Womens Pro Tour to Re-launch
With USBC, BPAA Commitment
ARLINGTON, Texas The Professional Womens Bowling
Association (PWBA) Tour will re-launch in 2015 with a three-year
funding commitment from the United States Bowling Congress
(USBC) and Bowling Proprietors Association of America (BPAA).
Preliminary plans call for a nine-event tour running from mid-summer
through early fall.
We have seen womens bowling experience fantastic growth in the
participation and skill development at the high school and collegiate
level in recent years, USBC president Andrew Cain said. Now the
USBC and BPAA are uniting to provide this talented next generation of
women a professional tour to continue pursuing their passion for the
sport.
An initial framework approved by both the USBC and BPAA Boards
of Directors calls for an equal investment by USBC and BPAA to sup-
port operation and guaranteed prize funds of the PWBA Tour for the
2015, 2016 and 2017 seasons. Events will have a Friday-Sunday format
to allow PWBA members to bowl tour stops and have flexibility for
family or job obligations during the week.
The new PWBA Tour must fit the lifestyle balance todays women
need, BPAA President Tom Martino said. Women shouldnt have to
choose between pursuing their dream as a professional bowler and the
stability of traditional home life. We want the new tour to be an option
for as many women as possible.
The initial framework for the 2015 PWBA Tour calls for eight regu-
lar-season tour events culminating in a PWBA Tour Championship as
the ninth event. The regular season will be live streamed online with a
broadcast partner sought for the PWBA Tour Championship. A search
will be conducted to hire support staff with USBC and BPAA provid-
ing assistance until the structure is developed.
In the coming weeks, a process will be announced to identify host
centers for the 2015 PWBA Tour stops. Additional information about
PWBA membership, event format and tour structure will be released in
the future and available on BOWL.com.

15-year-old Steve Plaszky Fired 289
In Stan Niemiec Youth Travelers
Opener at Holiday Bowl
By Vince Albrecht
OAKLAND, NJ - As is customary, the Stan Niemiec Youth Travel
League opened its season in the house of the past years champion,
Holiday Bowl. The YTL expanded to eleven teams with the return of
North Arlingtons Bowl-O-Drome and newcomer T-Bowl. This, along
with the loss of some high school keglers to graduation, brings a num-
ber of new faces this Autumn.
Leading the scorers in the session were 15-year-old Steve Plaszky with
a third game 289 for a 659 set and newcomer Al Chamberlain who
pounded the maples with a triple deuce 704 [227-229-248]. Steves Fair
Lawn squad downed Lodi with the added assistance of Matt Myers 218:
578 and Madison Perry 194. Pacing Lodi was newcomer Steve Kropilak
214: 580 and recently turned 12-year-old Louis Ferrante added a 191.
Chamberlain had help from younger brother Tom 208-211 in Holiday
IIs 5-2 conquest of T-Bowl; scoring well for the latter were Patrick
Mayer 200: 532 and Matt Morris 187-189.
Defending champion Holiday I added David Neil to its roster and he
responded with 202-224: 614; a flurry of deuces from his teammates
[Nick Cilento 207-206-200, Alex McGuire 204 and Ryan McGuire 201]
wasnt enough as they dropped two of three games to last years runner-
up Bowler City I, 2931-2900; slamming the plastic-coats for the victors
were anchor James Kane 235-215: 631, Jonmikal Sepero 246: 626 and
Kristen Kane 204.
Montvale outdueled Boonton in a high-scoring finale, 1052-994 to
come away with five points, 2928-2897. Fourteen-year-old Matt Russell
had 201-215: 592, Nick Fabiano 214: 584, Henry Tipping 192-194 and
twelve-year-old Michaella Raab 167 for the winners. Sweeping the
wood for Boonton were Karl Kattermann 217-215-233: 665, his brother
Erik 238: 599 and thirteen-year-old Adam Gelvan 201.
Elsewhere, Bowler City III took out Bowler City II behind Greg Khan
208: 579 and Nathan Tombo 211; newcomers Gianni Calzadilla and
Derek Lewandowski contributed 169 and 158 respectively. Highs for the
BC II entry were Dean Edwards 186 and Arielle Wallace 185. Rounding
out the session, North Arlington displayed some firepower from anchor
Donovan Battistus who carved out a superb 235-243: 665 while Chris
Liloia added a 196 single.
