PREFACE
Congratulations on your choice of SANDVIK loader.
This instruction manual shall facilitate the task to become familiar with this machine and its
intended use. You are about to operate a diesel powered, rubber tired, low profile
underground mining loader.
Each operator should familiarize themselves with the machine and fully understand the
contents of the operators manual, maintenance manual and the general safety instructions
before operating. This manual contains information on the safe use of components,
instruments and controls. Periodic maintenance is explained in the maintenance
instructions. Only those who have been given the proper training are allowed to operate the
loader.
Continuing research and development at loaders may have caused changes to your
machine which are not included in this manual.
If the machine is equipped with optional equipment e.g. remote--control system you should
familiarize yourself with separate instruction, where the operation is explained.
This safety alert sign identifies important safety messages in this
manual. When you see this symbol, take note, your safety is involved,
carefully read the messages that follows, and inform other operators.
WARNING
This instruction manual must be read and used by each person in
charge of working with machine, operating it, transporting it, servicing
or repairing it.

This manual must permanently be available in the cabin when operating the machine.
Manual must be replaced immediately if lost, damaged or unreadable. New manual can be
ordered by publication number found at the bottom of the manual page.
Always obey national mandatory rules relating to accident preventation and enviromental
protection. The generally recognized technical rules for safe and professional operation
must also be observed.
For demanding maintenance and repairs, we recommend that you contact your nearest
authorized Sandvik Service. Our maintenance personnel have the skills and special tools
required for the most demanding tasks.
Through correct use and by following the maintenance instructions, you can expect a high
degree of utilization and long operating life of your loader.

1. INTRODUCTION TO MACHINE
1.1. Intended use
This loader is intended to load, haul and dump rock material exclusively. Any other use
different from this is not considered as intended. The intended use also includes following
the instruction manual and to observe inspection and maintenance rules.
The manufacturer or supplier will not be liable for any damage resulting from the product
misuse.
When we refer to the front of the unit, this is the end of the unit where the bucket is attached
to. The right and left sides of the unit are designed in reference to the operators position,
looking toward the front of the unit.
This machine is designed and constructed according to state of the art technology and the
recognized safety rules. Nevertheless, unintended and careless use may cause damage to
health of the user or third persons, or prejudice the machine and other properties.
This machine shall be used only

. in enviroment containing explosive gases or explosive dust
1.2. Recommended operating conditions
Because the machine normally operates in mine conditions, its engine, transmission and
hydraulic systems are filled with oils suitable for typical conditions. However, in cold
conditions oils may thicken. This makes starting difficult and the torque converter and
hydraulic pumps will be damaged. For this reason, avoid any temporary parking in frosty
weather. If themachineis towork invery coldor very hot conditions, seetheMercedes--Benz

1.3.1. Noise level and noise emission
The measurement of the noise emission and the noise level at the operators position have
been measured in accordance of European Directive 98/37/EC.

Please do note that vibration values are highly sensitive to driving speed and terrain
driven. Above values are valid for our testing environment and testing work cycle.
The vibration emission level given in this manual has been measured in
accordance with a whole body vibration standard ISO 2631--1:1997. The
vibration emission level may vary because of the different ways in
which vehicle can be driven (for example: driving speed and surface
smoothness) and may increase above the level given in this
information sheet. This could lead to significantly higher exposure
values when the vehicle is used regularly in such a way (for example:
very high driving speed in very rough terrain).
To be accurate, an estimation of the level of exposure to vibration
experienced during a given period of work should also take into
account the times when the vehicle is standing by and when it is
running but not actually doing the job. This may significantly reduce
the exposure level over the total working period.

2.1. Warning labels on the equipment
All the main warning labels on the device will be presentedin this chapter.
2.2. Warning of injury risks
A dangerous or unsafe manner of operation that may cause
serious injury or death (injury or health risk) if the proper safety
precautions are not taken.
2.3. Warning of damage to equipment or property
These warnings are designed to instruct the operator how to use
the equipment so that material damage can be avoided.
2.4. Read the user or maintenance instructions
These instructions are used when it is forbidden to operate the
equipment before receiving proper training or reading the information in
the manuals.

2.5. Operator safety instructions
Operation, maintenance, and adjustments are only allowed by
persons with specific training in operation and maintenance of the
equipment. Read the operating and maintenance instructions before
using or servicing the equipment.
Plan your work carefully in advance to avoid possible accidents and
injuries. The operator must be familiar with the functions of the
equipment before taking it into use.
The operator must always wear required personal protection, such as
safety helmet, protective clothing, safety boots, hearing protectors,
safety goggles, etc., as dictated by company policy or local
regulations.
Service operations (cleaning, oiling or adjusting) should be carried
out only when the machine is stopped and protected against
unprejudiced start of the engine. Use the correct tools suitable for the
work. Replace or repair faulty tools and equipment. Make sure that
there are no unauthorized persons in the working area when you carry
out service and repair work.
In case of malfunction, stop immediately and safeguard the machine,
have the malfunction immediately repaired.
If you have to weld on the machine, disconnect the alternator cables
and open the main switch before starting to weld. Consider also the
fire and explosion risk caused by welding. Make sure that themachine
and its surroundings are clean and fire--safe.
Always have a fire extinguisher at hand, and learn how to use it. Have
the extinguisher inspected and serviced regularly according to the
local regulations.

2.6. Main safety hazards in use or maintenance work
Make sure that there are no unauthorized persons in the working area
during operation.
Run over hazard. Can cause severe injury or death. MAKESURETHAT
THERE ARE NOUNAUTHORIZEDPERSONS INTHE DANGERAREAS.
Hazardous temperature. Beware of hot surfaces, can cause injury. Do
not touch.
Hazardous boom movement. Make sure that the boom is properly
supported before servicing the hydraulic system.
Observe the balance of the loader. Never exceed the specified
inclination angles when parking or tramming.
Danger of slipping, tripping, or falling. Keep the ladders, steps, hand
rails, handles, and working platforms clean of oil, dirt, and ice.
Danger of crushing. Can cause severe injury. Be careful when
mounting locking device.

Danger of high pressure oil jets. High pressure oil jets can cause

Never drive with the boom in up position. Be aware of the live wires
and the ventilation system hanging from the roof.

2.8. Warning signs
The following signs are used to point out important warnings. The locations and the
descriptions of the signs are detailed in this chapter. Please observe the signs and follow
the instructions.
1. Caution
Temperature hazard. Hot surface can cause injury. Do not touch.
2. Warning
High pressure hydraulic oil injection hazard. Can cause bodily injury.
Unpressured hydraulic system before removing plugs or fittings.
3. Warning
Slipping hazard. Can cause bodily injury. Be careful when climbing onto
and from machine.
4. Warning
Crushing hazard. Can cause severe injury. Do not stand in this area.
5. Warning
Crushing hazard. Can cause severe injury. Be careful when mounting
locking device.

Roll over hazard. Can cause severe injury or death. Keep bucket
in hauling position when tramming. Be careful and drive slowly
when approaching emptying station with bucket in lifted position.
Avoid sudden up--and --down boom motion in lifted position, especially when machine is
articulated. Do not exceed maximum permitted gradient angles.
7. Warning
Hazardous boom motion. Can cause bodily injury. Secure boom before
servicing hydraulic system.
8. Caution
Splashing hazard. Hot liquid can cause scalding. Hot coolant under pressure.
Do not remove the filler cap until the engine has cooled. Remove cap slowly.

2.9. Fire prevention
In case of fire, evacuate area to reduce the risk of injury from flames, heat,
hazardous vapors, explosions, or other hazards that may be created

Fire extinguisher (opt.)
The fire extinguisher is normally mounted to
the front frame. Location might vary
depending on unit equipment.
Read the operating instructions on the fire extinguisher
bottle. Make sure that the extinguisher gauge needle is not in
the red sector. If the needle points at red, the extinguisher
must be serviced at once by an authorized service center.
In case of fire:
1. Stop the vehicle safely.
2. Press emergency stop button.
3. Press circuit breaker release button to open main circuit breaker or turn the electric
current off from the main switch.
4. Actuate fire suppression system(opt.) and if possible to use hand held equipment,
follow the instruction below. Always refer to local regulations and instructions.
5. Turn the extinguisher up and down a few times to mix the contents.
6. Pull the safety pin and take the hose from its holder.
7. Stand firmly, take a good grip of the hose, and direct it towards the base of the fire.
8. Spray the chemical by squeezing the extinguisher handle. As soon as the fire dies,
stop spraying to save extinguishing power for possible reignition.
9. The extinguisher bottle must always be filled by authorized service center after use.

Fire suppression system (opt.)
Familiarize witn the system mounted in your machine, if e.g. locally fitted system!
In case of fire
1. Stop the vehicle safely.
2. Press emergency stop button.
3. Press circuit breaker releasebutton
to open main circuit breaker or turn
the electric current off from the
main switch.
4. Ansul: Activate suppression
systemby pulling the safety ring pin
on the actuator and strike the red
button(therearetwoactuators, one
at the rear end of the vehicle and
other in the cabin). The system
button might also be different in
your machine as attached picture.
If the automatic fire detection
system is in use, the system is
activated automatically due to the
heat of the fire.

After fire
Heat remaining from the fire can cause reignition after the suppression system has
discharged.
After the fire is out the machine should not be started until it has been serviced and
cleaned. Wash the machine with plenty of water as soon as possible after
extinguishment because dry chemical can cause corrosion especially to electrical cables.
Recharge and check the fire suppression system before re--starting the work.
Manual actuation will result in immediate system discharge. Make certain
vehicle is stopped safely before manually actuating the system.
Do not re--start the loader again until the cause of the fire has been
established and the fault repaired.
When recharging the suppression system: Only authorized service
people may remove and refill powder / nitrogen gas tanks or pressurize
the system.

2.10. Emergency stops and stopping devices
If the emergency stop button(s), located in the cabin and at the rear end of the unit (optional)
as shown in attached pictures, is pressed the brakes will engage and engine will stop. The
engine cannot be started until the emergency stop button has been released.
Always ensure free access to the emergency stops.
Check the operation of the emergency stops daily.

2.11. Emergency Exit
The right hand side window of the operator cabin can be used as emergency exit. Pull from
the exit sign/ring and move the sign round the window so that the rope comes out of the
window seal. Push the rear window out of place and go out through the hole.

2.12. Locking devices
Frame locking pin
Crushing hazard. Can causesevere injuryor death. MAKESURETHAT
THERE ARE NO UNAUTHORIZED PERSONS IN THE DANGER AREA.
How to install frame locking pin.
1. Remove the pin from its holder
on the front frame.
2. Insert the pin into the hole on the
frame as shown in attached
picture.
3. Return to the cabin and turn on
the engine and slowly move the
steering from left to right a little
until the pin drops down into the
second hole.
Note! Observe the pin. When it drops
down, stop turning.
To remove the locking pin.
1. Climb into the cabin. Turn on the
engine and turn the unit a little to
the left or to the right until the pin
has no pressure acting on it.
2. Then stop the unit, step out and
remove the pin.
3. Place the pin to its holder on the
front frame.

Boom locking pins
Crushing hazard. Can causesevere injuryor death. MAKESURETHAT
THERE ARE NO UNAUTHORIZED PERSONS IN THE DANGER AREA.
How to install the locking pins.
1. Ensure the boom is in the hauling
position. Climb up, remove the
locking bars and wing nuts which
keep the pins in position.
2. Climb into the cabin and raise the
boom. Turn off the engine and step
out of the cabin.
3. Climb up onto the wheel guard and
remove both pins from their
holders. Place the pins correctly
into their holes in to the boom as
shown in attached picture.
Make sure you dont walk under
the boom under any
circumstances.
4. Lower the boomslowly against the
stops. Pressing the boom too
strongly against the stops
damages both boom and frame.
Note! Always use both locking pins when
supporting the boom.
To remove the pins.
1. Walk around the unit and ensure
no--one is working on the unit or
under the boom.
2. Have a look around. When it is
safe, start the engine.
3. Raise the boom and then turn off
the engine.
4. Climb up onto the wheel guards
and remove both pins.
Note! Make sure that both pins are
removed.
Place the boom locking pins to
their holders and install the pin
locking bars and wing nuts. Dont
walk under the boom under any
circumstances.
5. Go back into the cabin, turn on the
engine, lower the boom slowly
against the stops and the bucket to
the ground.

Low / high beam (4)
There is a separate button in the cabin for switching on the high beam lights towards the
driving direction in addition to the low beamlights. You can switch off the high beamlights
by pressing the button again. If the gear is on neutral, the high beam lights shine towards
the bucket. In reverse gears high beam lights shine on machine grill end. The high beam
lights cannot be switched on if the low beam lights are off.
If you press and hold the high beam light button for 1 second, both the front and the rear
high beam lights are switched on. The next press (without holding) switches off the high
beam lights.
The symbol (see display section, function status) at the lower right corner of the main
window shows whether the high beam lights are on or off. The symbol is grey when the
high beam lights are off, and becomes darker when the high beam lights are on.
Gear mode (6)
The transmission mode can be selected from gear mode switch. The selected mode is
shown on the display in front of the operator. Each time mode switch is pressed,
transmission mode swaps between MANUAL and AUTO.
MANUALmode: Dashboardswitchinthemanual position(if automatic mode (optional) is
not available, dashboard switch does not exist).
The selected gear, driving direction and the highest gear available are shown on the display
in front of the operator. Manual text under the displays gear indication bar is darkened.
AUTOMATIC mode (optional)
System selects automatically suitable gear. Operator can also limit a particular gear to be
the highest available. The selected gear, driving direction and the highest gear limitation are
shown on the display in front of the operator. Automatic text under the displays gear
indication bar is darkened.
Bucket counter (7)
The bucket counter is on the upper left corner of the displays main window (the bucket
symbol and a number).
The bucket counter value increases by one every time you press the bucket counter
button on the dashboard. The bucket counter can be reset by pressing the button more
than two seconds.
Boom floating (8) optional
The purpose of this function is to let the bucket smoothly follow the ground, for example
when you want to clear fallen stones off a road.
You can turn on boom float function by pressing the float button on the dashboard. The
boom must be in full down position. Boom float is deactivated by pressing the float button
again. If the bucket is used during boom float, float will be deactivated only for the time
period when you use the bucket. Controlling the boom also deactivate float.
The symbol (see display section, function status) to the left on the displays main window
tells the status of boom floating. The symbol is grey when floating is not activated and
becomes darker when floating is in use.

Ride control (9) optional
The purpose of ride control is to improve the machines drive an operator comfort by
suspending the boom, bucket and load by hydraulics during the tram.
Automatic ride control systemis turned on by pressing the control button on the dashboard.
Ride control automatically turns on when certain parameters are met:
D Boom is down
D Gear high enough (usually 2nd gear)
D Speed high enough (usually 5 km/h)
Once activated, control system monitors condition of the bucket -- empty or loaded.
Activating the appropriate system and ensuring accumulator charge is exctly equal to
individual bucket weights.
Lowering the boomto dig or raising to dump, deactivates ride control. Systemreactivates
once tram is recommenced.
Pressing the control button a second time, turns of auto ride control system.
The symbol (see display section, function status) to the left on the displays main window
tells the status of ride control. The symbol is grey when ride control is not activated and
becomes darker when ride control is in use.
SEO (stop engine override, 10)
During serious engine malfunction the red alarmlight (H014) or yellowwarning light (H018)
will goonandalarmpop--upwindowwill appear onthe display. Engine power will bereduced
to a certain level for 30 seconds and after that the engine will stop automatically. If the
machineis operatinginacritical situation, theoperator canselect tooverride theautomatic
stopenginesequenceby pressingtheStopEngineOverride switchevery 15to20seconds
to prevent engine shutdown fromoccurring. It takes 30 seconds fromthe time the automatic
shutdown sequence begins until engine will shutdown. Therefore, the operator must press
the override switch just prior to engine shutdown and continue to do so until the vehicle can
be brought to a stop in a safe location.

Brake test button(11)
Use the brake test button to test the
condition of the parking and service brake
system. Testing procedure is as follows:
Parking brake test
1. Press the brake test button located on
the dashboard. The adjacent message
appears.
2. Press the Yes button to perform the
test.
If you press the No button, the test is not
performed and the display main window
opens.

3. If the parking brake is not engaged,
engage the parking brake by pushing the
brake control button on the dasboard in
down position.
If the parking brake is already engaged,
check that the service brake is released
(the brake pedal is not pressed) and select
the driving direction to forward or
backward. The gear (set by parameters)
will be selected automatically.
Please note! The system is allowed to
select the gear automatically only if
-- parking brake is engaged
-- engine is running
-- driving direction is selected after
the brake test button is pressed
down completely.
4. When the gear is engaged automatically
by the system, press the accelerator pedal
down.
The parking brake test is complete when
the engine rpm has stayed above the limit
value (depending on the unit) for 3
seconds.
5. Whentheparking braketest is complete,
release the accelerator pedal and set the
gear to neutral.

Service brake pedal test
When the required conditions are met, the
test proceeds automatically from the
parking brake test to the service brake
pedal test.
1.The first test checks that the brakes are
released, in other words, that the pressure
rises in both brake circuits. Keep the
service brake released. Release the
parking brake carefully.
Releasing the brakes may
cause the machine to move
(especially on an inclined
surface). Be sure that this
does not cause danger to
other people or equipment.
2. When the brake release pressures have
been measured, the text will inform you to
press the service brake pedal down
completely. Press the service brake pedal
fully down and keep the parking brake
released. Let the engine to idle.
After the delay, the module measures both
brake circuit pressures, which will be
shown in the brake test results chart (see
Accepting the brake test results).

3. After measuring the pressure, the
module engages the parking brake
automatically and the text informs you that
the brake test is done.
Accepting the brake test results
1. To accept the brake test results, press
the Accept button. The brake test is
complete and the window disappears
automatically after 3 seconds.
Please note! Values shownin theadjacent
brake test results chart are only indicative,
not necessarily from your machine.
2. If you discarded the brake test and
pushed the Fail button, display will show
the text Brake tests failed. Repair brakes
before using the machine.
The driver have to set off the window by
pushing the display button 1.

Log entries
Accepted or discarded brake tests are
shown by four lines in the events log.
The information shown includes max rpm
/ machine movement, brake pressure
front, brake pressure rear and information
if operator accepted or did not accept the
brake test results.
Brake test aborted
After choosing the driving direction, you
have 30 seconds to raise the engine rpm
to the required level (to press the
accelerator pedal down) and hold them
there for 3 seconds. If this does not
happen, the following window will
appear.
In case the engine is turned off, the
parking brake test is interrupted and a
window informing of this appears on the
display. Leaving this window opens the
main window.

Brake releasing pump (12)
If the machine breaks down, the pressure needed for releasing the brakes can be
produced with a special brake release pump. After that the unit can be towed to a safe
location. Refer to the Towing section.
Start the brake release pump by pushing the button (12) keeping it in down position. Pull
the brake control button (14) fully out and release it to middle position. The pump switches
on/off on maintain brake release pressure until you release the button 12 or the maximum
pressure 14,0 MPa (140 bar) has reached. The brakes will be released now. When the
brake release pump is used, the engine must be stopped, ignition switch on POWERON
position and the emergency stop must not be activated.
Emergency steering (optional) test (13)
Emergency steering pump functioning can be tested by pressing the button. The pump
should start and the status symbol in the main display appears. Test with ignition switch
POWER ON position and engine not running.

Pushing the button down engages the emergency/parking brake. Brakes engages
automatically, if

Brake is released by pulling the three position buttonfully upand releasedto centreposition.
Main circuit breaker release (15)
In case of fire, lift the shield and press the button to release main circuit breaker. If the main
circuit breaker release button has been pushed down then to get power back to the loader
you must open the rear frame fuse box X356 and reset the main circuit breakers.
Emergency stop (16)
Pushing the button engages the brakes and shuts down the engine. Button must be pulled
out before starting the engine. The emergency stop state appears also on the display.
Remote Control switch (17) (optional)
Read the Remote--Control System Operators Manual carefully before operating with
RC--system. Check remotecontrol systemfunctioningaccordingtoremotecontrol system
instruction before operation. The RC--switch must be turned off (to position 1) before
starting / operating the machine from the cabin. Position 2 is for remote operation.
MBDR -- connector (18)
Connector for Daimler Chrysler diagnostic tools (e.g. Minidiag 2). Parameters, actual values
and fault codes can be read out from the engine management systems ADM and PLD.
Fan potentiometer (19)*
Controls the fan speed stepless from 0--100%.
Air Conditioning switch (20)*
Activates the Air Conditioner.
Temperature potentiometer (21)*
Controls the cabin temperature.

3.1.2. Warning--, signal lights and display pop--up windows
Alarm light (1) red, warning light (2) yellow
These indicator lights indicate the state of the machine and will give at a glance the same
information as the traditional gauges. Warning and alarm lights are there to inform if any of
thesignals or measuringoperations arein warningor alarmconditions or if any kind of action
is necessary.
Whenever a red or yellow indicator light is lit or whenever an alarm window appears on the
display, an abnormal functioning of the machine or control system will ensue. There is one
exception: alarm light test can be run by turning the ignition key to I--position which makes
the indicator lights switch on for three seconds, both lights must then go out.
The warning and alarm pop--up windows use big signs to indicate the reason for the alarm,
the alarm limit and the measured reading. Alarms from the engine control unit also are
shown with the pop--up windows on the display.

Apop--upwindowwill appear onthe display when awarning or an alarmcondition is active
and it will remain on the display until the operator removes it. After setting off the pop up
window the indicator light will stay on for as long as the warning or the alarm is active. If
the warning or the alarmstops before the pop up window is set off, the pop up windowwill
disappear from the display automatically in a few seconds. It is only possible to view a
reset warning or alarm by first turning the main power off and then back on.
Anactivewarningis indicatedby ablinking trianglein themain windowand yellowwarning
light. An active alarm is indicated by an exclamation mark inside a blinking triangle and
red alarm light.
Active alarms and warnings are indicated with the following symbols on the gauge
windows (the symbols appear on the left hand side of the symbol for the sensor that the
alarm or warning applies to):

3.1.3. Control levers and pedals
Steering control lever
1. Steering lever
By pushing the lever forward turns the
machine to right and pulling the lever turns
the machine to left.
The four forward and reverse gears
(speeds) of the Power--Shift transmission
are selected with buttons on the steering
lever.
2. De Clutch
When machine is tramming with first forward
or reverse on, and the operator presses
DeClutch button, gear is shifted down to
neutral and kept in neutral as long this button
is pressed. When the button is released
previous gear is set on again. DeClutch
function is possible only with first forward or
first reverse. (Normally works with first gear
only, but can be set with parameters). De
Clutch is possible to activate also by
pressing the brake pedal.
DeClutch mode can be set on or off. If mode
is on, the way of action can be chosen from
the display: brake pedal, push button, both
or none.

Gear selection MANUAL mode: Dashboard switch in the manual position
Driving direction is selected with the rocker
switch 4. Forward (F) direction is selected by
pushing the lower end of the rocker switch
down. Reverse (R) direction is selected by
pushing the upper end of the rocker switch
down. Gear is inneutral wheneither Forward
or Reverse is not selected (middle position).
When driving direction is selected, higher gears are selected by pushing the button 5 and
lower gears by pushing the button 6. Each time you push the button the gear will increase
or decrease by one, depending on which button (5 or 6) you are pushing. The selected
gear, driving direction and the highest gear available are shown on the display in front of
the operator. Manual text under the displays gear indication bar is darkened.
Gear selection AUTOMATIC mode: Dashboard switch in the auto position
System selects automatically suitable gear. Operator selects the direction with the rocker
switch 4 and if needed, can also limit a particular gear to be the highest available. The
highest gear limitation is activated by pushing the button 5 when prevailing gear is set to the
highest available, in both driving directions. The selected gear, driving direction and the
highest gear limitation are shown on the display in front of the operator. The highest gear
limitation is deactivated by pushing the button 6. Automatic text under the displays gear
indication bar is darkened.

Bucket control lever
1. Bucket control lever
The bucket control lever is on the right side
of the operator. The bucket control lever is
used to raise and lower the lift arms and to
dump and roll back the bucket.
Standard movements
D To raise the lift arms -- move
the lever to the right.
D To lower the lift arms -- move
the lever to the left.
D To dump the bucket -- move
the lever forward.
D To roll back the bucket -- move
the lever backward.
Thefunctions of the bucket control lever may
be reoriented. The control valve does not
work if the door is open or if the brakes are
not released.

4. Bucket shaking
Bucket shaking moves the bucket back and forth in sharp, fast movements. This function
can be used for emptying the bucket of any material that is stuck in it. Bucket shaking can
be activated by pressing and holding the shaking button and moving the bucket control.
5. Window washer / wiper
The wipers can be controlled with the switch on the instrument panel. If there is a
intermittent switch on the machine, it is controlled with a potentiometer.
The window washer control button is located on the right hand side control joystick.
Control the window washer with the button 6. When pressing the button, the window
washer starts and after an interval set with a parameter the wiper starts. When the button
is released, the window washer will stop after which the window is wiped for a time period
set with a parameter. The intermittent timer does not affect the wipers; the wiping is
continuous.
6. Horn
Horncanbeactivatedby pressing thebutton. Whenthe buttonis released, the hornsound
will stop.

Brake pedal and accelerator
The brake pedal (1) is foot operated and is
used to stop the loader. By pressing the
pedal applies the brakes and stops the
loader. By removing your foot off the brake
pedal, the brake will be released and the
loader will move.
The accelerator pedal (2) is also foot
operated and is used to increase the engine
speed. The harder you press the
accelerator, the higher the engine
revolutions will rise.

3.2. Display
The display is situated in the left side of the front dashboard panel and the operator can
use it for checking gear selection, active statuses, clock, bucket count, alarms and faults
etc.
The system is used with the display modules five buttons (buttons 1--5). By pressing the
buttons, the operator can move from one display window to another.
The functions of the buttons vary depending on the current display window. The symbols
at the bottomof the display windowshowwhich function is activated by pressing a button.
For example, pressing the buttons on the main window shown in the picture above opens
the following display windows (the main window opens when the systems operating
voltage is switched on):

1. Gear indication
Manual mode
The transmission mode can be selected
from gear mode switch. The selected mode
is shown on the display in front of the
operator.
When Manual mode is selected, the
operator can select gears upwards and
downwards by pressing the buttons on the
steering joystick.

2. Function status
There are status symbols in the main display which indicate the status of various functions.
Automatic central lubrication (optional)
The symbol to the upper left on the main window warns of malfunctions of the automatic
central lubrication. The symbol tells that the grease reservoir is empty (The picture of the
grease gun becomes darker) or that there are malfunctions in pressurizing (the picture of
the grease press and the arrows above and below become darker).
Torque converter lock (optional)
The symbol to the left on the main window tells the status of the automatic torque converter
lock functions. The symbol is grey when converter lock function is free, and becomes darker
when you activate lock function.
If the vertical symbol bars are open, converter is not lock.
If the vertical symbol bars are close, converter is locked.
Boom floating (optional)
Thesymbol totheleft onthemainwindowtells thestatus of boomfloat functions. Thesymbol
is grey when float is not activated, when you press the float button the symbol becomes
darker to indicate you activate float functions.
Ride control (optional)
The symbol to the left on the main window tells the status of ride control. The symbol is grey
when ride control off. When you press the ride control button, the symbol becomes darker.
Ride control system is now on and will activate when operational parameters are fullfilled.
Blinkers
The symbol on the lower left corner of the main window shows whether the blinker is on or
off. The symbol flashes from grey to a darker grey when the blinker is on.

DeClutch
The symbol to the upper right on the main window shows the status of the DeClutch. The
symbol is grey when DeClutch is not activated, and becomes darker when you activate
DeClutch.
Emergency steering (optional)
The symbol to the right on the main window shows the status of the emergency steering.
The symbol is grey when emergency steering is not activated, and becomes darker when
emergency steering automatically activates.
Parking brake
The symbol to the right on the main window tells the status of the parking brake (wheel
brakes). The symbol is grey when the parking brake is released, and becomes darker when
the parking brake is engaged.
Brake accumulator pressure low
The symbol to the right on the main window tells the status of the brake accumulator
pressure. The symbol is grey when the accumulator pressure is ok, and becomes darker
when the charging pressure is too low.
High beam driving lights
The symbol at the lower right corner of the main windowshows whether thehigh beamlights
are on or off. The symbol is grey when the high beam lights are off, and becomes darker
when the high beam lights are on.

3. Bucket counter
The bucket counter is on the upper left
corner of the main window (the bucket
symbol and a number).
The bucket counter value increases one
every time you press the bucket counter
button on the dashboard. The bucket
counter can be reset by pressing the button
for more than two seconds.
The bucket counter reading can be set
manually in the service menu. Bucket
counter can be reset with the Reset button
and increase or decrease the bucket
counter value with the +/-- button to its
right.
4. Time and Date
The current time is shown in the upper right
corner of the main display.
To adjust the time, use the following
instructions:
Enter the maintenance window by
pressing service button. After that enter
the time and date window by pressing>>
button.
Press + or -- button until hours or
minutes field becomes dark.
Press OK button and after that + or --
buttons to increase or decrease the value.
Press OK button to accept the value
entered.
Date setting.
Date setting is done in the same way as
time setting as described above.

5. Service windows
The service window is entered by pressing
the service button in the main or some
other menu.
In the service menu, you can for example
adjust DeClutch or display settings.
DeClutch settings can be entered only if
the DeClutch mode is available (DeClutch
button is shown in the menu)
If the DeClutch mode is available, the way
of activation can be selected from the
display: brake pedal, push button, both or
none.
From the service window use + or --
button to highlight the DeClutch option,
press OK button.
Use + or -- button to select required
activationmode, pedal, button, both or none.
Press OK button to confirm selection.
In the display settings LCD contrast and
brightness can be adjusted.
From the service window use + or --
button to highlight the display settings
option, press OK button.
Use + or -- and OK button to adjust
parameter between 0--15 to suit operating
conditions. Press OK button to confirm.
In the display settings the display text
language can be changed to suit the country
of operation.
Select display settings. Use + or --
button to highlight language field, press
OK button.
Use + or -- button to select suitable text
language. Press OK button to confirm.

7. Alarm display
The alarm display is entered by pressing
the alarm display button in the main
menu.
As a default, by pressing the alarm
display button, display shows only the
active alarms and on the button 4 has text
All.
By pressing the button 4 (All), all the
alarms expect those that have been
removed by pushing the CLEAR button,
will be shown in the display. Concurrently
thetext onthebutton 4changes toActive.
Alarm messages warns the operator of a
system, component or operational fault.
Window shows the date and time when
alarm or event has occured. Alarms and
events are logged also into displays
memory.
To the left of the alarm line shows alarm
status, OFF or ON.
If the alarm mode is ON, alarm is active.
If thealarmmodeis OFF, alarmis nolonger
active and is recorded as history.
Note! If any warningor alarmalppears inthe
display, do not operate with the loader until
tha cause has been determined and
possible fault has been repaired. Call a
service person.
Operator canscroll thealarms pressingthe
up and down arrow buttons.

10. Tachometer
The tachometer is in the centreof themain
window. The arch aligned bars become
darker according to the engine rpm.
Underneath the bars, rpmis also shown in
numeric value.

11. Fuel gauge
Thefuel gaugeis inthemainwindowonthe

3.4. Symbol plates and safety notes
All the main safety notes are located inside the cabin.
Safety note
Always park on level ground. Turn machine in an angle. Lower bucket to
ground and check that machine doesnt move. Apply parking brake. Do not
use emergency brake.
Safety note
Disengage drive before starting engine. Do not operate with doors open
and unlatched. Stop engine when servicing, adjusting and refuelling.

Before operating read instruction manual carefully. Pay special attention to

Before driving the bucket must be lifted up

STOPPING THE ENGINE
Run hot engine between 800 and 1000 rpm with no load for 5 minutes. Reduce engine
speed to low idle and stop the engine. Stop engine before switching off.
Keep gear selector in neutral when idling.
Turn ignition and main switch to off--position, disconnect alternator and regulator cables
before welding on machine.

Perform any additional inspection, if required by company policy or local
requlations.

7. Check air filter assembly condition
Inspect clog warning indicator; service
air cleaner elements as required (filter
clogging is shown on the display)
Inspect the entire air system for leaks.
Tighten any loose connections.
8. Check engine coolant level
Coolant level should be seen on the
sight glass.
Use extreme caution when removing
the cap. A sudden pressure release
from a heated cooling system can
result in a loss of coolant and possible
personal injury (scalding, eye injury,
etc.) from the hot liquid.

9. Check oil levels
1. Hydraulic oil level
Boom and bucket in transport position.
With cold oil, oil level should be
between the sight glasses (at operation
temperature oil level should be seen in
the upper sight glass).
2. Brake hydraulic oil level
With cold oil and brakes engaged, oil
level should be between the sight
glasses.
10. Check hand portable fire
extinguisher (opt.)
11. Check that the emergency stop
buttons at the rear end of the
machine (optional) are not in the
pushed in position.
If this is the case, deactivate the
emergency stop button by pulling the
button out.
12. Turn the main switch to the ON
position.
Do not switch the main switch on if danger/service tag attached.

3.6. Getting into the cabin and starting the engine
Always make sure before starting that there are no unauthorized
persons in the danger areas, and that no controls are in the operating
position.
1. Makesurethat thereis noclutter onthe
floor when entering into the cabin.
2. Use grab handles and steps provided
to maintain 3 points of body contact
with the machine while entering the
cabin.

3. When you have entered to operators
position, ensurefirst thedoor is closed.
Then check, that the emergency stop
button is not pushed in. If it is, pull the
button out.
4. Turn the ignition key to POWER ON
position and check the alarm lights.
Note! Alarm light test for yellow
warning light (1) and red alarm light (2)
last for three seconds. Both lights must
go off.
5. Make sure that there are no alarms on
the display. Activate brakes (brake
control button pushed in).
6. Check fuel level. The vertically aligned
bars become darker according to the
fuel level (all bars dark = the tank is full).
The symbol of the gauge flashes if the
fuel level is low.

7. Check the brake releasing pump
function.
Push the brake release pump button (1)
on the instrument panel and keep it in
down position. The pump should start
and stays on until releasing the button.
Pull the brake release button (2) out and
release it to middle position.
Warning! Releasing the brakes may cause that the machine starts to move
(especially on gradient level). Be sure that the releasing does not cause danger
to other people or equipment.
8. Check that RC--switch (optional) is in
manual (1) position.
9. Turn the ignition key to START
position (there is a delay before the
engine turns). Let the key return to the
POWERON position when the engine
starts.
Note! Do not use throttle until engine starts.
Do not run the starter motor longer than 20 seconds at a time. Allow the
starter motor to cool down for one minute before a new starting attempt.
10. Switch the lights on.

11. Step out of the cabin.
Crushing hazard. Can cause severe injury or death.

12. Install the frame locking pin.
D Remove the pin from its holder on the
frame.
D Insert the pin into the hole on the
frame as shown in attached picture.
D Return to the cabin and turn on the
engine and slowly move the steering
from left to right a little until the pin
drops down into the second hole.
Note! Observe the pin. When it drops down, stop turning.
13. Check transmission oil level with the
dipstick.
D Machine on level ground
D Brakes engaged
D The engine at low idle
D The gear in neutral position
D Cabin door open
14. Remove the frame locking pin.
D Climb into the cabin. Turn on the
engine and turn the unit a little to the
left or to the right until the pin has no
pressure acting on it.
D Then stop the unit, step out and
remove the pin.
D Place the pin to the frame holder.

15. Check the lights

16. Check major components for oil leaks
and mounting.
Make a general visual inspection of the
machine, check for oil leaks and loose
hoses, frayed wires or other apparent
maintenance needs; if anything looks
suspicious call a service person.
17. Check the emergency steering system
function (optional).
Turn the ignition key to shut down the
engine. When the engine has stopped,
turn the ignition key to power on
position. Push the emergency steering
test button on the instrument panel.
Power pack should start and the status
symbol in the main display appears
when the system is activated.
Never attempt to start a loader by towing!

3.7. Routine checks before driving
1. Check gauges and indicator lights
1. Normal engine temperature is
75...99_C. If the temperature exceeds
100_C shut off the engine and trouble
shoot for the cause after the engine has
cooled.
2. Engine oil pressure at idle should be
at least 50 kPa (0,50 bar), at operating
speed (1800 rpm) the oil pressure
should not fall below250kPa (2,50bar).
3. Alternator chargingvoltage shouldbe
appr. 26--28 V when the engine is
running.
4. Transmission clutch oil pressure
should be between 1,69 MPa (16,9 bar)
-- 1,96 MPa (19,6 bar).
2. Check brake gauges
1. Pressure gauges showfront and rear
brake release pressure.
With (Posi--Stop) brakes full ON,
pressure gauges must show zero
reading.
With brakes full OFF, pressure gauges
must show maximum12,1 MPa (121
bar).
2. Charging pressure must be 15,2
--19,0 Mpa (152--190 bar) during
operation. Warning light and pop up
windowwill appear if pressure drops too
low.
3. Check that all the controls are functio--
ning correctly
-- Raise the lift arms, dump the bucket,
roll back the bucket and lower the lift
arms at 1000 -- 1500 engine rpm.
-- Articulate the machine from left to
right.

There are health risks due to nitrogen oxides and carbon monoxide in
exhaust fumes of a diesel engine. GOOD VENTILATION MUST ALWAYS
BE ENSURED WHEN THE ENGINE IS RUNNING IN CONFINED SPACES.

D Make sure that there are no active alarms.
D Do not let the engine idle unnecessarily.
D Be seated and have your seat belt fastened when operating the machine
D Do not let any persons in the articulation area, make sure that nobody is endangered

3.8. Driving
3.8.1. Gradient angles
Roll over hazard. Can cause severe injury or death. Do not exceed
maximum permitted gradient angles.
On slippery surfaces, e.g. ice or smooth rock, safe tramming gradients are
much smaller than on surfaces with good grip.
Avoid to drive with the boomin up position. Be aware of the live wires and
the ventilation system hanging from the roof.

3.8.3. Setting the unit in motion
D Fasten your seat belt and have it
always fastened when operating
the machine!
D Press the brake pedal (1) and
release the parking brakes.
D The four forward and reverse gears
(speeds) of the Power--Shift
transmission are selected with
buttons on the steering lever (3).
Select the desired direction (forward
or reverse) with the rocker switch (4).
D -- F -- Forward Gears
-- R -- Reverse gears
-- N -- Gear Neutral (middle position)
D Higher gears areselectedby pushing
the button 5 and lower gears by
pushing the button 6. Each time you
push the button the gear will increase

3.8.4. Braking
A sudden stop can cause personal injury. Observe the gauges and
indicators often and obey their signals
The brake pedal (1) is located in the
operators compartment as shown. The
brake pedal is foot operated and is used to
stop the loader. By pressing your foot on the
pedal, the brake will apply and stop the
loader.
By removing your foot off the brake pedal,
the brake will be released and the loader will
move. The harder you press the pedal, the
quicker the loader will stop, and the greater
the braking effort.
Never drive with your foot on the brake pedal. It causes overheating of the
hydraulic system and early wear or brake failure. Use the foot rest.
Note!
The parking/emergency brake engages automatically if
-- engine oil pressure drops too low
-- brake accumulator pressure is too low
-- hydraulic oil lower limit alarm activated
-- electric current is cut off
-- cabin door is open
-- emergency stop button is on
-- transmission oil pressure drops too low

3.9. Parking and Stopping the engine
D Never park/stop the machine where it may block traffic.
D Try to park/stop the machine on level ground. If this is impossible turn the machine
so that the bucket is facing downhill and is against the wall. Refer to the photo below.
D Lower the boomto the lowest position and turn the cutting edge of the bucket against
the ground.
D Put the transmission into neutral and release the brakes. If the machine does not
move you are parked safely.
D Apply the parking brake (indicator lights come on).
D Let the engine to idle without load for four minutes.
D Turn the ignition key to the 0--position to shut down the engine.
D Turn the main switch off.
In dangerous situations the engine can also be stopped with one of the
emergency stop buttons.
Avoid long engine idle periods. During long engine idling periods with the
transmission and boom control lever in neutral, the engine coolant
temperature may fall below the normal operating range. When prolonged
idling is necessary, maintain at least 850 -- 1000 rpm.

Never turn the main switch off when the engine is running. This may
damage the alternator or the voltage regulator and the machine electronic
equipment.
Never park the machine on a gradient resting on the brakes only.
Refill the fuel tank at end of each days operation to prevent condensation
from contaminating the fuel.
Dont leave the unit unattended unless the machine is safely parked,
brakes are set and the engine is shut down.
3.10. Operation in cold weather
If the temperature is below 0 C, clear off ice from all steps and handles on the rig.
Because the machine normally operates in mine conditions, its engine, transmission and
hydraulic systems are filled with oils suitable for these conditions. However, in cold
conditions they may thicken. This makes starting difficult and may damage the torque
converter and hydraulic pumps. For this reason, avoid any temporary parking in frosty
weather.
If the machine will work in very cold or very hot conditions, see the Mercedes--Benz
Operating Instructions for the correct engine oils and the proper fuel.
Startingaids suchas preheatingengineand hydraulic oil arerecommended intemperatures
below --10C.

3.11. Towing
Never attempt to start the engine by towing
Extreme caution must always be observed when towing the rig.
If the machine must be towed follow the directions below:
1. Apply parking brake and block all four wheels.
2. Towing vehicle must be as heavy or heavier than machine to be towed. Towing
vehicle must have enough power and braking capacity to move, stop and hold both
machines.
3. Connect the two machines with a suitable towbar (and a secondary safety chain or
wire rope) with a necessary warning signal.
4. Because towing can damage the transmission and the converter, the front and rear
drive shaft must be disconnected as shown in the picture below.
Towing the loader with drive shafts connected can damage transmission
and torque converter.
5. Release the steering hydraulics by disconnecting the hoses to steering cylinders at
the main steer valve.
Releasing the steering may cause the machine to turn by itself (especially on
gradient level). Be sure that the releasing does not cause danger to other people or
equipment.

6. The brakes can be released with
electric brake release pump as
follows.
Push the brake release pump
button (1) on the instrument panel
and keep it in down position. The
pump should start and stays on
until releasing the button.
Pull the brake releasebutton (2) out
and release it to middle position.
Releasing the brakes may cause the machine to move (especially on gradient level).
Be sure that this does not cause danger to the other people or equipment.
Do not release the brake before the machine is properly connected to the
towing machine and the towing machine has an operator in the operators
compartment!
7. Tow as slowly and carefully as possible.
8. After towing block all four wheels.
9. Apply brakes.
Before disconnecting the machine from the towing vehicle, the brakes
must be engaged and wheels blocked.
10. Disconnect the vehicles.
11. When mounting the drive shafts, note that the yokes on both ends should be aligned

Only authorized personnel are allowed to perform a towing procedure.

3.12. Transporting the loader
Move the bucket in hauling position before driving the loader onto a
transport wagon. Never exceed the specified gradient angles.
D Suitable access ramps must be used whendriving theloader ontoand off transport
wagon. Driving must always be done on level ground.
D When driving over the ramps, use bucket movements to balance the loader.
D Always use low speed and observe special caution when coming from the ramps
to the platform.
D Before transporting, lower the bucket down and install the frame locking pin.
D Fasten the loader to the platform from the bucket and both ends of the machine
with strong straps and chains so that the loader cannot shift during transporting.
When planning the transporting route, keep in mind the loaders
dimensions.

3.13. Storing instructions
Environment:
D Storage temperature should be +0...+35C, and the machine should be protected
from direct sunlight and from rain.
D The humidity of the air should be below 90%.
Preparations:
D Wash the loader thoroughly if it comes directly from use, or if it has been transported
by sea (use high pressure washer or steam).
D Lubricate all greasing points.
D Empty the pressure accumulators and place warning signs on the machine:
Pressure accumulators must be filled before using the loader.
D Apply protective grease to the piston rods of the cylinders.
D Change all lubricants and fluids
D Check engine air filter and service if necessary.
D Protect electric devices with corrosion inhibitor to prevent contact failures.
D Disconnect batteries
Apply protective grease to the following points:
-- terminal strips
-- battery terminals
-- multipole connectors
-- connectors at caps of magnetic valves, pressure switches, etc. Fill the caps with
grease.

3.14. Lifting methods and lifting points
Always respect the law and all the local safety regulations in lifting work.
Keep in mind the total weight of the loader, given in the technical data of
these instructions.
The lifting points (four) have been marked with hook symbols. Rear frame lifting lugs must
be lifted up before hooking.
D The lifting device used must be of the correct type and have
sufficient lifting capacity. The loader or parts of it must not
be lifted with any devices that are not specifically designed
for lifting purposes.
D You must always know the exact weight of the load, and
never exceed the lifting capacity specified by the
manufacturer of the lifting device.
D The lifting routes should be planned so that the load is not
moved over persons or such places where persons may be
present.
D Make sure that the lifting equipment are in proper condition.
D Wire ropes and chains used for lifting must be checked
regularly. Damaged wire ropes must be marked clearly and
discarded at once.
D Install the frame locking pin always before lifting the loader.
D Lift the load only a fewcentimeters at first to make sure that
it is properly fastened and in balance. Do not continue lifting
until you are sure of proper fastening and balance.
D Never wind the ropes around the hook of the hoist. The
lifting ropes must be fastened according to the
manufacturers instructions.

4. LOADING, HAULING AND DUMPING
This loader is intended to load, haul and dump rock material exclusively.
Any other use different from this is not considered as intended.
4.1. Danger areas during operating
The loader user should always ensure during work, that there are no outsiders in the
danger area.
Operating / driving in the mine you must strictly follow the site traffic regulations.
Pedestrian must always give the way the vehicle and machinery.
Make sure that there are no unauthorized persons in the working area.
4.2. Loading
D Always obey national mandatory rules relating to accident prevention and
enviromental protection. The generally recognized technical rules for safe and
professional operation must also be observed.
D Complete the instruction manual with obligatory reports and controls according to
company rules.
Unit malfunctions must be repaired immediately!
Keep all safety and danger signs on the machine in legible condition,
observe and follow them
The effort spent in levelling the machines small operating area can pay dividends by
increasing its productivity. When loading, work the area on as wide as possible. Work the
outer side of the muck pile first and then center.
If you follow correct loading procedures, you and the machine will be a more efficient team.
Do not start lifting full loads until the engine and the converter are warmed up (converter
+40_C).

Approach the muck pile with the lift arms down. Before penetrating the muck pile, put the
bucket lip plate against or very close to the ground.
Drive ahead in first gear. Straighten the machine before penetrating the muck pile. Once
you have penetrated the muck pile it may be necessary to increase the throttle to keep up
an even speed. Try to operate the loader within optimal engine rpm range.
To avoid wheel spin, move the bucket slightly first with the boom and then oscillate with the
boomand the bucket. This causes the front tires to flatten out thus increasingthe tirecontact
surface area.
Dont spin the tires while loading
If forward and breakout movements are combined properly the bucket can be filled with one
pass and without wheel spin.
If the muck pile is rammed unnecessarily a converter stall on the output shaft may occur.
This happens when there is full engine power without any wheel motion.
Never maintain a converter stall more than 30 seconds at a time, because it converts
all of the engine power to heat energy. A converter stall happens more easily in high gears.

Do not lower the bucket cutting edge too much for it may cause the front wheels to rise off
the ground. This leaves the rear wheels as your only source of drive.
Dont lift the front tires off the ground while loading
Avoid lifting up the rear axle for it puts unnecessary stress on the front axle and the front
wheels.

4.3. Hauling
When the bucket has sufficiently penetrated the muck pile, roll it back tothe haulingposition.
Do this quickly so the back of the bucket fills completely. Shake the bucket in order to drop
extra or loose material fromthe bucket before hauling. Engage the reversing gear and lower
the bucket arms against the arm stops.
Note all matters concerning safety.
Upgrade & Level Hauling
Keep the bucket and the boom in transport position during hauling prosess.
Select such gear, which provides a road speed where you the operator are always in total
control of the unit and are allowed to operate in a safe and responsible manner.
Close attention MUST be payed to converter temperature. Converter temperature during
tramming MUST not exceed 100_C.
Monitor control system display to ensure normal machine operating conditions exist.

Downgrade hauling
Keep the bucket and the boom in transport position during hauling prosess.
Always use the proper gears for driving. When driving downhill, select such a gear that you
can control the machine without excessive use of brakes. As a general rule of tumb, when
driving downhill, select the same gear that you would use if driving uphill.
Ensure full or near full throttle position is maintained. To achieve maximum transmission
cooling, transmission temperature must operate under 100_C.
Insufficient throttle position may result in transmission overheat!
Ensure the selected gear and drive conditions do not force the engine into an over--rev
condition. Engine rpm must be maintained under maximum. See the engine rating plate
and Mercedes--Benz Operating Instructions.
Monitor control system display to ensure normal machine operating conditions exist.

4.4. Dumping
When dumping, lift the bucket highenough anddump. Avoidarticulating theunit whenboom
is in raisedposition. Always keep theservice brakes on andthe transmissionin neutral when
dumping.
Tip the empty bucket back, reverse the machine and lower the bucket arms back to the
lowest position.
Dont allowthe machine to roll backwardswith thetransmission inforward
while working on steep grades.

4.5. Remote--control drive (optional)
Before operating the machine with Remote Control: Check the remote control system
functioning according to Remote Control System Instructions.
During remote--control driving you should control the loader from a refuge bay or safety
platform, where you are safe fromany danger. You shouldalso beaware of the escaperoute
in advance.
Makesureall personnel areat safedistancefromthemachine, andthe machineis infullview
of the operator. Always obey the site specific requirements.
RC
Always keep within safe distance from the loader when operating with Remote Control.
MAKE SURE THAT THERE ARE NO UNAUTHORIZED PERSONS IN THE DANGER
AREAS!
Make sure that there are no other transmitters in use on the same site
operating on the same frequency.
When repairs are being carried out, the manual/remote switch must be in
the manual position.
Test out first the operation and range of the remote--control equipment on
safe terrain before being deployed in dangerous quarries, etc.
Make sure for disturbance--free operation that the batteries are kept in
good condition.

Do not leave the loader energized in the Remote Mode when not in use.
Do not leave Remote Control equipment energized when not in use.
Only trained and authorized personnel may operate the loader.
Do not operate with the Remote Control equipment until the RC User
Manual and machines Operator Manuals have been read and understood.
4.6. Emergency radio (optional)
The emergency radio system (optional) is designed to release the brakes in an
emergency situation. Please do not use it for a normal towing procedure.
The system and its components must be inspected and always
maintained. You must always make sure all components are undamaged
and functioning properly because malfunction of the system might cause
the brakes to release without warning hereby causing death or serious
personal injury.
