Opening of New ADCs at 1LINK
New ADCs (Alternate Delivery Channel) have
been opened at 1LINK under a policy
document approved in the last Board of
Directors meeting. The memorandum for the
addition of new ADCs was also circulated in
May 2007 to inform all member banks on this
strategic move. It was decided by 1LINK in
the light of policy document that IBFT and
UBPS services will be expanded to include
other delivery channels of Member Banks.
The delivery channels enabled for 1LINK
services are Call Center, IVR and Internet
Banking.

Faysal Bank VISA Certification
Faysal Bank has
become the Fifth
Bank (after HBL, UBL, DIB and SBL) to certify
with 1LINK for VISA Services. The successful
certification of Faysal Bank was conducted in
the month of May for BASEI issuer
certification. The Bank has plans to become
VISA Acquirer (SMS Certification) at a later
stage after the launch of VISA Debit Cards.

New IBFT Banks;
BankIslami & NIB Bank
The major achievements for the month of May
were the successful
certifications of NIB Bank and
BankIslami for IBFT Service.
The joining of these two banks has expanded
the IBFT participating bank
network to 11 Banks. The
certification of non-phoenix
banks in the IBFT network is
also a landmark as both of
these banks are using Avanza
Solution and were successfully certified by
1LINK technology provider (TPS) for IBFT
Service.

Amalgamation of Prime Bank
The amalgamation of Prime Bank with ABN
AMRO has also brought the
ATM network of Ex-Prime
Bank in 1LINK. 1LINK was
informed officially in the month
of May to schedule the merger activity of
Prime Bank ATM Network with 1LINK. The
teams involved in the merger activities are
aggressively working to complete the
migration process in the least possible time.


Joining of Standard Chartered Bank
Pakistan Limited
Standard Chartered
Bank Pakistan
Limited (SCBPL) has
now become a founding Member Bank of
1LINK by virtue of the amalgamation process
with Union Bank Limited. SCBPL has decided
to retain the founding membership of 1LINK
and forgo their membership with MNET. The
Bank is in the process of complete migration
to 1LINK and closely working with 1LINK on
different project management activities.

ABL-IBFT Internet Banking
Allied Bank has become the first
Bank to initiate IBFT transactions
using their Internet Banking
Facility. The customers of Allied
Bank can now transfer funds into
the account of Participating IBFT
Banks using the Allied Direct (Internet
Banking Service) from Internet. The opening
of new ADC for IBFT not only facilitates the
customers to transfers funds but also opens
new avenues for sending the funds to IBFT
banks from any part of the world using
Internet Banking Service.

1LINK-UBPS cutover
The cutover activity for UBPS-
SSGC service was conducted in
the month of June. The live UBPS
server has been placed in the
production environment to offer
UBPS service to certified member banks.
1LINK has already certified five member
banks for UBPS service over SSGC billing
data. ABN AMRO Bank and United Bank have
performed their cutovers with 1LINK where as
Bank AL Habib, Bank Alfalah and Habib Bank
are in the process of scheduling the activity
with 1LINK.
Atlas Banks Acquirer Certification
Atlas Bank has laid
the foundation to
establish their own
ATM Network. The bank initially joined 1LINK
as an issuer only bank but later on in the
month of April 1LINK certified the ATM
network of Atlas Bank for the acquiring of
1LINK member banks cards. The bank also
has plans to increase their ATM network by
the end of this year.

We are pleased to publish the newsletter for QII-
2007. The objective of this newsletter is to
provide a brief overview on the activities
performed by 1LINK throughout the quarter. The
newsletter covers all major task areas and
provides insight knowledge on the progress of
1LINK Business Development activities.

During the last quarter significant progress was
made by 1LINK, which includes the joining of
new Banks, Opening of new ADCs,
Certifications of new IBFT and VISA banks and
signing of agreements with Cellular Companies.
However the uncertain events of Strikes, Rallies
and Cyclone in Karachi directly or indirectly
affected the momentum of Business
Development activities.

We hope that you will find the newsletter in the
