Introduction

By observing the environment around us we can realize that there are plenty of
substances, materials, objects and even living things that are related to chemistry.

The word chemistry is not synonymous with bad or artificial, because since we
woke contact chemistry; eg battery alarm clock, soap, shampoo, deodorant, hair
gel, perfume, toothpaste, comb material or hairbrush, Teflon frying pan used to
prepare the breakfast, including oil to fry eggs, the match matchstick with which we
light the gas stove, natural dyes and synthetic fill color objects that surround us and
the clothes we wear, the technology teams that make our work more comfortable
and pleasant, caring for our health as well as sensations, feelings (such as love,
fear, sadness, etc.) and diseases are the result of chemical reactions.
Relationship chemistry with humans, technology and the environment.
Ever you've ever wondered what causes the smell of flowers or fruits? Why fruits
and vegetables have different colors and flavors? Or maybe more than one
occasion to go on a picnic you stay marveled with fire dancing campfire. And
perhaps you have not breathed with relief when in the bathroom has slipped out of
your hands the container of shampoo and you see it is plastic, not glass.
Every day we make use of objects and substances whether for grooming home,
our bodies and even consume beverages and foods or medicines, but many times
we wonder what are made?, or what substances containing products cleaning ?,
what creams contain substances that help my skin look, free of impurities ?, people
have cars or using any means of transport, they ever wonder where does
gasoline? Why are different oil engines uses to we use to cook? , What is done our
mobile? Or why not use the same batteries for a radio? , Why some foods cause
us discomfort and not others? How does our body takes nutrients from food or
drugs? And how many times have we wondered why in our grandparents' time
there were so many different products, how preserved foods at the time of our
grandparents?

Well the answer to all these questions and many others that have not made is in
the chemical processes taking place at all times around us. These chemical
changes today have been refined and developed a wide variety of everyday
products such as soaps, detergents, oils, perfumes, medicines, fertilizers, synthetic
fabrics, plastics, preservatives and flavorings, and petroleum products such as
fuels, new materials for clothing and footwear, or industrial use, that make our work
activities, study, fun and rest more comfortable and easy to perform.
Chemical engineering and industry
It is considered to engineering as the area of responsible human endeavor to
transform scientific discoveries into apparatus, equipment, machines and devices,
development and projection systems that improve industrial processes, although
not necessarily imply that no scientific advances are given from the engineering,
now known to any scientific advance is multidisciplinary.
The academic training of an engineer should be comprehensive, must have basic
knowledge of the exact sciences, including pos is of course chemistry, physics and
mathematics, so that you can understand the changes occurring in the nature and
in industrial processes. This knowledge will give you the tools to optimize
processes, to explain chemical and physical changes, creating and optimizing
devices for the benefit of man and society.
As an example we mention the relationship of engineering to chemistry; we
mention some of the chemical engineering; is one of the most challenging and
rewarding careers is the basis for the steel, oil, food and electronics industry and
boost the economy of a country. The formation of a chemical engineer is strongly
based on chemistry, physics and mathematics and computer science, economics
and notions of knowledge of environmental education.
