CMAS testing starts for High School Seniors FIRST week of November

These tests are UNNECESSARY.

These tests are set up to fail our kids with less than 30% expected passing rate.
These tests will not provide your childs teacher with useful feedback.
These tests do not impact the schools financially.

Dont need it for college. Dont need it for career.
Dont need to take time away from senior year.

Parents, excuse, refuse, or opt out of November CMAS science and social studies testing.

Please let your students high school know with this Sample Letter:
My child, (child's name), will not be taking the CMAS test in science and social studies at (school name) on or
during (dates if known - can note general time such as 2014-15 school year). My child should not be asked about my
refusal to allow participation, should not be pressured to participate, and should not be asked to make up the test.
I understand that if participation rates in state tests drop below 95 percent at the school, the state can drop the
schools one level in their school performance ratings (SPF). However, I also know that as long as a school/district
has written documentation that the test participation rate dropped because of parent refusals, schools can appeal any
drop in ratings or accreditation.
