SIGNAL LINE PROTECTORS - Panel Mount

Novaris SL12 signal line protectors are designed for the
effective protection against lightning induced overvoltages
on process control, telemetry, PLC, telecommunications
and information technology systems. Protection is provided
for up to 12 signal lines.

Operat i on

Multistage transient protection is utilised in every unit,
guaranteeing low-let-through performance and a long
operating life.

High-energy gas discharge tubes provide the first stage of
protection and absorb the majority of the surge.

Fine protection consisting of the secondary and tertiary
stages absorbs residual energy downstream from the gas
arrester. Fast-acting metal oxide varistors and a diode-
clamping network serve to clamp let-through voltage spikes
to a known and predictable level.

These three stages of protection eliminate component stress
by balancing energy absorption between each stage, as well
as significantly improving performance.

Protection is provided for both common mode and
transverse mode disturbances with options for isolated
earth incorporating earth-clamping components.

Mounting
Novaris SL12 signal line protectors are supplied ready for
direct panel mounting with provision for four M4 fasteners.
For applications where DIN rail mounting is required, refer
to Technical Information Sheet SL1DIN-7V5.
