This document contains a model question paper for the sixth semester course "Aircraft Structures - II" for the Bachelor of Engineering in Aeronautical Engineering program at Anna University, Chennai. The paper tests students on key concepts related to aircraft structures, including shear centers, bending stresses, thin-walled structures, buckling, aircraft wings, and shear flow analysis. It contains two main sections - multiple choice questions worth 20 marks, and longer answer questions worth 80 marks testing analysis and derivations related to aircraft structural elements.

1. Define shear centre 2. Give a sketch of a thin-walled angle section and mark the shear centre location for the same. 3. State S.I. Units for (a) shear flow, (b) shear modulus 4. State the Bredt - Batho formula and list the assumptions involved. 5. A thin - walled single - cell tube is subject to torsion. Derive an expression for shear plow in the walls of the tube. 6. Briefly write about the concept of lumping of cross - sections. 7. For a structure which carries primarily bending loads? why are I - sections preferred over other cross-sections? 8. What is a wagner beam? 9. What are monocoque structures? 10. List 2 functions of an aircraft rib.
