There are few prophecies in the Holy Bible more heart-stirring and breathtaking than the image in Revelation 17 of the Great Harlot, the woman who rides upon a frightening, scarlet-coloured beast with seven heads and ten horns. Imperiously dressed in purple and scarlet, with a golden cup in her hand full of abominations and filth of her fornication, the brazen Harlot is decked with gold and precious stones and pearls. The Apostle John, whose heavenly vision so vividly pictured the strange woman, noted especially the revealing name she had written upon her forehead, MYSTERY, BABYLON THE GREAT, THE MOTHER OF HARLOTS AND ABOMINATIONS OF THE EARTH.

The Apostle was clearly stricken when seeing this powerful image for he was told in the vision that the seven heads of the beast represented seven mountains that the woman sat upon. The woman, Paul was told, signifies a notorious, yet great city. This is that city, said the angel in the vision, which reigneth over the kings of the earth.

Perhaps the most terrifying of all was John’s recognition of the awful specter of death that the woman represented. And I saw the woman drunken with the blood of the martyrs of Jesus, testified the Apostle. And when I saw her, I wondered with great admiration.

Some claim that there is a beautiful side of evil, enticing, dangerous, monstrous and deadly, yet somehow sickeningly alluring and inviting. It seems that even the most wicked on rare occasions possess the ability to awe the world and fill onlookers with a curious combination of macabre, mystery, and trepidation.

Bible scholars say that the Apostle John wrote down his prophetic vision, which we know today as the Book of Revelation, in the year 92 AD. In the succeeding centuries, many have studied these awe-inspiring verses and have pondered and meditated on their meaning. Everyone knows how supremely important it is that humanity as a whole, but particularly the Christian Church, grasp the profound nature of these prophecies. The future of mankind itself and the destiny of every nation are bound up in this heaven-sent vision of endtime tragedy against the backdrop of divine victory.

Thankfully, God has designed and constructed His prophetic Word so that his disciples—the men and women who know and honor Jesus Christ as Lord—will be able to decipher and understand the meaning of these passages, though they be laden with seemingly obscure symbolic content. In Daniel 12:10 we discover the promise that God will empower His latter day servants with prophetic discernment:

And the wicked will do wickedly and none of the wicked shall understand. But the wise shall understand.

The wise refers to the godly person whose wisdom and knowledge come not from his own superior intelligence or inherent brain capacity but direct from God. As the Apostle Paul so joyously put it, Christ in you, the hope of glory. It is a glorious thing that God does in imparting wisdom and understanding to His children.

Edward Hendrie’s work goes far in honoring the views and works of these excellent teachers, but he goes even further. He also takes their facts and comparative studies and builds on their conclusions. His investigation is greater in depth and more encompassing.

The prophecies center on Babylon and on the iniquities of that far-flung political, economic, cultural, and religious system. What was Babylon? What did its priests and leaders teach as their core doctrine? What were ancient Babylon’s symbols and its abominations? Why has Babylon always been a codeword for spiritual decadence and sexual debauchery? Edward Hendrie's original research on these important issues is eye-opening.

Hendrie’s book paints a convincing picture of the meaning of ancient Babylon and also shows how the Roman Catholic Church, the Papacy, and its rituals and practices, are mirror images of the Babylonian evil. But there is yet another religious system that is full to the brim with Babylonianism. The men and women immersed in this system promote a sordid and repulsive way of life that has definite connections to ancient Babylon and its satanic traditions. That system is Judaism and the culture of World Jewry.

What few know, but Edward Hendrie has discovered, is that from the inception of Christianity, the major enemy of God’s Church and the number one polluter and destroyer of Christendom has been Pharisaic Judaism. Moreover, Jewry, a culture which is controlled and directed by rabbinical zealots, has historically been hostile to the Christian Church and to this day does everything in its considerable power to undermine and poison the roots of Biblical Christianity.

Hendrie demonstrates and proves this hateful animosity on the part of World Jewry and especially by those Jews active in the religion of Judaism. He explains and documents why the Jews are imbued with such an unjustifiable but overwhelming hatred and loathing for Christianity and Christians.

Contrary to what most people think to be the case, Hendrie documents that Judaism is not the religion of the Old Testament and the prophets. Instead, Judaism comes from the same perverted spiritual fountain as does the Roman Catholic Church: Babylon. Judaism’s most holy book is the Babylonian Talmud, and the inner teachings of Judaism—an unscriptural, satanic religion embraced by its elders and high priests—is pure Babylonianism.

Hendrie even proves that it was Babylonian-believing Jews who founded the Roman Catholic Church. These Jewish infiltrators sought to wrest away the true Christian faith from the teachings and principles of the Apostles and the New Testament. The goal of these Jews was to remold the Christian Church into a weakened version of Phariseeism, itself based on dogma and practices the Jews had brought back to Jerusalem following their long Babylonian captivity.

Jesus told us that the Jews’ religion is not of God but was constructed of man-made traditions. He bluntly accused the Pharisees (The Encyclopedia Judaica says that Phariseeism is today’s Orthodox Jewry): Ye are of your father the devil. Somehow, over the centuries these warnings and statements of Jesus were forgotten and now are unrespected by most evangelical Christians. How tragic, for if we but listened to what Jesus said, we would understand the grave danger that Christendom is confronted with today due to the satanic horrors of Judaism.

Hendrie, fortunately, does take into account these warnings of Jesus and also those of Paul, the apostles, and the prophets. His research and insights point us to a clear understanding of the two-pronged Babylonian enemy that even now is at our very doorstep.

Edward Hendrie proves from the Scriptures and from his own thorough investigation that both the Zionists and Rome are jointly involved in a despicable endtime conspiracy against God’s Word and His saints. Together, they form the corrupt and ominous Mystery Babylon world system of evil pictured so poignantly in the book of Revelation.

Once you realize that Judaism, its offshoot, Zionism, and Rome’s Catholicism come from the same bitter Babylonian waters, so much of the Bible and its prophecies come into focus. Author’s Preface

The research for this book began over ten years ago.  My first book was titled Antichrist Conspiracy, Inside the Devil’s Lair.[1]  The book was intended as an exposition on the unbiblical theology of the Roman Catholic Church.  As I researched the theology of the Roman church, however, I discovered political, financial, and media tentacles flowing from the core of what was supposed to be a religious institution.

As I researched the Catholic religion and followed the tentacles I discovered a connection between the Catholic Church and Zionist Jews.  The evidence was there, but the connections were not overt, they were in the shadows, concealed from view.  It was clear that there was a synergism between Judaic and Catholic interests.  I followed the evidence and reported my findings in Antichrist Conspiracy.  After publishing Antichrist Conspiracy, I continued to dig deeper; I was able to find more solid evidence of the connection between Rome and Jerusalem. This book is the culmination of that research.

As I followed the tentacles from the Vatican I discovered that the Jewish connection with Rome was not simply one of synergy but rather one of control.  I discovered credible evidence that the Roman Catholic Church was established by crypto-Jews as a false Christian front for a Judaic/Babylonian religion.  That religion is the core of a world conspiracy against man and God.  That is not a soft conspiracy theory based upon speculation; it is the hard truth supported by authoritative evidence, which is documented in this book.

Introduction

God’s plan is to first establish the earthly and then the spiritual.   "Howbeit that was not first which is spiritual, but that which is natural; and afterward that which is spiritual.  The first man is of the earth, earthy: the second man is the Lord from heaven.  As is the earthy, such are they also that are earthy: and as is the heavenly, such are they also that are heavenly." (1 Corinthians 15:46-48 AV) God will not reverse course and reestablish the earthly kingdom of Israel in place of his spiritual kingdom of Israel.  That is contrary to his revealed plan.  Fleshly Israel was intended by God for an example to us, his church.  1 Corinthians 10:6.  It is not the circumcision of the flesh that counts but the circumcision of the heart.  Colossians 2:11.

The bible makes clear that the old covenant made to fleshly Israel has vanished away, being replaced by the new covenant of faith in Jesus Christ.  "In that he saith, A new covenant, he hath made the first old. Now that which decayeth and waxeth old is ready to vanish away. (Hebrews 8:13 AV)  Why would God reinstate something which he has said would vanish away and in which he has had no pleasure?  In burnt offerings and sacrifices for sin thou hast had no pleasure." (Hebrews 10:6 AV)

Fleshly Israel is symbolized by the fig tree. That fig tree will never again bear fruit.

And seeing a fig tree afar off having leaves, he came, if haply he might find any thing thereon: and when he came to it, he found nothing but leaves; for the time of figs was not yet.  And Jesus answered and said unto it, No man eat fruit of thee hereafter for ever. And his disciples heard it. . . .  And in the morning, as they passed by, they saw the fig tree dried up from the roots.  And Peter calling to remembrance saith unto him, Master, behold, the fig tree which thou cursedst is withered away. (Mark 11:13-14, 20-21 AV)

Spiritual Israel is symbolized by the olive tree.  Can the fig tree, my brethren, bear olive berries? either a vine, figs? so can no fountain both yield salt water and fresh. (James 3:12 AV)  The answer is no!  Fleshly Israel will never ever bear spiritual fruit for God.  The spiritual fruit only comes from the spiritual olive plant, the church.

The blessings of God do not flow to the physical seed of Abraham but rather to his spiritual seed.  Who is the seed of Abraham?   Jesus is the seed of Abraham.   "Now to Abraham and his seed were the promises made. He saith not, And to seeds, as of many; but as of one, And to thy seed, which is Christ.  (Galatians 3:16 AV)

All who believe in Jesus are heirs of the promise given to Abraham.  Galatians 3:23-29.   A true Jew is the spiritual seed of Abraham, not the physical seed.  "For he is not a Jew, which is one outwardly; neither is that circumcision, which is outward in the flesh:  But he is a Jew, which is one inwardly; and circumcision is that of the heart, in the spirit, and not in the letter; whose praise is not of men, but of God. (Romans 2:28-29 AV)  Not as though the word of God hath taken none effect. For they are not all Israel, which are of Israel:  Neither, because they are the seed of Abraham, are they all children: but, In Isaac shall thy seed be called.  That is, They which are the children of the flesh, these are not the children of God: but the children of the promise are counted for the seed." (Romans 9:6-8 AV)

The eternal blessings of Abraham flow to all who believe in Jesus Christ. God’s kingdom is a spiritual kingdom not an earthly kingdom.  His children are spiritual children not earthly children.  In God’s kingdom there are no distinctions between Jew or Gentile.  "There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor female: for ye are all one in Christ Jesus.  And if ye be Christ's, then are ye Abraham's seed, and heirs according to the promise." The Jews do not accept that God’s plan was based upon salvation by the grace of God through faith in Jesus Christ.  The Jews cling to their Babylonian notion of racial superiority.  Their rejection of the God of the bible is the basis for creating a rival religion that uses Christian language, but is Judaic to its core.  The crypto-Judaism is not the religion of the Old Testament it is the religion of Babylon.  This crypto-Jewish religion is Roman Catholicism.  This book authoritatively establishes that the Roman Catholic Church is Babylon the Great.  It is called Mystery because it presents itself as a Christian church, when in fact that is a false front for a Judeo/Babylonian theocracy.  That theocracy was introduced through the influence of crypto-Jews.

The Bible states that the Devil is at war with Christians, who are the spiritual seed of Jesus.  Revelation 12:17.  The Catholic priesthood who impose the fleshly Judaic rules of the Roman church are soldiers in a war against Christ and Christians.  Galatians 4:29.  The rank and file members of the Catholic church are, for the most part, unwitting victims of clerical spiritual corruption, just as the ordinary Jews are victims of their clerics.  It is for these and all other victims of religious deception that this book is written.   Some would prefer that I remain silent about this religious malfeasance.  I will simply respond:  Am I therefore become your enemy, because I tell you the truth?  Galatians 4:16.

1 The Great Wonder in Heaven

Most people focus on the harlot, Babylon the Great, in the book of Revelation, but there is another woman in Revelation who holds the key to the mystery of the great harlot:

And there appeared a great wonder in heaven; a woman clothed with the sun, and the moon under her feet, and upon her head a crown of twelve stars: And she being with child cried, travailing in birth, and pained to be delivered. And there appeared another wonder in heaven; and behold a great red dragon, having seven heads and ten horns, and seven crowns upon his heads. And his tail drew the third part of the stars of heaven, and did cast them to the earth: and the dragon stood before the woman which was ready to be delivered, for to devour her child as soon as it was born. And she brought forth a man child, who was to rule all nations with a rod of iron: and her child was caught up unto God, and to his throne. (Revelation 12:1-5 AV)

Who is this woman?  Let’s look at the clues.  She has upon her head twelve stars.  What is the meaning of those twelve stars?  God, in the book of Genesis, reveals the answer.  Joseph, who is one of the twelve children of Jacob (a/k/a Israel), explains a dream to his brothers.  That dream describes his brothers as eleven stars.  Of course Joseph is the twelfth star, making the twelve stars of Israel.

And he dreamed yet another dream, and told it his brethren, and said, Behold, I have dreamed a dream more; and, behold, the sun and the moon and the eleven stars made obeisance to me. And he told it to his father, and to his brethren: and his father rebuked him, and said unto him, What is this dream that thou hast dreamed? Shall I and thy mother and thy brethren indeed come to bow down ourselves to thee to the earth? (Genesis 37:9-10 AV)

Notice that Joseph’s prophecy not only depicts eleven stars, but also depicts the sun and the moon making obeisance to him.  The woman of Revelation 12 was "clothed with the sun, and the

moon under her feet."   Joseph’s father, Jacob, understood that the moon and sun symbolized Joseph’s mother (Rachel) and father (Jacob/Israel).

The woman in Revelation 12 is Israel, but not the Israel of the earth, but rather the heavenly Israel of the promise.  Notice that the woman in Revelation is a great wonder in heaven.  The Israel of Revelation is a heavenly spiritual Israel.  Not all who are of the Israel on earth are the Israel of God.

Not as though the word of God hath taken none effect. For they are not all Israel, which are of Israel: Neither, because they are the seed of Abraham, are they all children: but, In Isaac shall thy seed be called. That is, They which are the children of the flesh, these are not the children of God: but the children of the promise are counted for the seed. (Romans 9:6-8 AV)

The promises made to Abraham flowed not to his physical but rather to his spiritual seed.  Now to Abraham and his seed were the promises made. He saith not, And to seeds, as of many; but as of one, And to thy seed, which is Christ. (Galatians 3:16 AV) Those who have faith in Jesus Christ are the seed of Abraham, and inherit the eternal promises made to him by God.  "And if ye be Christ’s, then are ye Abraham’s seed, and heirs according to the promise." (Galatians 3:29 AV)

The spiritual Israel of Revelation brings "forth a man child, who was to rule all nations with a rod of iron: and her child was caught up unto God, and to his throne. Revelation 12:5.  That man child of Revelation is Jesus Christ.  He is taken up to God and to his throne and rules the nations with a rod of iron. Hereafter shall the Son of man sit on the right hand of the power of God. (Luke 22:69 AV)  And out of his mouth goeth a sharp sword, that with it he should smite the nations: and he shall rule them with a rod of iron: and he treadeth the winepress of the fierceness and wrath of Almighty God. (Revelation 19:15 AV) Jesus is the prophesied son of David, the promised seed of Abraham.  The book of the generation of Jesus Christ, the son of David, the son of Abraham." (Matthew 1:1 AV)

Notice that the great red dragon stood before the woman which was ready to be delivered, for to devour her child as soon as it was born. Revelation 12:4. Who is this great red dragon?  It is none other than that old serpent, called the Devil, and Satan, which deceiveth the whole world.  Revelation 12:9.  The child that the great red dragon was ready to devour was Jesus.  Who was the agent of the devil that tried to kill Jesus?  Herod, King of Israel.

Then Herod, when he saw that he was mocked of the wise men, was exceeding wroth, and sent forth, and slew all the children that were in Bethlehem, and in all the coasts thereof, from two years old and under, according to the time which he had diligently enquired of the wise men. (Matthew 2:16 AV)

The dragon was then cast out of heaven to the earth and when the dragon saw that he was cast unto the earth, he persecuted the woman which brought forth the man child. Revelation 12:13.  The woman was then protected by God.  The dragon then made war with her seed.  Who is her seed?  They are the children of God who have the testimony of Jesus Christ. Revelation 12:17.

And to the woman were given two wings of a great eagle, that she might fly into the wilderness, into her place, where she is nourished for a time, and times, and half a time, from the face of the serpent. And the serpent cast out of his mouth water as a flood after the woman, that he might cause her to be carried away of the flood. And the earth helped the woman, and the earth opened her mouth, and swallowed up the flood which the dragon cast out of his mouth. And the dragon was wroth with the woman, and went to make war with the remnant of her seed, which keep the commandments of God, and have the testimony of Jesus Christ. And I stood upon the sand of the sea, and saw a beast rise up out of the sea, having seven heads and ten horns, and upon his horns ten crowns, and upon his heads the name of blasphemy. And the beast which I saw was like unto a leopard, and his feet were as the feet of a bear, and his mouth as the mouth of a lion: and the dragon gave him his power, and his seat, and great authority. (Revelation 12:14-13:2 AV)

Notice that after the dragon was cast to the earth a great beast was seen rising out of the sea.  This sea beast has the same seven heads and ten horns, and seven crowns upon his headsas the dragon who was in heaven ready to devour the newborn child in Revelation 12:3. This is clearly the earthly manifestation of the dragon, who is the Devil.  The description suggests that it is a continuation of the heathen governments of the earth.  In Daniel, chapters  7-8 we read that the leopard, the bear, and the lion were symbolic of three successive kings.  Daniel refers to a fourth kingdom that would be diverse from the rest.  That kingdom will have ten horns, and one of the horns "shall speak great words against the most High, and shall wear out the saints of the most High, and think to change times and laws: and they shall be given into his hand until a time and times and the dividing of time." Daniel 7:25.

The key to identifying the horn of Daniel is to find an institution that has changed God’s laws and times.   The Jews consider a violation of any of the ten commandments in Exodus chapter 20 to be a capital offense.  In order to avoid such a harsh punishment, the commandments are reinterpreted through tradition to mean something other than what is said in the text.  For example, the Eighth commandment in Exodus 20:15 against stealing is given a different meaning.  It is interpreted by the Jews to not be a prohibition against stealing property, since stealing property is not a capital offense under Jewish tradition.  The Jews limit the Eighth Commandment to be a prohibition against 'stealing' (that is, kidnapping) a Jewish person.[3]  The Eighth Commandment is also not considered by Jews to be  a prohibition against stealing (kidnapping) a gentile since kidnapping of Gentiles by Jews is allowed by talmudic law.[4]

Changing God’s laws is a practice that was inculcated into the Roman church by the crypto-Jews, who had established a long tradition of rules that nullify God’s commandments. While typically the Jews nullified the commandments through interpretation, the Catholic Church opted for a more direct approach of simply rewriting the commandments.  In order to avoid God’s prohibition on graven images, the Catholic church deletes the second commandment.  They have changed God’s laws.  The second commandment in Exodus chapter 20 states: "Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth:  Thou shalt not bow down thyself to them, nor serve them." Exodus 20:4.  This leaves the Catholic Church with only nine commandments.  The Catholic Church simply splits the last commandment into two commandments to make up for the missing commandment.  The single commandment against coveting is changed into two commandments against coveting thy neighbor’s goods and coveting a neighbor’s wife.[5]   The Catholic Ten Commandments are different from God’s Ten Commandments.

God’s first commandment states that "I am the LORD thy God, which have brought thee out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondage.  Thou shalt have no other gods before me.  The traditional Catholic catechism simply states the following in place of the first two commandments: 1. I am the Lord your God: you shall not have strange gods before me."[6]   Notice that the prohibition against making graven images and bowing to them or serving them is deleted.  In addition, the Romish church allows the worship of other gods as long as they are not strange gods.  So it is permissible to have Mary and all the saints as other gods because they are not strange gods according to Catholic doctrine.  They have changed the commandments of God in order to set up their own religion in direct opposition to God’s true commands.

The Catholic Church has also changed the times.  It claims that the Lord’s day is the first day of the week (Sunday) because Jesus purportedly rose from the dead on Sunday and that consequently Sunday replaces the seventh day (Saturday) as the day of rest.[7]  The only reference in the Bible to the Lord’s day is found in Revelation 1:10 and is probably a reference to the sabbath of the seventh day of the week (Saturday).

We are justified not by keeping the sabbath or any other ordinance, but by faith in Jesus Christ.  Jesus nailed the Old Testament law to the cross.  He fulfilled the requirements of the law on our behalf.  We are no longer obligated to the law, including the sabbath requirements.  "Let no man therefore judge you in meat, or in drink, or in respect of an holyday, or of the new moon, or of the sabbath days: Which are a shadow of things to come; but the body is of Christ. (Colossians 2:16-17 AV) God did away with the requirements of the law under the New Testament.  In that he saith, A new covenant, he hath made the first old. Now that which decayeth and waxeth old is ready to vanish away. (Hebrews 8:13 AV) We keep the new law out of love for God.  Our obedience to his new law is evidence of our faith.  A new commandment I give unto you, That ye love one another; as I have loved you, that ye also love one another.  By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one to another." (John 13:34-35 AV)

The Catholic Church, on the other hand, requires that [o]n Sundays and other holy days of obligation, the faithful are to refrain from engaging in work or activities that hinder the worship owed to God.[8]  As a result of the Roman Catholic Church’s twisting of the Holy Scripture, they have changed the sabbath day, or day of rest, from the last day of the week (Saturday) to the first day of the week (Sunday).  The  Roman Catholic Church’s changing of the day of rest from the seventh day to the first day of the week, along with their deletion of the second commandment, is a fulfillment of the prophecy in Daniel that the horn would think to change times and laws.

Jesus was crucified on Passover, which was the 4th day of the week, Wednesday (Matthew 26:2, John 13:1, 18:28, 39).  Jesus was crucified on the day of Passover (Luke 22-23, Matthew 26:2).  That is why the day Jesus Christ was crucified is referred to as the preparation of the Passover and not the preparation for the Passover.  The Passover was the preparation day for the unleavened bread sabbath that always follows the Passover.

And it was the preparation of the Passover, and about the sixth hour: and he saith unto the Jews, Behold your King!  (John 19:14 AV)

The day Jesus was crucified was the preparation day before the sabbath (Mark 15:42), which is why many believe it was the sixth day of the week, Friday.  What many do not realize is that there were many other Sabbaths throughout the year in addition to the weekly sabbath.  That would mean that there would be many occasions when there would be two sabbath days during some weeks.  The week of Jesus’ crucifixion was one of those weeks with two Sabbaths.  How do I know that there were two Sabbaths?  Because the Bible states that Christ was crucified the day before the high sabbath, and not the day before the weekly sabbath.

The Jews therefore, because it was the preparation, that the bodies should not remain upon the cross on the sabbath day, (for that sabbath day was an high day,) besought Pilate that their legs might be broken, and that they might be taken away.  (John 19:31 AV)

The next day after Jesus’ crucifixion was a high sabbath, it was the first day of the seven day feast of unleavened bread and the 5th day of the week, Thursday (John 19:31).  The fourteenth day of the first month is the Passover  (Leviticus 23:4-5, Exodus 12:17-18).  Passover is immediately followed by the seven days of unleavened bread (Leviticus 23:6-7, Exodus 12:15-16).  A Sabbath day is a day of rest. God ordained that the Fifteenth day of the first month (the day after Passover) was to be a day of rest, that is a sabbath day (Leviticus 23:6-7).

The next day (the 6th day of the week, Friday) the women bought the spices (Mark 16:1) and prepared the spices for Jesus’ body (Luke 23:56).   The women prepared the spices and ointments before the sabbath (Luke 23:53-24:3 AV), but they did not buy the spices until after the sabbath (Mark 16:1-6 AV).  How can one prepare the spices before they are purchased?  It would not be possible unless there were two Sabbaths.  The women prepared the spices before the weekly sabbath but had purchased them after the unleavened bread sabbath.  Those passages  point to a Wednesday crucifixion with the unleavened bread sabbath the next day, Thursday, and Christ rising from the dead exactly 3 days and 3 nights, 72 hours, later on the weekly sabbath, Saturday.  The women would have both purchased the spices and prepared them on Friday, which would have been before the weekly sabbath on Saturday and after the unleavened bread sabbath, which was on Thursday.  The tomb was found empty on the first day of the week, he did not rise from the dead on that day.

The women rested on the 7th day, Saturday, which was the weekly sabbath (Luke 23:56).  Early the first day of the week, Sunday, they came to the tomb to find it empty and saw an angel who announced that Jesus had already risen (Mark 16:1-6).  Just as Jesus prophesied, he rose from the dead precisely 3 days and 3 nights after his burial (Matthew 12:40, 20:19).  While the tomb was found empty on the first day of the week, Sunday, he rose from the dead on the evening of the 7th day, Saturday.

To hold that Jesus was crucified and was buried on the 6th day of the week (Friday) and rose from the dead on the First day of the week (Sunday) would be to say Jesus was wrong about his prophecy, because he prophesied that he would be in the tomb 3 days and 3 nights.  "For as Jonas was three days and three nights in the whale's belly; so shall the Son of man be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth."  (Matthew 12:40 AV)  The span between the evening of Friday and the early morning of Sunday is not 3 days and 3 nights.  However, a Wednesday burial with a Saturday resurrection is exactly 3 days and 3 nights.

2 The Other Woman

The horn of Daniel, which is symbolic of the Pope of Rome, changed the times and the laws of God.  The beast of Daniel has the same ten horns as the beast in Revelation.  We see the sea beast again in Revelation 17:3, and this time there is someone riding the beast.  It is  the same beast with seven heads and ten horns as the dragon who was in heaven ready to devour the newborn child in Revelation 12:3 and the beast that rose from the sea in Revelation 13:1.  The beast could not destroy Christ or his church, so he tried to create his own devilish christ (the antichrist) and his own counterfeit church.  The church of Jesus is a chaste bride. 2 Corinthians 11:2.  The Devil’s church is an imperious harlot who is riding the beast.

So he carried me away in the spirit into the wilderness: and I saw a woman sit upon a scarlet coloured beast, full of names of blasphemy, having seven heads and ten horns. And the woman was arrayed in purple and scarlet colour, and decked with gold and precious stones and pearls, having a golden cup in her hand full of abominations and filthiness of her fornication: And upon her forehead was a name written, MYSTERY, BABYLON THE GREAT, THE MOTHER OF HARLOTS AND ABOMINATIONS OF THE EARTH. And I saw the woman drunken with the blood of the saints, and with the blood of the martyrs of Jesus: and when I saw her, I wondered with great admiration.  Revelation 17:3-6.

Recall that the dragon made war against the seed of Christ, the children of the first woman.  The Devil decided to establish a church and use that church to war against the children of God.  This is a spiritual war: But as then he that was born after the flesh persecuted him that was born after the Spirit, even so it is now. Galatians 4:29.  The children of the flesh in the Devil’s church are cannon fodder in a spiritual war against the children of the spirit in the true church of Christ.

The Roman church considers Mary the mother of the church.[9]  Is the Catholic Mary the Mary in the Bible?  There is a mother mentioned in the Revelation; she is the harlot with a name upon her forehead: MYSTERY, BABYLON THE GREAT, THE MOTHER OF HARLOTS AND ABOMINATIONS OF THE EARTH.  Revelation 17:5.  Can we know who is this

mysterious harlot? God reveals her identity by explaining that the beast that she rides has seven heads and The seven heads are seven mountains, on which the woman sitteth. (Revelation 17:9 AV) Another clue is that the woman is a city.  And the woman which thou sawest is that great city, which reigneth over the kings of the earth. (Revelation 17:18 AV)

Where are the mysterious seven mountains?  Rome has traditionally been known as the city on seven hills or also seven mountains. A mountain is simply a large mass of earth that rises above the common or adjacent land.  It does not have to be of any definite altitude.  Mountain accurately describes a large hill.[10]  There is only one city that can meet the description of a city on seven mountains, Rome.  Rome is famous for the seven mountains upon which it sits.  The mountains are the Capitoline, the Quirinal, the Viminal, the Esquiline, the Caelian, the Avenue, and the Palatine.[11]

Alexander Hislop points out in his book The Two Babylons, that even pagan poets and orators, who would have no thought of elucidating biblical prophecy, described Rome  as the city on seven hills.[12]  Hislop quotes Virgil, who described Rome thusly: Rome has both become the most beautiful (city) in the world, and alone has surround for herself seven heights with a wall.[13]  Virgil who died approximately 19 years before Christ was born and therefore several generations before the book of Revelation was written.  Hislop also quotes poet Sextus Aurelius Propertius who describes Rome as the lofty city on seven hills, which governs the entire world.[14]   Notice how his description follows closely that which is contained in Revelation.  And the woman which thou sawest is that great city, which reigneth over the kings of the earth. (Revelation 17:18 AV)  Propertius died in 15 B.C. and so he would have had no knowledge of the book of Revelation which was written scores of years after his death. Marcus Valerius Martialis describes the seven dominating mountains of Rome.[15]  Symmachus, the Prefect of Rome, introduced one friend of his to another by letter.  In the letter he describes one friend as being De septem montibus virum, which translated means a man from the seven mountains.  That was equivalent in that day (circa 351-375 A.D.) to calling someone a Civem Romanum, which translated means A Roman Citizen.[16]

Now that we have identified Rome as the location of the seven mountains, who is Babylon the Great, the Mother of Harlots and Abominations of the Earth?   The Catholic Encyclopedia offers us a clue.  It states that [i]t is within Rome, called the city of seven hills, that the entire Vatican State is now confined.[17]

The Vatican, being in Rome, is the great mother of harlots.  This book will present irrefutable evidence of that truth. This book will also explain the link between the Roman Catholic Church and Babylon.   First, we must find out how the mother of harlots got the title Babylon the Great.  Our first clue is found in the bible.  We read in Jeremiah that Babylon hath been a golden cup in the LORD’S hand, that made all the earth drunken: the nations have drunken of her wine; therefore the nations are mad. (Jeremiah 51:7 AV)   Notice that language is very similar to what God states in Revelation regarding BABYLON THE GREAT. She is described in Revelation as that great whore [w]ith whom the kings of the earth have committed fornication, and the inhabitants of the earth have been made drunk with the wine of her fornication. (Revelation 17:2 AV) God further describes her in the Book of Revelation:

For all nations have drunk of the wine of the wrath of her fornication, and the kings of the earth have committed fornication with her, and the merchants of the earth are waxed rich through the abundance of her delicacies." (Revelation 18:3 AV)

Notice the commonality in the characteristics between the Babylon mentioned in Jeremiah, which was written sometime in the 6th Century B.C. and the Babylon in the book of Revelation, which was written sometime in the 1st century A.D.  We have a span of approximately 700 years separating the descriptions and yet we have common elements.  In Jeremiah, Babylon made all of the earth drunk by her wine, and in Revelation the kings and inhabitants of the earth have been made drunk with the wine of her fornication.  It seems that this wine of Babylon is an intoxicating mixture that is born of fornication.  Do we find any other clues from the bible as to what this fornication could be?

The bible gives us a clue.  The Holy Bible depicts the church of Jesus as a chaste bride. Paul states of the Corinthian church: For I am jealous over you with godly jealousy: for I have espoused you to one husband, that I may present you as a chaste virgin to Christ. (2 Corinthians 11:2 AV) Obviously, chastity has nothing to do with the flesh.  Paul is referring to spiritual purity.

The bride of Christ is described in Revelation as new Jerusalem, prepared as a bride for her husband.  And I John saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband. (Revelation 21:2 AV)   Here we have the church symbolized as a chaste city adorned for her husband, who is Christ.  How is she adorned?   In Revelation 19:7-8 we read that she is adorned in fine linen.  How different is that from the bejeweled city of Babylon who was arrayed in purple and scarlet colour, and decked with gold and precious stones and pearls, having a golden cup in her hand full of abominations and filthiness of her fornication. Revelation 17:4.

The new Jerusalem is arrayed simply in fine linen.  What does the fine linen signify?  It is the righteousness of saints.

Let us be glad and rejoice, and give honour to him: for the marriage of the Lamb is come, and his wife hath made herself ready. And to her was granted that she should be arrayed in fine linen, clean and white: for the fine linen is the righteousness of saints." (Revelation 19:7-8 AV)

The fine linen being the righteousness of the saints suggests that the purple and scarlet clothing and the gold and precious stones and pearls of the great whore of Babylon are symbolic of the wickedness of that religion.  There is an unmistakable identity of the Roman Catholic hierarchy by the purple and scarlet ceremonial vestments worn by the Cardinals and the purple ceremonial vestments worn by the Bishops of Rome.  This color scheme used by the church of Rome points directly to the Roman Catholic Church being not a chaste bride but rather the imperious whore of Babylon.  God commands that his chosen people come out of the church of the great whore.  See Revelation 18:4.

We have two very different women depicted in Revelation.  Notice that in Revelation the chaste bride is new Jerusalem.  That suggests that there is an old Jerusalem.  Is there a link between the old Jerusalem" and the great whore of Babylon?  When Israel was unfaithful to God he compared Israel to a  harlot.  The following passage depicts the unfaithfulness of Israel which parallels the sins of idolatry in the Catholic Church and provides a clue as to the common link between the religion of Israel and the religion of Rome.  The commonality between the whore of Babylon in Revelation and the whore of Jerusalem depicted in Ezekiel is clear.

[T]hou didst trust in thine own beauty, and playedst the harlot because of thy renown, and pouredst out thy fornications on every one that passed by; his it was. And of thy garments thou didst take, and deckedst thy high places with divers colours, and playedst the harlot thereupon: the like things shall not come, neither shall it be so. Thou hast also taken thy fair jewels of my gold and of my silver, which I had given thee, and madest to thyself images of men, and didst commit whoredom with them, And tookest thy broidered garments, and coveredst them: and thou hast set mine oil and mine incense before them. My meat also which I gave thee, fine flour, and oil, and honey, wherewith I fed thee, thou hast even set it before them for a sweet savour: and thus it was, saith the Lord GOD. Moreover thou hast taken thy sons and thy daughters, whom thou hast borne unto me, and these hast thou sacrificed unto them to be devoured. Is this of thy whoredoms a small matter, That thou hast slain my children, and delivered them to cause them to pass through the fire for them? And in all thine abominations and thy whoredoms thou hast not remembered the days of thy youth, when thou wast naked and bare, and wast polluted in thy blood. And it came to pass after all thy wickedness, (woe, woe unto thee! saith the Lord GOD;) That thou hast also built unto thee an eminent place, and hast made thee an high place in every street. Thou hast built thy high place at every head of the way, and hast made thy beauty to be abhorred, and hast opened thy feet to every one that passed by, and multiplied thy whoredoms. Thou hast also committed fornication with the Egyptians thy neighbours, great of flesh; and hast increased thy whoredoms, to provoke me to anger. Behold, therefore I have stretched out my hand over thee, and have diminished thine ordinary food, and delivered thee unto the will of them that hate thee, the daughters of the Philistines, which are ashamed of thy lewd way. Thou hast played the whore also with the Assyrians, because thou wast unsatiable; yea, thou hast played the harlot with them, and yet couldest not be satisfied. Thou hast moreover multiplied thy fornication in the land of
