322 Holy Hours were kept with Our Lord in Eucharistic Adoration last week. Every Holy
Hour we make so pleases the heart of Jesus that it is recorded in Heaven and retold for all

Building on the Rock a 16 Week Study for High School Students to explore what it takes to build their

Anointing of the Sick Mass on Wednesday, October 29 at 5:30pm. Anyone in need of
physical, emotional and spiritual healing is invited to attend. If you know someone in need of
this healing sacrament, please feel free to invite them to this special Mass.

RCIA PRAYER PARTNERS ARE NEEDED as well as ladies to provide refreshments. Refreshments are
needed for approximately 11 people on a rotating basis. Beverages and paper products are provided.

Priesthood Sunday Catholics across the country will be celebrating Priesthood Sunday on October
26, 2014. It is a day set aside to celebrate the importance of the fit of priesthood in the life of the Church.
It is a time for us to reflect on the ministry that our priests share with us when we gather at the Table of
the Lord when we call in our times of need. Consider sharing a personal note or card of thanks.
Together we pray that many of our young people will be inspired by the ministry and
witness of our priests. May their hearts be open to hearing and responding to Gods call in their

St. Augustine Happenings
TODAY IS BLANKET SUNDAY! Thank you for your cash donation to our Blanket Sunday collection.
The Diocesan St. Vincent de Paul Society will make your money go further with bulk
purchases for use in our own metropolitan area. Thank you for giving the gift of warmth
this winter.

All children who will be making their First Reconciliation this year are required to attend the
Reconciliation Workshop Night, Monday, October 20 at 6:30pm in the SAC. This will be a night of fun
and learning, in which your child will begin to prepare for celebrating this new sacrament. Parents are
required to attend this event with their children. See you there!

Women of Faith: Children in our families, our parish, the City of Barberton and the world will be
the focus of our Holy Hour on Tuesday, October 21 at 6:30pm in the church. We will be praying for their
health, safety, education and faith development opportunities and family life in general. After the Holy
Hour there will be a short business meeting, socializing and yummy fall refreshments in the school
cafeteria.
The Women of Faith Membership Drive continues through October 21. Thanks to all who have
joined so far all women in the parish are invited to be part of the group. For those who join prior to
the twenty-first, your name will be entered into a drawing for a gift basket a few of your favorite
things. Check out our brochure in the vestibule of the church, or the rectory office.

Are you ready for Basketball and Cheerleading?
Basketball is offered for boys and girls in grades 3-8 and Cheerleading is offered for girls in
grades 5-8. Players must complete the CYO registration forms and bring them to school or
to the registration/physical date. (Forms are in available in the school). All students
interested in signing up for CYO basketball and cheerleading need to turn in all paperwork
to Mrs. Faessel (at the school) by Thursday, October 16. There is not a set date for sign-
ups. Due to increasing CYO fees, we are forced to raise our fees for basketball to $100
per child, while cheerleading is still $50.00. All paperwork, physicals and fees must be
paid by this date (October 16) or your child will not be added to any rosters. NO
EXCEPTIONS. This is a new policy this year and it will be strictly enforced. A physical dated after June 1,
2014 is also required for each participant. Free physicals for interested athletes will be Thursday,
October 9 from 5:30-7:00pm. First time CYO players must provide a copy of their birth certificate.

PARISH DINNER: Its time to purchase tickets for the parish PASTA DINNER to be held on
Sunday, October 26 from 11:30-2:00 pm in the school cafeteria. Adults (12+) $6.00.
Children 11-5 $3.50. Under 5 free. Tickets will be sold after Masses Oct. 11-12 and 18-19
and in the Rectory during business hours (8:30 am-4:30 pm). Invite a friend. The food is always
delicious!

Time is one of the most valuable commodities we have in life. The amount
of leisure and free time for the average person has decreased in recent years.
Many outside influences are vying for the precious time that we have.
If you believe in the importance of investing your time in friendship, the
church, and helping others, The Knights of Columbus are for you. This weekend is
recruitment Sunday, all men, 18 and older, are encouraged to help our council grow.

Cards Anyone? Join us Friday, November 7 as we play Euchre. Cards
begin at 6:30pm in the school cafeteria. A light meal will be provided.
Beginners and experienced players are welcome to come and try a hand.

Next weekend our parish will celebrate World Mission Sunday. This year we are
invited to reach out and help build the Church in Mongolia, the worlds youngest
Catholic Church, as well as local churches throughout the Missions, in the most
remote areas across our world. Through the work of these churches, and their
witness to Christ, the poor receive practical help and experience Gods love and mercy,
His hope and peace. Please keep the Missions in your daily prayers. Please come
prepared next weekend to give generously in the collection for the Society for the

2014 First Step Programs: Continuing education regarding marriage and divorce in the Catholic
Church. The Tribunal of the Diocese of Cleveland is continuing to offer its very successful First Step
Program in order to help individuals deal with the Churchs teaching on marriage, divorce, and
