ENTRY FORM
The Photo Contest is entitled LIGHTHOUSE. It is
to showcase the unique architectural character,
aesthetic, and function of a single structure seen
and located in diferent harbors giving light to sea
travellers during the past and at present time that
they are nearing land and at times a picturesque
town or city.
The main aim for the contest is to document
the existing lighthouses in the Philippines with
photography and, at the same time, developing the
photographic skills of the Architects as a medium
of architectural expression.
A Fiscal Year Calendar ( beginning July 1, 2015 to
June 30, 2016) will be produced from the winning
and selected photographs from the contest
All entries from the contest will be exhibited of
all the entries before the judging period and
during the National Convention on April 2015 and
possibly creating a permanent exhibition at the UAP
Headquarters.
WHO CAN JOIN :
All UAP members from Area A who are in good
standing as of September 30 , 2013.
DURATION OF CONTEST:
01 September 2014 02 February 2015
CRITERIA :
The photos will be judged with the following
criteria:
RELEVANCE: The subject of Lighthouse should
be shown, located anywhere in the Philippines
ideally those along the shores of Northern Luzon.
which may be working or not working,
CREATIVITY: How well the subject of the
lighthouse has been represented and translated
into the photographic medium in a creative way
using available photographic techniques.
TECHNICAL: The photo should show technical
excellence in the photographic medium and
adheres to the submission and technical
requirements.
SUBMISSION AND TECHNICAL
REQUIREMENTS
1. Each entrant will only be able to submit up to a maximum
of fve (5) entries with entry form and fee separate for
each entry.
2. The image can be in either color or black and white. Post-
processing of images will be limited to the manipulation
of sharpness, colors, spotting, clean-ups, prior to
submitting
3. Compositing, super-imposing and layering are not
allowed
4. All submissions must be submitted on a high quality
photo paper, matte / silk 12x18 or 12x12 or 12x 16 size
with the flled out entry form.
5. The photos brief description indicating the location, day,
date and time the photo was taken placed at the back of
the photo.
6. Photos may not have watermarks (copyrights, names
or other text overlays), camera time/date stamps, or
decorative borders. The name of the entrant should not
appear anywhere within on or underneath the photo.
7. High Resolution Digital (2048 pixels minimum in any
dimension) copies of the entry must be submitted along
with the printed image.
8. All entries shall be sealed in an appropriate box, with
the payment of the entry fee of P500.00 per entry, to be
submitted not later than 5:00 pm, Monday, February 02,
2015 at the UAP Headquarters to :

DISQUALIFICATIONS:
If it is found that a submitted photo violates copyright,
the photo shall be disqualifed from the contest.
PRIZES :
Awarded by the jury there will be two winners:
1st and 2nd Place and one public favorite
First Prize :P30,000.00 Cash Prize
Second Prize : P20,000.00 Cash Prize
Public Favorite : P5,000.00 Cash Prize
AWARDING and JUDGING:
All the entries will be exhibited for public view-
ing (public to judge the best entry) in Baguio
City from 05 February to 20 February
A shortlisted group of the top 30 entrants will be
invited to the Area A Assembly by February 05
for the awarding ceremony The Final Judging
will be on 2:00 pm, 27 February 2015 during the
AREA A Assembly at the Las Casas de Acuzar,
Bagac, Bataan
The Awarding will be during the Honor Lunch of
the Area A Assembly 28 February 2015
