A trip to
remember
Every year staf at Kings arrange
a three-day outward bound
excursion for GCSE students.
The trip provides a great opportunity for younger students across all three
of our colleges to build long-lasting bonds with their new classmates. It
also gives them the opportunity to learn new skills, challenge themselves
outside the classroom, and become more confdent.
Fun activities include archery, climbing, orienteering and sand sledging.

A taste of Halloween
Other events
Beach sports
and activities
Bournemouths beach is one of the best in the UK, and provides the perfect
environment for a host of year-round activities.
Helio Filho, who took part in a recent football tournament, said Bournemouth is such a
good place to make friends and play football on the beach. This day was amazing and I
hope to play even more with my friends from Kings.
Students at Kings come from all over the
world, and part of their experience
involves learning about cultural
celebrations and events in the UK.
One such celebration is Halloween. Kings
Bournemouth students had frst-hand
experience of this last October with an
all-day fancy dress festa followed by an
evening party.
A Kings Extravaganza
Every year, teachers, students, and host
families get together for a Christmas
Extravaganza at Kings Bournemouth.
The evenings festivities include the
Christmas play, which, most recently,
was a production of 'Much Ado About
Nothing'. The play was prepared by
students taking part in the Trinity Arts
Award, and the evening's catering and
hospitality was managed by students
on the Tourism and Hospitality
programmes.

Choosing a club at Kings London
During induction week, students at Kings London visit the

activities available at the College.
They can sign up for a whole range of clubs including
Photography Club, World Afairs Society, Debating Society,
Textiles Society, and Drama Club.
Director of Studies, Mark Poolton said Extra-curricular activities
are a great way to make your university application really stand out
to admissions tutors. They help you to relax outside your studies
and make new friends".
As an international college, we like to embrace the cultural
celebrations of all our students. In 2014 we helped our Chinese
students mark the Lunar New Year by decorating the canteen
and reception area with red and gold lanterns, and serving
traditional Chinese food.
Foundation student Lester Hu (pictured) was managing the
calligraphy table and said: Its great to be able to show my
non-Chinese friends how to do Chinese calligraphy. As an artist, its
an aspect of my culture that is visual so I think it is very interesting.

Staf vs.
Students!
We raise money for charitable causes through
events and activities across all Kings locations.
In 2014 a charity football match was organised to
raise money for the people afected by foods in
Serbia, with staf and students both taking part.
Several times each year Kings Oxford
holds a photography competition.
Its a great way to encourage students to
explore the wonderful city they live in,
and to show of their creative skills. One of

The international
language of music
One of Kings Oxfords most popular extracurricular clubs is the Music Club, members
of which played at the 2014 May Ball.
Xueru Cai (Wayne) from China commented: I have been playing the guitar for years
and I am learning how to play the drums now. We played four songs during the ball, and
I personally think that was the best night ever.
