical post-vote statement by the Independence Hall Foundation illustrates why it is suppressing
its former name [Tea Party], for it failed to cite its squishy policy statement, pre-vote [We hope that
if and when our regions Republican congressional delegation decides to vote for a clean CR to end
the shutdown, they do it only in cooperation with a three-fourths majority of the House Republican
caucusnot in an alliance with House Democrats. Republican unity is key.] Thus, the Adams Siblings are
declaring they wish to support the Establishment-GOP, notwithstanding their prior stridency for reform.

Nationally, many claim ted-cruz-is-on-a-path-to-the-white-house, one of the questions
asked of him during the Sunday Talk-Shows. Deviating from prior-policy against any
temptation to endorse, RUSH LIMBAUGH is now openly fantasizing about the prospect
of having FIVE OR TEN TED CRUZES, even as it has become starkly recognized that the
Fiscal Crisis Sounded the Charge in G.O.P.'s 'Civil War'. Dramatizing why-we-fight is this
discussion of The Art of the Impossible [The strategy to repeal ObamaCare by winning
serial elections is not even a Hail Mary pass] by Andrew C. McCarthy; the ante is high
[tea-party-needs-to-recognize-that-its-playing-with-live-ammo] while the Dems salivate
[david-ignatius-how-republicans-can-sideline-the-tea-party]. What must be recognized
is that, although twitches of responsibility arise [cnn reporter scolds cnn anchor for
using term radical to describe tea party], generally, the media shapes views of low-
information voters to the detriment of the GOP, to inure to the Dems, despite issuance
by the progressive The Nation issued A Grim Report on Press Freedoms Under Obama.

These issues need to be confronted, for Mike may again ignore the gop-base that is asking-boehner-to-
block-immigration-disaster. Overseas, the media remain Soft on Iran, Hard on Israel [NY Times] and
incessantly maligning jerusalem [WaPo]; as usual, were_talking_while_theyre_acting. There is hope,
however, as illustrated by the fact that Woody Allen recently told an Israeli TV station that many
people that disguise their negative feelings toward Jews, disguise it as anti-Israel criticism, political
criticism. [Allen himself has sometimes strongly criticized Israeli actions; in 1988, the filmmaker wrote
in a New York Times Op-Ed that he was "appalled" by Israels response to the first Palestinian intifada.]
Domestically, the Scandal-Sheet hasnt been ignored, much as BHO would wish it so [You announce on
9/10/12 that you're on top of things, but you're clearly not, and after Benghazi you actually offer as your
excuse that you were not on top of things and you had no one around who could help.].

For surcease, watch Chinese dance swan lake, seemingly devoid of gravitational pull.

The focus, again, is on the issue as to whether/how Fitzpatrick should be primaried. Quality data may
also be acquired independent of these blasts by listening to the weekly broadcasts provided to those
who are part of the Sentinel Program [Monday nights at 5:30pm EST, Dial-in number: 1-800-757-3718,
and You can also add your phone number to this list to be connected to the call automatically] led by
Russ Vought, Political Director, Heritage Action for America; also, being compiled are ordinary people's
stories of how ObamaCare is hurting them [Skyrocketing Premiums]. Of-interest is that the process of
whittling-down the list of 87-house-and-27-senate-republicans who voted for the cr and for funding
ObamaCare may have started, noting that Griffin just announced hes not running for re-election.
{Addendum: ABC News Reveals ObamaCare as Failure but Won't Admit the Truth.}

To be annotated is an [annotated] essay that explores how the shutdown is now fueling-gop-primaries
which serves to answer points made during a GOP-event yesterday by a thinking-Republican who
argued against any effort to challenge this cadre of Wall St. [rather than Main St.] party-members:

Political handicappers expect Republicans to keep the House in 2014. But plenty of
GOP lawmakers will still be slugging it out in tough races next year theyll just be
hitting one another in a growing number of primaries propelled by the partys nasty
split over the federal shutdown and debt crisis. {Omitted from this piece is reference to
prior voting which, as per personally acquired information, portended this vote; yet,
corroborated is the potential to invoke the Buckley Rule of attempting to nominate
those Republicans who are maximally conservative without jettisoning ability to prevail.}

Nearly a dozen House Republican incumbents already have credible challengers, and
conservative groups expect that number to grow in the coming months as races
develop and deadlines approach to qualify for the ballot. The coming fiscal battles
theres now a Jan. 15 deadline for funding the government and a Feb. 7 deadline to raise
the debt ceiling could add fuel to the primary fires. {This prognostication is c/w the
suggestion that this challenge be explored within the 8
th
Congressional District.}

Redistricting whittled down the number of competitive House districts and fortified the
GOPs majority. That means much of the action next year will be in primaries, where
Republicans will fight out their differences in deeply conservative, gerrymandered
districts. {The Pa-8 doesnt comport with this image, for Mike has emphasized his desire
to maintain his ability to encompass all geographic areas of Bucks County.}

While Democratic incumbents will have a few primaries of their own in 2014, so far
nearly all of the intraparty fights are on the Republican side. Many of the races pit tea
party-style insurgents against establishment-minded members who are close allies of
House Speaker John Boehner (R-Ohio) or powerful committee chairmen. In other
instances, the establishment furious over the tea partys role in the shutdown and
debt fights is turning the tables, finding business-friendly candidates to try to take out
786

conservative incumbents. {The latter may be transpiring, but it is a lackluster effort;
clearly, the security of those who opposed ObamaCare/CR predominates in this regard.}

In the Senate, the GOP primary field is beginning to solidify, with veterans like Minority
Leader Mitch McConnell of Kentucky, South Carolina Sen. Lindsey Graham and
Tennessee Sen. Lamar Alexander drawing conservative opponents. And last week, state
Sen. Chris McDaniel announced he will run against veteran Mississippi Sen. Thad
Cochran and the challenger swiftly won endorsements from several right-leaning
groups. {As noted in a prior blast, Charlie Cook has explored why the GOP can win the
Senate, taking into account acute-awareness of the aforementioned challenges.}

Democrats feel well represented [by their members of Congress]. But theres a huge
sense of disquiet among the base with elected Republicans, said Daniel Horowitz,
policy director for the Madison Project, a conservative group that is supporting several
primary challengers to Republican incumbents, including McDaniel. Like 2010 was the
Republican wave, 2014 will be the primary wave. The threat of a primary challenge is
the 800-pound gorilla in the room. I think youre going to see it everywhere. {Thus,
suggesting that Pa-8 is a subset of everywhereas per prior blastsis fitting.}

The race currently getting the most attention is in Idaho, where GOP Rep. Mike
Simpson, an Appropriations Committee cardinal and Boehner friend, faces a primary
against attorney Bryan Smith. The challenger is backed by the Club for Growth, the anti-
tax group trying to steer congressional Republicans to the right. {Regarding Mike, absent
a viable challenger, its impossible to envision seeking any degree of national support.}

Simpson, who was one of 87 Republicans who supported the bill to reopen the
government and raise the debt ceiling, is casting himself as a responsible conservative
with experience and seniority; Smith calls the incumbent a get-along establishment
type who has overstayed his time in Washington. {This posturing harkens back to Mikes
post-vote statement, although it remains curious that he has failed to uphold his
pledge to hold monthly Town Hall events; after the pair of early-August, none have
been announced and events such as yesterdays @ a synagogue have been closed.}

In recent weeks, the two have skirmished over the shutdown. Smith hammered Simpson
for supporting a clean continuing resolution to fund the government. After 16 long
years in Washington, liberal Congressman Mike Simpson has forgotten our conservative
Idaho values, Smiths campaign charged in a radio ad. {In Mikes case, Heritage Action
has not consistently scored him among mainstream Conservatives in the GOP.}

Simpson shot back in a competing radio ad that highlighted his efforts to defund
ObamaCare. Everyone knows that Mike Simpson is a proven conservative Republican,
it declared. {If a credible primary-challenger were to adopt all of Mikes positionsand
then to oppose this one votehe/she would be positioned to capture his electorate.}

Club for Growth President Chris Chocola said the fiscal fights are potent grist for
primaries, giving challengers an opening to tap into grass-roots frustration by attacking
the partys approach to fiscal issues as overly accommodating. {This is the gravamen of
the argument favoring a decision to challenge otherwise-popular incumbents.}
787

Republicans run on a message of limited government, fiscal responsibility, less debt,
more growth, and thats what these battles are, he said. There is a growing sense
[among voters] that, You havent done these things. {The discordance between what
people run on and what they actually do, this is the focus of whatever might occur.}

Chocola said his group is in the process of examining whether to get involved in other
primary races. {The national-contacts of those who reside in Bucks would allow for this
group to be approached, again, only after a needs-assessment were to be done.}

Simpson isnt the only friend of Boehner looking over his shoulder. There is growing talk
among conservatives that North Carolina Rep. Renee Ellmers, who was elected in 2010
as an insurgent but who is now seen as a Boehner ally, could be challenged by Chatham
County Republican Party Chairman Jim Duncan. Tea party groups have squabbled with
Ellmers in recent months after she criticized the conservative group Heritage Action for
pressuring House Republicans to take a hard line on ObamaCare in the budget fight.
{This one vignette illustrates why no one is invulnerable to this level of analysis.}

Also in the cross-hairs are three committee gavel holders: Pennsylvania Rep. Bill Shuster
and Texas Reps. Pete Sessions and Lamar Smith. Shuster, who chairs the House
Transportation and Infrastructure Committee and is the son of ex-GOP Rep. Bud
Shuster, is trying to beat back Art Halvorson, a real estate developer attempting to
brand the incumbent as a big-spending liberal. Halvorson has put $100,000 of his own
money into the race, and hes become a favorite of conservatives like RedState founder
Erick Erickson. {Guzzardi is focused on this race, and he reports local unrest is rampant.}

Win or lose, Halvorson is convinced hes having an effect. He said in an interview that
the presence of conservative-minded primary challengers has pushed Republican
leaders to take a harder line on budget matters. {But not enough; Shuster voted Yea.}

The government shutdown is happening because guys like me are forcing Mr. Boehner
to stand up, Halvorson said. I see it as short-term pain for long-term gain. It had to be
done. {In this case, although this physician has opposed Guzzardis generic approach to
throw out the bums, even if we must reside in the forest, due to the intent to avoid
minority-status but, here, it appears the RINO/CINO-component is self-targeted and
whatever might transpire would not reasonably threaten GOP control of the House.}

Of the 144 House Republicans who opposed the bill to reopen the government and raise
the debt ceiling, several Ellmers, Sessions and Smith are seen as more aligned with
the party establishment. Voting against the legislation could give them some cover
against insurgent opponents. {It is for this reason that Mikes vote is so revelatory, for
he could have voted against ObamaCare/CR without having affected the outcome.}

For all the attention the GOP primary fights will receive, unseating an incumbent in a
primary is one of the hardest things to do in politics. Only five House Republican
members have lost to nonincumbent challengers since 2010. {This is why a candid study
of goals/resources should be initiated promptly, lest people initiate a fools errand.}

788

The conservatives driving the primary challenges are starting to encounter pushback
from a lineup of business groups that are unhappy with the tea partys heightened sway
in the House Republican Conference. Simpson has already received backup from the
American Chemistry Council, a deep-pocketed Washington-based group that has run TV
ads on his behalf. And a spokeswoman for the National Association of Manufacturers
said the organization had hosted a fundraiser for Shuster and would be holding one for
Simpson, as well. {This undermines the claim by Brit Hume that no such groups exist,
among his surprisingly-ignorant claims during yesterdays Fox News Sunday; overall,
the tenor of the discussion condemned Cruz for vowing to persist in this campaign.}

There is growing talk in the business community about recruiting primary challengers
against conservative members driving the GOPs no-compromise stance on spending,
taxes and ObamaCare. One target is Michigan Rep. Justin Amash, a libertarian-leaning
member whos trying to fend off a challenge from investment banker Brian Ellis. {Thus,
the civil war may be partially a two-way-street but, overall, the vector is themed on
shifting the GOP away from McCain/Romney-types and toward Cruz-advocates.}

The challenger kicked off his campaign two weeks ago, hammering Amash one of the
GOPs shutdown ringleaders for adopting what Ellis called a fiercely ideological and
anti-business approach. {Amash also opposed NSA-funding, a courageous viewpoint
today enhanced by awareness of revulsion by foreign countries [e.g., France] against
intrusions by BHO that have not been demonstrated to have led to terrorist-captures;
thus, it is unclear that the establishment can rely upon the charge that those who are
TEA Party oriented are anti-business, whereas the vote has supports the converse.}

In an interview, Ellis said House Republicans were rightly concerned about ObamaCare
but added: I think the bottom line is the government needs to be open, and we dont
want to be messing around with the debt ceiling. {The short-term pain of opposing the
BHO-enhanced shut-down cannot be compared with the long-term pain of supporting
the implementation of ObamaCare and the breaching of fundamental fiscal-constraints.}

Amash, he said, is certainly aligned with the faction thats taken us down this road.
{Unabashedly so, apparently, and illustrating his comfort-level with staying in the House
is his resistance to entreatiesbased upon his popularityto run for the Senate.}

In suburban Detroit, meanwhile, the business community has found a favorite in
attorney Dave Trott, whos looking to unseat tea party Rep. Kerry Bentivolio. Touting
himself as a jobs creator, Trott has won endorsements from many local pols. During
the opening month of his campaign, he raised more than $425,000 a substantial
figure for a congressional candidate. {Mike has raised a comparable sum, so anyone
who would challenge him would need to have broad support among the grass-roots.}

Bentivolio a quirky freshman House member who once worked as a Santa Claus
impersonator and reindeer farmer shrugged off the challenge. {Mike is not quirky,
again militating against a formidable challenge absent strong organizational backing.}

Im a grass-roots conservative, Bentivolio, who voted against the deal to end the
shutdown and increase the debt ceiling, said in an interview. The establishment is the
789

establishment because they like the way things are. {This is why one might anticipate
existence of strong populism against those who have seemingly become D.C.-aligned.}

The prior blast stated that To be annotated is an [annotated] essay and, thus, it is necessary to be
CANDID about the current civil-war situation, both in USA and in PA-8; the pledged follow-up annotation
[which the reader is invited to vet] is based on the fact that the focus on GOP primary-challengers will
have legs. In many respects, it has been brewing for as long as Guzzardi has been berating everyone
[including this physician] for loyalty of GOP-CommitteePeople towards nominated/endorsed candidates;
this physician confesses to having personally explored Bucks County for a conservative standard-bearer,
and a complete report [devoid of proper nouns] will be provided during tomorrows get-together.

Although historical-revisionists abound within the media, the mere fact that Obama was
forced to Nod to Rocky Start on Health Law suggests that complaints about glitchy
computerization [just decried by Mark Steyn, subbing for Rush] will continue to mount;
indeed, on todays MSNBCs Morning Joe, Mike Barnicle even characterized BHOs
administration as having lied about the roll-out. Some claim the obamacare-denial is
bigger than tech surge and even the consumer-reports warns people to stay away from
healthcaregov-until-its-fixed; this is illustrated by the fact that the group behind obama
at rose garden speech included only-3-obamacare-registrants and the observation that
even-oprah-isnt-on-board-with-obamacare. Now that release of such [truthful] data is
not politically potent, a WaPo Poll found Americans Disapprove of Obamas Handling of
Obamacare By 53% 41% Margin. Consider this bevy of links accumulated by Drudge:

Regarding the sad-state of the GOP, Buchanan laments [The We Cant Win Wimps Caucus: In 1975,
Reagan told conservatives to raise a banner of bold colors, not pale pastels; todays Republican banner is
the colorless banner of John Boehners freshly laundered white flag of surrender.] and others claim
that pa_should_be_electing_conservative_republicans_at_all_levels. Which returns the discussion to
the issue of Mike Fitzpatrick, and the need to study the ability to find a competitor, particularly noting
that his Town Hall presentation in early-August [none since] supported amnesty [which is a posture that,
sadly, is consistent with the fact that the SCOTUS affirmed that-illegal-aliens-can-vote-in-u-s-elections.

{Also noted in the burgeoning category of BHOs reverse-racism and Muslim Brotherhood support:
Department of Homeland Security adviser Mohamed Elibiary (Islamic cleric, admirer of the late
Ayatollah Khomeini, appointee to exclusive Homeland Security Advisory Council, misuser of classified
documents to promote the notion that Islamophobia was widespread) claimed WND senior reporter
Aaron Klein allegedly displayed a Jewish demeanor in his appearances on Fox News.}
Just to remind the reader of the sources/manifestations of government corruption, note
events both domestic [Camden County Congressman Rob Andrews [Dem] Investigated

The meeting previously-scheduled for tomorrow-p.m. of Patriot-Groups was postponed because Newt &

meanwhile, research-contacts will be developed inter alia with Club for Growth, Heritage Action,
Madison Project, and Senate Conservatives Fund. The desire to primary Mike existsfor having broken
a gigantic campaign-promise [and having voted for a terrible bill, unnecessarily]; this will only transpire,
however, if a quality-candidate [and attendant resources] emerge. Illustrative of the intensity of the
civil-war within the GOP [Main St. vs. Wall St.] is illustrated by these facts: House GOP-Leadership-PACs
Snub Conservatives, JEB RIPS CRUZ ['HAVE A LITTLE BIT OF SELF-RESTRAINT], MCCONNELL ATTACKS

{Also, MSNBC claimed WHITE HOUSE IS LYING ABOUT OBAMACARE ENROLLMENT NUMBERS.}

Sarah Palin characterized D.C. as promoting Extortion [You have to wonder whether
Constitutional rule of law even exists when separate rules apply for powerful and well-
connected men. And you have to wonder whether we really have government of the

heard is if we grease the palms of the ruling class.] as a national poll of GOP-primary
voters by Public Policy Polling [an organization that leans to the left] recently found that
Cruz is now viewed not only as the 2016 frontrunner in the GOP presidential primary,
but also as the politician Republicans view as their Congressional leader. Contrariwise,
Americans for Tax Reform President Grover Norquist has emerged as the Republican
establishment's leading crusader and mouthpiece against Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX),
repeatedly denigrating Cruz for fighting against ObamaCare with a tactic that Norquist
alleges hurt Republicans.even as the GOP argues for delay of the individual mandate.
{Also, ABC NEWS' KARL BASHED CRUZ: 'HOW MUCH DO YOUR COLLEAGUES JUST

Lest we forget, compiled have been the Top Five ObamaCare Catastrophes the Media Refuse to Cover.

state-department-swept-sex-scandals under the rug; Shutdown Wont Affect Growth and Jobs because
Part-Time Positions Dominate; and CNN'S ZAKARIA claims CONSERVATIVES 'HATE AMERICA.' As per a
recent request from a few people, to follow is a compilation of the Press Releases issued during the past
month regarding the problems encountered with a less-than-communicative Mike Fitzpatrick:

P R E S S R E L E A S E
Bucks County, Pennsylvania
September 13, 2013

We, the undersigned leaders of patriot groups in the 8
th
Congressional District, have
been active supporters of Congressman Mike Fitzpatrick for years; we have contributed
time, effort, and funds to support this honest civil servant. We have asked the
Congressman to protect the best interests of individuals, families, and businesses in his
district by refusing to fund ObamaCare in any fashion. Unfortunately, despite having
793

cast 42 votes supporting symbolic resolutions against the detrimental provisions of this
Healthcare Act, Congressman Fitzpatrick has not committed himself to taking a stand
against funding ObamaCare in the Continuing Resolution.

The failure of our representatives in the House to use their Constitutionally-mandated
fiscal responsibilitiesnoting that spending bills originate in the Houseto delay or to
stall the burdensome requirements of ObamaCare undermines the confidence of WE,
the people that they truly appreciate the harmful impact of this law and their
commitment to the welfare of the people. Those of us who have worked to put the
Congressman in office because of his firm stand against ObamaCare call on
Congressman Fitzpatrick to back-up his words with action by voting against any measure
that provides funding for ObamaCare. We further ask that Congressman Fitzpatrick
make public this commitment to his constituentsas-soon-as-possible.

Following issuance of the first iteration of these views, Congressman Fitzpatrick has met
with us, and he has expressed a heartfelt desire to defund ObamaCare. We have
continually emphasized the damage this legislation has already done and, frankly, we
fear it could destroy the American Economy. This constitutes, we believe, the last
chance to stop it.

We specifically request that Congressman Fitzpatrick promptly sign the letter composed
by Rep. Mark Meadows and co-sponsor legislation proposed by Rep. Tom Graves,
thereby urging the House GOP leadership to "affirmatively de-fund the implementation
and enforcement of ObamaCare in any relevant appropriations bill brought to the House
floor in the 113
th
Congress, including any continuing appropriations bill."

P R E S S R E L E A S E

We, the undersigned leaders of patriot groups in the 8

been active supporters of Congressman Mike Fitzpatrick for years; we have contributed
time, effort, and funds to support this honest civil servant.

We have asked the Congressman to protect the best interests of individuals, families,
and businesses in his district by refusing to fund ObamaCare in any fashion; defunding it
prior to months end, we believe, constitutes the last realistic chance to stop its
implementation.

Following issuance of the second iteration of these views, Congressman Fitzpatrick has
recognized the damage this legislation has already done and, frankly, we fear it could
destroy the American Economy; we recognize his policy of not announcing votes ahead-
of-time and his concern that a government shut-down not occur.

Fortunately, Congressman Fitzpatrick voted to support passage of the historic
Continuing Resolution; we thank him for doing the right thing!

FITZPATRICK explained his vote before a [closed meeting of a] LOCAL JEWISH MENS GROUP thusly:
While there are serious concerns about the presidents healthcare law and the fiscal path of the
country, I feel the best way to address them is with an open government which is able to pay its bills.
The question in any putative GOP-Primary, therefore, would be whether this judgment was a cop-out;
Mikes enormously popular, but there may be sufficient ambient-anger to switch to a candidate with
comparable viewsbut who doesnt have a history of having violated his solemn campaign-pledge.
Some claim My 80%-friend is my 100%-friend, but this quote doesnt account for any weighting-factor;
nevertheless, both locally and nationally, efforts are being made to encourage people to move on.
{Presumably, Mike is a member of the Future Caucus, comprised of moderate-lawmakers.}

The-republican-schism, per RedState, has been characterized precisely as has repeatedly
been articulated in these blasts, namely, that it pits Main St. vs. K St./Wall St.; also,
the real fightis between those who believe we actually are at the moment of crisis
existential or otherwise and thereby must fight as weve never fought before, and
those who think the GOP can bide its time and make things right. That explains why,
notwithstanding Ronald Reagan, Republican candidates race to be the next Ted Cruz
due to the desire to take back-america-one-vote-at a time; a new combativeness [BEN
SHAPIRO ON PUNCHLINE: THE GOP NEEDS TO MAKE CLEAR THAT THE DEMOCRATS ARE
MEAN AND NASTY] is fueled by the view that the TEA Party Movement works [cheney].
Indeed, while people choose between tea-or-totalitarianism as GOP battle-lines harden,
this may explain why a coup against Boehner may be brewing and scrutiny increasingly
is focused [as noted in a prior blast] on the US Chamber of Commerce [whose
President exclaimed Cruz Should 'Sit Down and Shut Up'] and on GROVER NORQUIST.
{The revolt spread to Europe, as the financial times fretted over the rise of a tea party.}

This exemplifies the problems besetting ObamaCare [and which prompted todays presser again to be
ended abruptly], for Kaiser Health News reported Thousands Of Consumers Get Insurance Cancellation
Notices Due To Health Law Changes; jon-stewart [democrats-cant-spin-this-turd] and leno went-after-

Economically, the 'stalling' was blamed by BHO on the shut-down, as a RECORD 90,609,000 AMERICANS
are now NOT IN LABOR FORCE and Employment among women hit a 24-year low; this prompted some
Experts to Conclude that the Limbaugh Plan is Better than Obama's Stimulus, noting that The Dem rich
get richer under Obama. Militarily, the Army Chief of Staff reported that there has been No Training in
Last 6 Months and Only 2 Brigades are Combat-Ready. Overseas, it has been reported that CNN IS PAID
BY ISLAMIC SUPREMACIST REGIMES NOT TO REPORT DAMAGING STORIES. In the media, during
SHUTDOWN WEEK 2, FOX DOMINATED and CNN SANK TO 3
rd
, while the media-matters [the entity that
claimed fox has fake-commenters] constitutes a liberal-goon-squad [per Larry Mendte].
Illustrating why, to Guzzardi, the unions own the Dems and rent the GOP, it seems the
long-and-winding-road-to-transit-funding is stalled over prevailing wage, as many also
claim its best to End unions' stranglehold on Pa. politics [noting how their efforts have
also stalled sale of the State Stores]; yet, some sense hope for per diem reform. [Again
illustrative of how Corbett has failed to tackle the Pension Bomb is derision attracted to
the Illinois Senate Pres. when he claimed the $100 Billion Unfunded Pension Liability
Not 'Crisis.']. A healthy distraction has emerged; apparently, the-phillies-can-spend-big.

GLENN BECK HORRIFIED BY AMERICAS LATEST PROPAGANDA MACHINE
Oct. 17, 2013 8:30pm Erica Ritz
Glenn Beck on Thursday broached a topic that he said horrified him when it was
brought to his attention roughly two weeks ago, describing it as an effort to re-write
our history and catalyze a new culture for America with the help of Americas latest
propaganda machine.
Beck proceeded to tell his viewers about two groups, the first called Imagining
America and the second called The U.S. Department of Arts and Culture.
The latter isnt actually a body of the United States government, but in the groups own
words, the nations newest people-powered department, founded on the truth that art
and culture are our most powerful and under-tapped resources for social change.
Beck highlighted various individuals affiliated with the organizations, who he described
as the people that will be teaching and influencing your children through art and
music and film and history books.
797

Among the topics the individuals were caught on tape discussing was the fair
redistribution of wealth and how were funding the arts through the Cultural
Development Fund, which is upwards of $20-some-odd million funding our cultural
communities.
Beck also said Imagining America was created by Bill Clinton, and that its membership
now includes roughly 90 universities including Columbia University, Brown University,
the University of Chicago, and more.
Many receive funds from the Soros-linked Tides Foundation, Beck added, in addition to
various government grants.
Several of the board members work closely with the government, what a surprise!
Beck remarked. So we have the government, radicals, and the universities, and some
of their affiliates are actually public officials. They actually hold conferences and
presentations about how to re-author American history, and its [funded] by you.
Beck has long maintained the solution to the countrys problems will come from the
American people and the pulpit, and invited Pastor Rafael Cruz the father of Texas
Senator Ted Cruz (R) to weigh in on the issue.
We could talk about all the things the world wants to talk about, your son and
everything else, but I want to talk to you about the answer is not going to come from
Washington, Beck began.
Absolutely not, Cruz, who fled communist Cuba as a young man, remarked. It will
come from we the people.
The pastor added that listening to Becks remarks earlier in the program, it was almost
like listening to what happened in Cuba under Castro.
You have a ministry of misinformationin all the communist countries, he said. Did
you know, Glenn, we have a ministry of misinformation in this country? Its called the
liberal media. They just tell us what they want us to hear, and they are re-writing
history.
Cruz added that in looking at our history today, many would not know that every one
of those 27 grievances in the Declaration of Independence of King George were
preached from the pulpits of America before they were written.
Today, not only do many not know the history behind the Declaration of Independence,
but the most recognized lines of it are often distorted. Cruz specifically referenced
instances where the president has said we are endowed with certain inalienable
rights, omitting the phrase by our Creator.
Socialism, Marxism requires that government become your God, so they must destroy
the concept of God, Cruz said. But you know Glenn, if those rights come from
government, they are not inalienable.
When asked what his message is, Cruz remarked: My message is the pulpit is
responsible, like Charles Finney said it very clearly he was one of the leaders in the
798

Second Great Awakening if evil prevails in the halls of Congress, the pulpit is
responsible for it. If we have moral decay in our society, the pulpit is responsible for
it. As shepherds, we have a greater responsibility to be leaders, not to be following.
But despite the challenges, Cruz said he is not discouraged and referenced a verse in the
book of Proverbs that says though the righteous falls seven times, he gets up again.
We either stay down there feeling sorry for ourselves, or we get up, wipe our bloody
nose, and move forward with twice the determination, he said strongly. Thats what
vision will do for you. And when that vision becomes a passion, when it becomes fire in
your heart, fire in your bones, nothing can stop you, GlennThat gives me hope.

Subject: Anti-BHO "blasts" Continue - CIC [ObamaCare & Fitzpatrick]

http://www.scribd.com/doc/178300415/Anti-Obama-CIC

Just when it was possible to envision taking a nap, this constituent-letter arrived, crying for parsing.
Indeed, read rationalizations of a RINO/CINO; in fact, particularly noting how he portrays the pending
Farm Bill, he resembles an extreme-RINO, a DIABLO [Democrat In All But Label Only]. This term was
coined by The Bob [guzzardi and dr. bob] to dramatize how D.C. infests previously-honest people who
sign-on with Wall St./K St. as they crassly forsake their cherished Main St. pedigrees and personae.

True-Conservatives are to be differentiated from the tea party, even as the latter is touted as the last
hope for america, based on William Buckleys admonition that GOP must not be viewed as the endpoint.
[I'd be for the most right, viable candidate who could win."
[22]
] This physician maxed-out for Mike
[fiscally and behaviorally], and one might misperceive this e-mail as burning-bridges [lamentably];
rather, it should serve as a gentle reminder that he pledged to serve three terms [six years] and, thus,
adding his prior term [two years] to the total number of years he will have served at the end of this one,
he should consider the possibility of retiring at the end of this term and making-way for a fresh-face.

BTW, this physician doesnt subscribe to the theory that hurting Mike in the primary would hurt him in a
general election, thereby threatening GOP control of the House; rather, as per prior hyperlinks [Cook],
the House appears secure [with/without PA-8] and Mike could envision the ability to tout having beaten
the Tea Party were he primaried unsuccessfully. Not having yet IDed a viable candidate, it is a bit
risqu to lay-out all of these thoughts; nevertheless, he did not have to have voted to violate his pledge,
and is it not truly-American to inject a bit of competition into an otherwise dull renomination race?

Initially, the three Press Releases were intended to convey a sense of Tough Love to a wayward soul.
Now, one might conclude that the gloves are off, for Mikes own portrayal of what transpired is so
replete with conscious oversight [including personal comments attacking Senator Ted Cruz at a meeting
held on Sunday] that he has declared himself to be virtually irretrievable from the D.C.-morass.

Thank you for contacting me regarding the Budget impasse of October 2013. As always, it is an honor to
serve you and I welcome this opportunity to address your concerns.
It must be recalled that Mike has not held monthly Town Hall events, as he had promised in 2010; this
portended the intensity of the reaction of Conservatives to his having voted to abrogate his campaign
promises of 2010 and 2012 to repeal/replace ObamaCare [the gravamen of both campaigns].
The budget impasse came to a head at the beginning of October due to two critical spending issues that
keep the government running.
800

It must be recalled that this did not suddenly erupt, as he portrays what transpired; rather, it was
brewing over the summer when Heritage Action was holding its rallies [which he pointedly ignored].
With Congress failing to pass a budget for the past three years, daily government operations have been
funded through short-term bills known as Continuing Resolutions. The deadline for providing this
short term funding expired at the end of September. Additionally, another deadline was reached in the
middle of October regarding the amount of taxpayer funds that the government can keep on hand to
pay its commitments, ranging from government contractors to Social Security checks.
It must be recalled that he incorrectly characterized the CR as a short-term bill, for it has been used
unfortunately to encompass entire fiscal-years; similarly, he incorrectly characterized the debt limit
as mandating payment of commitments such as Social Security, for the key-pivot was paying interest.
While I support efforts to repeal and reform the presidents healthcare law, including a bill I introduced
that would retain the beneficial consumer protections while removing the harmful regulations and
mandates, the October spending deadlines were not the best opportunities to make substantive and
meaningful changes to the presidents healthcare law. Therefore, I did not support the resulting
government shutdown and worked to re-open the government, while ensuring the bills would be paid.
It must be recalled that this physician CLAMORED for him [via Athan, his chief-of-staff] to generate a
fiscal-note regarding his proposal, alas, to no avail; thus, his lack of resolve when refusing to complete
this simple task reflected the fact that his gambit was unserious. It must also be recalled that he does
not state when any best opportunity would have arisen to alter ObamaCare prior to its initiation
[noting the plan to initiate subsidies on 1/1/2014], not does he state how this would have been done.
It must also be recalled that his prioritization of ending the partial [~14%] government shutdown and
of allowing Obama to raise the debt-limit with abandon [because an override requires a 2/3 vote,
which would never be achieved in the Senateif not the House] reflected his capitulation to extortion;
Obama purposefully made this as painful as possible [even as it wasnt very painful at all] and, thus,
his failing to maintain resolve established a precedent whereby the House violated its Constitutional
duty [Article I, Section 7] to initiate spending-bills [appropriation, taxation, debt-ceiling, etc.].
To safeguard against another government shutdown, I brought attention to a bill I co-sponsored last
Spring called the Government Shutdown Prevention Act, HR 1164, which does exactly what the title
suggests by enacting an automatic funding bill at a gradual decrease of funding until a budget resolution
is reached.
It must be recalled that no one else even bothered to share the attention he trained on this bill; thus,
even raising an obscure reference may be viewed as an attempt to distract the reader from his vote.
Furthermore, I supported a bipartisan compromise, known as the Dent-Kind Plan, which would chip
away at a harmful tax in the presidents healthcare law and replace that revenue through savings. These
persistent efforts were essential in showing both the President and Congressional leaders that we
wanted the government operating and were providing ways to work -- consistent with our principles --
to get things done.
It must be recalled that such efforts are cinema compared with the effort to defund/delay so as to
ensure Americans arent subject to the Individual Mandate; again, no one else even bothered to share
his feeling that he had been showing anyone anything substantively wrong with ObamaCare.
801

In the end, the final bipartisan agreement reached to restore government operations, the Senate
Amendment to HR 2775, creates a framework for Republicans and Democrats to address the serious
spending issues facing our country so that we do not find ourselves in the same position this winter
when the deadlines are once again reached. Leaders must stick to it and bring Federal spending under
control.
It must be recalled that the final bill he touted [misnamed dealfor it reflected mere capitulation]
has been recognized by independent pundits as still another effort to kick-the-can-down-the-road;
frameworks dont solve problems reliably [recalling the failure of the SuperCommittee of 2011] and
all the mandates that Leaders must stick to it and bring Federal spending under control will again
face predictable opposition from the Dems [while he has rendered himself powerless to stop them].
Due to the Budget Control Act of 2011, the Federal deficit has been cut in half and Federal government
spending has decreased for the first time since the Korean War. This was a step in the right direction,
but pending future indiscriminate cuts may prove to be too deep.
It must be recalled that the halving of the deficit that he touts actually started @ ~$1Trillion, bloated
by a spendthrift POTUS; that he now deems this a step in the right direction tacitly endorses Obama.
It must also be recalled that this physician SCREAMED @ him in August of 2011 NOT to support the
Sequester that he [and the POTUS] now decry for threatening indiscriminate cuts in spending.
Also, savings can be found in responsible reform. For example, I have supported reforms to the food
stamp program which would compel work requirements for the able-bodied. However, gutting the food
stamp program by nearly $40 billion as proposed by some, and without my support, are cuts that would
go too far.
It must be recalled that he has consistently supported pork-projects [notably, recently, Sandy Relief,
which funds many projects unrelated to this disaster], and he has opposed many other reforms both to
the food-stamp program [SNAP] and to the agriculture bill from which it was segregated [enriching
mega-farms]; for example, although he touts strong support for the work-requirement in SNAP,
Heritage Action [*-vide infra] has detailed other basic reforms that he has pointedly failed to endorse.
Obviously, Congress must make tough choices to get Federal spending under control; however, I firmly
believe that so long as both parties are talking, we can rise to the challenges before us.
It must be recalled that the singular achievement of the capitulating-GOP was to budge Obama from
refusing to negotiate [unprecedented in prior shutdown-threat situations] to inviting Congress to meet
[during which he said he would not budge]; this is hardly a concession, and it reinforces the view that
an imperial-presidency is to be condoned rather than condemned during the next three-plus years.
During this process, I was encouraged that members of both parties began to focus on finding lasting
solutions that will get our nation back on track. In the recent past, many of us felt Congress was not
focused on the right priorities, while some argued that our prosperity distracted us from what made us
successful in the first place.
It must be recalled that there has been no deviation of any Democratic leader from intransigence to
anything near what he claims to have sensed; rather, the Dems wanted to blow the Sequester and
then increase spending [while increasing taxes]and it is nauseating that such a tale would be spun.
802

I have observed my congressional colleagues are beginning to focus on the larger issues that require
thoughtful and workable solutions. Additionally, I hope the frustration and fatigue of managing by crisis
will get officials to the table with sincere resolve.
It must be recalled that prior choruses of such hope [perhaps starting with hope and change?]
have fallen-flat, even as no Rs were decrying the horrid rhetoric routinely espoused by the Dems
[arson, extortion, terrorism]; he was not dispatched to Congress to become fatigued in the process.
My community sent me to Washington to make things work, not shut them down. I can assure you that
I will continue to put forth and promote reasonable solutions which bring people together.
It must be recalled, rather, that he was sent to fix Washington, to change its cronyism and corruption;
indeed, if some unnecessary programs were to be shut-down in the short-run, this was viewable as a
demonstration of how bloated D.C. has been allowed to becomeand this observation undermines
any pledge he might proffer that anything reasonable will ultimately emerge from his efforts.
Again, thank you for contacting me. If you have further questions, or need assistance in another matter,
please call my office at 202-225-4276.
It must be recalled that those who have been most deeply involved in efforts to alter his mindset have
been ignored until after-the-fact, when his palpable intent has been to mollify his base from running
any competitor in next years primary; this was evidenced by his having invited Don Adams [of the
tangential Independence Hall Foundation] to participate in a Sunday-meeting with all Patriot-Groups
[an action which was intended to interfere with the direct conveyance of anguish by a non-constituent
with negligible support within Bucks Countya mini-subterfuge which, by all accounts, BACKFIRED,
quoting what he was unambiguously told by the candid/intelligent/forthright folk who were present].
Sincerely,

Mike Fitzpatrick
