FROM THE PRINCIPAL
It has been a fast-paced first semester - more than 3 months have passed since school
opened in Sep 09. We’ve had an exciting time so far, celebrating Halloween and the
Mid-Autumn Festival and soon Christmas. These festivals are intended to open our
students’ world view - participating in international celebrations increases their
knowledge of the world in a fun way, making learning more effective for them. ASYC
children have also visited 2 other indoor playgrounds in HCMC on their Friday Treats -
playing in a new environment doubles the fun.
To add variety to their physical education lessons, aerobics lessons have been
included. Qualified instructors come twice a week to conduct lessons for our children -
parents would have seen their aerobics performance on Halloween.
On the academic side, our teachers have been working hard to ensure that your
children’s learning improve with each passing week.
I am happy to announce that we will open a second Nursery class in Dec 09 as the
class size is now at a maximum of 25 students. Parents, thank you very much for all your
gifts on Teachers’ Day. From 1 Dec 2009, we will have a new reward scheme for parents
who introduce new students to ASYC; more information can be found inside this
newsletter. I look forward to improving the quality of education in ASYC and will be
grateful for any suggestions from parents.

Leaving aside the various
folktales about Halloween,
ASYC celebrates the occasion
as one of fun and
entertainment for kids and
adults alike. As mentioned,
celebrating international
festivities increases the
international awareness of
our students.
