Reasons to Reflect on Baptism #24. Baptism Calls Us to Live in the Light of our Union
With Christ, Part 2 - We Were Buried With Christ. When we say something is "dead and
buried", we mean it is gone, never to return. We are to count our old life outside of Christ
as dead and buried together with Him in the tomb. "Therefore we have been buried with
Him through baptism into death, so that as Christ was raised from the dead through the
glory of the Father, so we too might walk in newness of life." (Romans 6:4)
