1 In these 3 months I am going to be doing something just a little bit different. Due to a few really cool God moments in the last few months I have the ability to take a step back from leading DTS and to seek God in a different way for myself first and foremost! This is also an opportunity for me to take care of all those things that get set aside for that time of later which in the busy- ness of life never really come. That hot 2 culture mentality of Maana, Maana (tomorrow, tomorrow) for the things that are not time sensitive but do need to be done at some point. Later is here now mostly! Please be praying for me in this season that I would be able to manage my time well and be able to take care of all the things that I need to but also have much needed down time to rest and prepare for the next step in the journey. Its going to be a fun new season... The Glory of God is man fully alive And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people the permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others - Nelson Mandela - St. Irenaeus
2 1 In this season I feel like my word from God, to learn more about, Him and to see Him have a greater influence in my day-to-day life, is HOPE. The main thing that I have learnt so far is actually the difference between the worldly idea of hope and the biblical view. In worldly hope, its an expression of uncertainty. Biblical hope is 2 not just a desire for something good in the future, but rather: A confident expectation and desire for something good in the future.
It not only expects it to happen; it is confident that it will happen. There is a certainty that the good we expect and desire will be done. Hope is something that is rooted in the faithfulness of 3 God. Hope is the part of faith that is based in the future, the part unseen to us. Faith is the assurance of that which is hoped for, the conviction of things not seen Heb 11:1 Where there is a full assurance of hope there is Faith. Faith is the full assurance of hope. It is a confident expectation and desire of good things in the future. Yet I still dare to hope when I remember this; the faithful love of the Lord never ends! His mercies never cease, great is His faithfulness; His mercies begin afresh each morning. Lam. 3:21-23 HOPE
To expect with confidence --- To cherish a desire with anticipation 4 Faith is our confidence in the Word of God, and whenever that Word has reference to the future, you can call our confidence in it hope. Hope is faith in the future tense. My goal is to better understand what it means to dare to dream, to do so in 5 confidence to allow God to direct things for the future, to submit to Him those things that my heart longs for.
3 1 After the three-month lecture phase, we embark on a two- month cross-cultural outreach, activating newfound knowledge and faith like never before. Its tough. Its intense. Its awesome. They often face primitive living conditions, long days, hard work and other challenges. We live, 2 work, worship, pray and minister as a team. Sharing Gods love in word and deed can take many different shapes from painting a police station or holding orphaned babies to facilitating a hospital-based vaccination program or teaching a bible study in a local church. Outreach 3 locations are prayerfully determined during the lecture phase and could be anywhere in the world; so far I have been to Solomon Islands (March - May 2013) and Morocco (March - May 2014) from December 2014 through to February 2015 I will be in Papua New Guinea. 12 What is Outreach?

Papua New Guinea My next Outreach location for December through to February Ever since I was younger I have had a pull on my heart to go to the nations What that meant I didnt really know. At 18 most of you know I took the first step on that journey with doing my DTS, and during that time God began to be something that was more of a solid foundational part of my life than just a mystic up there being. As I spent time seeking God from that point on about what was my life to look like, what was my purpose, I have learnt more and more that it is simply to be in relationship with Him, but inside of that He dreams over me, He has desires for what my life would accomplish. I have been feeling for a long time that I am called to Islands. What that looks like fully I dont know. I think it helps and is mildly ironic (if we believe in irony) that Jersey is an Island, as is Ambergris Caye, Belize where I now call home. It has been a trend throughout my walk with God and will continue that way as I step back out into the world leading an amazing team of 11 students into the Pacific Islands again this time to Papua New Guinea.
