The first series of Collaborative Commissioning workshops took place in the spring this year in each specialist commissioning area with the focus on local areas developing the local partnerships across specialised NHS commissioners, local NHS and social care commissioners required to identify the local and national actions and enable the development of a clear collaborative pathway. s an outcome to the first workshop local areas were e!pected to develop" #ocal action plans and record any ongoing barriers to share with $%&'( clearer understanding of how local)specialist services are configured and relate to one another* n agreed way of communicating between commissioners and an understanding of respective responsibilities* Have a shared understanding of the e!isting local pathways for individuals who are in +or may need, in-patient specialist services that are understood by all key stakeholders* The second workshop will be building on the first, with a focus on prevention, what works across the partnerships and solutions to any barriers specifically in relation to" (reventing adults with learning disabilities from being admitted to in-patient units .arly intervention with children, young people and their families 'n the second workshop, we will ask for updates on progress that areas can build upon during the day, enabling wider engagement in the development of the local area plans, including with people with learning disabilities and family carers. Commissioners should come prepared to share positive progress and learning including the outcomes for individuals and their families achieved since the first workshop. #earning will be fed into an overall pathway being developed by the $%&'(. $e are also interested in hearing about any procurement issues commissioners are e!periencing across health and social care. .ach area is asked to identify representation from across the partnership including commissioners from CC/s and #ocal uthorities +both child and adult,, representatives from provider organisations +including in patient, and people with learning disabilities and families to attend this workshop.
