Overview [b02]
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
During the game, you will control the character Adol throughout his adventure.
The game is a action-RPG, and you will not get into any turn-based fights like
in Final Fantasy VI or Breath of Fire III. When you meet an enemy, you attack
in real-time using one of several basic attacks, or by unleashing magic
attacks, or sword skills. There are some swords in this game, and each of them
has its own magic attack and sword skill. Since this is an RPG, there is a
experience system. More kills means more experience, and a stronger character.
Also, the circle on the left part of the main screen will fill up when you
kill enemies. When it is full you can unleash a magic attack.
The swords can also be upgraded or leveled up at certain locations if you pay
for it using Emel. Emel are small gems that are dropped by the enemies found
in the game. A upgraded sword performs better than one that has not been
upgraded, and it is also needed to upgrade in order to use sword skills.
There are quite a few items and collectibles in the game. These are splitted
into several sections; tools, shields, armor, accessory and event items. You
will have to equip the stuff that you want to use, so make sure you do not
think that once you have found something, you won't have to do anything more.
There are many bosses in the game, that require quite some skill, and a
properly leveled character. If you haven't been fighting enough, you won't be
able to even damage bosses at all. When you kill a boss in the main storyline,
you can play against it in the time trial mode. There are quite a few
difficulty settings, but this walkthrough is written for the normal one. The
guide will however work for harder settings as well, as the strategies and
level design are the same. To save the game, you will have to either get to a
monument, which heals you, and saves the game, or quicksave by using the
start-menu. When you quicksave, you will have to quit playing after having
saved.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Attacks [b03]
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
o-----------------------------------------------------------------------------o
| NOTE: There are several sword attacks you can pull off by executing certain |
| commands in The Ark of Napishtim. Here's a list of them all. |
o-----------------------------------------------------------------------------o
- STANDARD ATTACK: By pressing the square button several times while standing
still or running, you can slash in front of you up to several times. At
first, you can slash three times, but it is possible to extend the amount of
slashes by leveling up the weapons you are using.
- SPIN JUMP: While jumping, press square before you start falling down. You
will slash around you. This is a pretty powerful basic attack available from
the start of the game.
- GROUND POUND: If you press square after having started to fall while being in
the air, you will thrust your sword down towards the ground. Very powerful,
and some enemies can only be defeated by using this attack.
- JUMPING SLASH: A very useless move. You won't have to use it. Well, by
pressing square and cross at the same time, you will jump slightly forward,
and slash.
- DASH ATTACK: Tap the directional pad in any direction, wait half a second,
and then press square. You will dash forward and do a powerful attack. Can
hit several enemies using only one attack.
- DASH JUMP: This move is useful for jumping at a long distance. You can
execute it by doing the Dash Attack, but press square and cross (square just
before cross) instead of just square.

O=============================================================================O
You're just about to start reading what is the meat and potatoes of this guide.
The main walkthrough, that is. You can follow it from the beginning, or you can
just check up on it whenever you get stuck after playing on your own. Let's go!
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Rehdan Village [w01]
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Watch the stunning intro, and wait for Adol, o----------------------------o
the her of the game, to wake up. talk to Ord | |
and Olha, and wait for the sun to rise. Isha | KEVIN'S WARES |
will give you your equipment and then run | |
away. Now, get up of bed, and get used to the | Titonuts..........30G |
controls. Exit using the door to your south. | Honey.............100G |
Now go north into a new room to find Olha | Herb..............400G |
praying. Adol will explain that he fell of | Kamio Flower......40G |
his pirate ship when it was attacked, and | Hard Leather......100G |
that this is why he ended up where he is now. | |
You can now ask Olha about different things, o----------------------------o
for example about her sister or uncle.
Talk all you want to, and then exit the room. Talk with the other villagers if
you want to. There's not much to do here, so exit the village by going to the
far south after having watched Kevin's wares. You can find Kevin on the other
side of the bridge located west of the place where you leave the village. You
can not afford anything yet, though.

o-------------------------------------------------------------------------o
Save your game at the monument close to where you entered, and talk to Largo
to find out about the chief that is waiting to the northeast, and about a
beast to the northwest. You will want to go meet the chief. Well, head east,
and kill the first enemies. You will meet a flower enemy. From there, head a
tiny bit east, then south. You will meet another flower down here. Just south
of the flower, there is a hidden path going west. Use it to get to a chest
containing Honey. Now go back to where you found the hidden path, then
northeast. Here, you will meet some strong enemies. Fight until you reach
level 3, and then exit to the northeast to meet the chief. He will show you
the burned bridge.
Now, head back south. All the way south, and then some more. When you get to
the hidden path you saw earlier, exit the screen by going east. Keep going
east, and take down the enemies you meet. When you get to the Fountain of
Prayer, save and heal at the monument, then go north to meet up with Olha.
Allright, after the conversation go back to the village, talk to Kevin and buy
Hard Leather, equip it, then get out of the village again.
Save your game, and then head west. Take to the south when you get to the
fork, and tell Isha that her sister is looking for her. She will run away.
Now, go north at the fork, and then east to find a chest with a herb at the
end of the path. Head back, and instead of going east, go west. You will
reach some spears blocking the way. Jump over them, and continue north. The
path leads west. Now, you will meet some enemies that you most likely can't
damage. Whatever happens, do not let the enemies touch you. Well, head west
to find a hidden path and a Limurian Mushroom in a chest at the end, and
then head back to Rehdan Village to save your game. Remember the Fountain of
Prayer? Go there. When you get there, save your game as well. To the north of
the monument, a boss battle is waiting for you.
Demi Galba \\ 200 HP
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
A very easy battle. The boss has two attacks. One where he will lift a hand
and try to hit you with it. Since the hand rises very slowly, you should be
able to get away without being hit. The other attack is a flaming breath.
Before breathing flames, the boss will lean his head a little backwards.
When he does, run south so that you won't get hit. Just keep on running
close to the middle of the boss and hit him using the spin-jump (jump and
attack before you start falling down) whenever the boss is not attacking.
Make sure you do not keep on hitting the boss for very long each time you
attack, as it can be a little hard to avoid the attacks if you are not
prepared.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Adol's sword will break after the battle. The boss will try to attack again,
but you are saved by Olha and the chief. They take you back to the village.
Follow the chief into his room and talk to him. Tell him that you want to try
crossing to Canaan Island. You will receive the Livart Sword. The chief will
tell you that you will acquire various magic and skills by upgrading the
sword. In return, the chief asks you to search for the Mirror of Zeme, that
has disappeared a month ago. Well, head to the room where Olha was praying at
the start of the game to receive the Seed of Vitality. Now, head out of the
village, save your game, and head east all the way to the Fountain of Prayer
again. On the way, Isha will give you a Wooden Bracelet. Equip it and walk
ahead. When you get to the Fountain of Prayer, walk north past the two people
there, and into the cave.

o-------------------------------------------------------------------------o
Allright. Level 6 is a pretty good level to be at now, so if you are much
weaker, remember to fight all the enemies you meet. Well, drop down into the
hole you see. Down here, there is a chest and some bugs. The bugs can easily
be taken out by doing a ground pound (jump, the attack while falling). In the
chest there is Honey. Walk north out of the room, into a new one, and use the
sword to open up the wall. Now, equip a healing item like Honey to your tool
slot, since a battle is coming up. You will meet a black haired man that will
attack you. Just keep on running in the battle, and once the man has jumped
towards you, do the three-hit combo. If you keep on running, you won't get hit
even once. It is also possible to jump to avoid the man's attacks.
You will learn that the man is named Geis. He will leave, so run east, and
continue running the only way possible until you reach the exit. Once outside,
watch Xaxon and Lloyd's conversation. Lloyd will tell you that he belongs to
Baslam Trading Company. Go west then north. You will exit the screen, and the
music will change. Save at the monument, and continue running until you get to
Port Rimorge.

o-------------------------------------------------------------------------o
Welcome to town. Well, you might want to speak with the townsfolk, so just do
that. Next, if you have at least five Emel (Emel is the blue stones that
enemies drop, and that you can see below your gold in-game), you should go
down the stairs from the entrance of the town, and then southwest and into a
building made of lumber. In here, make Leav upgrade your Livart Sword by one
level, so that it reaches level 2. Check the sword information to find out
more about strength, levels and cost regarding all weapons in the game. Well,
you should now check out Cloa's shop close to the stairs you walked down
earlier, and then Rose's shop inside the castle-like building - very close to
Cloa's shop. If you can afford anything, buy some equipment. If you can't like
most people, skip it.
Ok, now you should go back to the entrance of town, and then east without
going down the stairs. Go past the inn, and into the house with the green
roof. Once inside, Baslam will be waiting for you in the second room in front
of you. Talk to him twice to find out that he wants you to find Come th
Island, and that he will give you something if you do. Go to the southeast
part of town and enter a hut to talk with an old man dressed in red. Talk to
him, and ask him about anything you feel like. When you stop the conversation,
he will give you the Map of Canaan.
If you want to do an optional quest, get out of town from where you came from,
and walk all the way south to get to one of the sides of the bridge that was
burned. Talk to the man here, and then go into Mythos path, all the way
through it, and then go to the opposite side of the bridge by visiting the
place where you met the chief of Rehdan when you had gotten out of Rehdan the
first time. Talk to the yellow-haired man here, and you will receive a letter.
Head back to Port Rimorge and give it to Baslam that is waiting in the house
east of the inn. Baslam will give you thirty gold. Now head all the way back
to the guy that gave you the letter to get a Seed of Power. Next, go back to
Rimorge, and exit town using the eastern path and save at the monument.
For reference, Adol should be about level 9.

Allright, now you will encounter lots of animal enemies. You should really kill
a lot of them, to receive lots of Emel and level up some levels. Once you are
about level 12, go back to town and upgrade your sword in the lumber building
southwest in town. Of course, I am talking about the Livart Sword. Well,
upgrade it to level 3, and head back to Canaan Plains, and then exit the screen
using the western path. Now go all the way west, then south, and then east, to
get to a chest containing Wild Fowl Meat.
Now, go back to where you leveled up and killed lots of enemies (one screen
east), and then head out of the screen north, then walk over this place, and
exit north. At the area you arrive at now, head northwest to find a chest
containing Rehdan Feather. Now, enter the entrance to the mountain that you
will find northeast of the chest.

o-------------------------------------------------------------------------o
Save and heal at the monument in front of the entrance, and exit the screen by
running north. There are flying enemies here. Kill them by doing ground
pounds. Watch out for some explosive stones coming from above as well. Jump up
the rocks north, then make your way west past the black holes in the wall, and
then all the way northeast. Go into the door here, and find a chest containing
a herb. Go back, and exit the room by using the southeast door.
Jump over the gap to the east, kill the stone throwing enemy, and continue
running east. Always run away when you see an exploding stone. Run over a
bridge, over all the gaps without falling down, and go into the door at the
far east. The upper one. In here, it is a little hectic. Make your way to the
far northeast, and avoid the exploding stones. When it gets tough, hide in the
black holes. Well, exit using the door, and head to the northeast part,
jumping up there using all the platforms in your way. This is pretty hard
with all the exploding stones, but you can do it. Sweep the area to find an
accessory holder.
There is a door that you will get to if you make it, so use it to get to a new
room. After you have gone through the next room, and exited using a passage
northwest in that room, you will get to a monument where you can save and heal.
Exit the room with the monument using the southern door. Outside again, you
will have to avoid some stones, and open a chest containing Raba's Diary. Run
west over a bridge, and into a new room. In here, you will be attacked by the
usual stones, but also some ground-type enemies. Ground pound to kill them for
lots of experience. Well, jump up on the ledge to your right, and get to the
higher ground on the west side of the room to find a chest containing Bandit's
Mail. Equip it, and exit the room using the north door.
Head into another door north to find lots of exploding stones covering a
chest. Move close to the stones, then run away to remove them. Repeat until
you can open the chest and get a Wing of Alma. Later, you can use it to exit
any dungeon. Go back, and exit using the western door. A small scene will be
triggered, showing a boy. Kill the enemies to save him. Just Ground Pound to
take them all down. You will learn that the boy is the son of the chief that
gave you the sword you are currently using. Exit south, then go east. Drop
down to find a new chest containing Rehdan Shield. Equip it. Go back west, and
jump all the way over the platforms. The rest of the area is straight-forward
easy. Just run past all the black holes, and avoid stones. There is a door at
the northwest side of the area.
In this room, drop down to the right to find a chest containing Blue Tabula.
Walk southwest without dropping down the ledge to find a chest containing
Sylphen Boots.
Make your way up to where you dropped down, and go north. Continue the only
way you can go until you make it outdoors again. Run east over a bridge, and
save at the monument in the room at the other side. Continue running until you
get to an altar. If you are about level 21 or more, continue and pick up the
item there, which is a Mirror Fragment. If you are lower than 20, gain
experience by going back and taking down the ground-type enemies.
A boss fight will start once you pick up the Mirror Fragment. As always, make
sure you have some healing items in the tool slot before starting the battle.
Zonplas \\ 800 HP
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
The boss's main attack is hitting the ground, and hurting you if you are
nearby. Make sure that you do not make it a habit to stay close to the boss.
Attack him just after he has attacked, and use spin-jump attacks to hurt
him. The boss also has an attack where he will fly to one of the edges of
the screen, and launch spores at you. Just go to the opposite side of the
screen, and wait until it is safe to start attacking again. The final attack
the boss has, is throwing eggs on the floor. Attack them to blow them down
the ledge. If you don't do this fast, the eggs will hatch, and flying
enemies will appear. Keep on doing spin-jumps until Zonplas dies.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
When the battle is over, pick up the Blirante Sword that lies in front of you.
Now exit the screen by going south. Now, go all the way back to the foot of
the mountain, and save your game. You can now browse between your swords with
the L or R button. Head back to Port Rimorge. Talk with the boy and he will
take you to old man Raba. If you talk to Raba once more, he will let you see
his notebook, if you found it earlier. Here, you can see enemies, nice people
and bosses. There's quite a few profiles, so take a look. To unlock more
profiles, just play the game, kill the enemies you want to unlock the profiles
of, and meet the people you want to read about. Go upgrade any of your swords
as much as you want. Do this in the wooden building in southwest part of town.
New equipment is not worth spending money on, but some healing items might
come handy.
Now, head northwest out of town. Save, talk to Xaxon, and head southwest. Run
through Mythos Path, but do not open the red gate. Instead head back to Rehdan
Village. Before going into the village, Largo will tell you about the Rehdan
Feather if you have got it. Head all the way north to where Olha was praying
at the start of the game. Talk to her twice to show her the Mirror Fragment,
and she will give you a Seed of Defense. Go back to the Mythos Path, and use
the Blirante Sword (fire sword) to open the big red gate. There is a green
gate, but you can not open it yet. Head west.

Save, and go west down some stairs. In this room, you should first follow
the path until the first gap. Drop down to the path below, and get the Wild
Fowl Meat from the chest on your left. Now, just fall down between one of
the gaps. Down here, you will meet lots of enemies. Kill as many as you
want to, and then head one room west. At the far left in this room, there
is a chest with a Herb. Jump up all the platforms, and at the top of them,
go one room east. Now you will reach the room where you dropped down
earlier. Go all the way east, but stop just before entering the door.
Fall down south where a spike is missing to find a chest with a Heavy Belt.
Get up to where you just fell down. Run into the room on your
right. Here, there is a long path with spikes on the sides. Make sure you
jump a lot while running, as the enemies will shoot at you. In the next
room, jump over the first gap, kill the enemy using a ground pound, and then
dash jump over to the next gap located straight east. The next thing you will
have to do, is to do a normal jump, and land on the gray pole. From the pole,
it possible to dash jump to the gap located even further east. This is very
hard, and damn annoying, as if you fall down, you will have to run all the way
up again. When you have reached the platform east of the gray pole, dash jump
to the platform to the north and you will find a chest containing Capla Water.
Drop down now, and run up again to the room you just dropped down from (yeah,
just do it). Once back, take the first fork right, jump over a gap, and run
east until you see four pillars on your right side. They can be hard to spot,
though. Well, dash jump into the middle of them. You can dash jump from the
left of the pillars. You will now drop down to a chest with a Galba Hand. Now,
dash jump to the north. In this room, there is a boss that you can't kill, and
a chest. Avoid the boss's attacks, and collect the Eldian Orb. If you die, you
just start in the boss room again. Now, go back, and get to the far southeast
in the room with the four pillars.
When you reach this part of the room, jump one gap north, and then dash
jump to another gap in the same direction. There is a chest here with an
Accessory Holder. Head into the room north of the chest. Now go east. There is
a pillar behind the stairs. Dash jump to it, even though you can not see the
pillar. Once there, jump east and open the chest here to find a Bloody Nail.
Now, equip the nail, drop down, and head up the huge stairs. Go north, and
continue running past two lava-filled rooms. Exit the second lava-room by
going north. Save, equip a good HP-refill tool in the tool-slot. Go north,
collect the Mirror Fragment on the floor.
Ud-Meiyu \\ 800 HP
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
The boss's main attack is jumping into the air, and slamming down on you.
Just run away, and you should be able to avoid him. When he hits the
ground, jump to dodge the energy wave, and then attack him using either
Ground Pound or Spin Jump. The second attack is a spinning attack. The
easiest thing is to just avoid the boss when he starts spinning and wait for
hi doing the jump attack described earlier. During this battle, I used only
the Livart Sword at level 7. Adol should be about level 25. The boss is not
too hard, and you should be able to take it down in a few tries. Since the
lava is not very dangerous, you should run into it if you can avoid the boss
by doing so.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
After the battle, run all the way north, up some stairs once you get outside,
and listen to the statue. Now go north one screen, and pick up the Ericcil
Sword from the right stand. Now go south again. You will meet Geis, the
swordsman from Mythos Path. Now, follow him back north. Talk to him, and then
leave until you reach the Ruins of Amnesia. If you have the Wing of Alma, use
it to leave. Save, and exit to the east. Now, open the gate using your Ericcil
Sword. In this room, there is a Rainbow Fragment and a Red Tabula.
You can now check out the Sealed Cavern Mini-Games. Do not do anyone of them
though, as you will regret it later when you reach higher levels. You will need
to have the Rehdan Feather, and then head to Rehdan Village, and into the room
where Olha has been praying earlier. Touch the altar there, and you will
transport into the sealed cavern. Check the Sealed Caver Mini-Games to find
more about the various challenges.
Well, when you feel like, head to Port Rimorge and upgrade your weapons. As
always, you decide yourself what weapons to upgrade. Afterwards, go talk to
Baslam in the house east of the inn. He will give you a Gratios Talisman. You
can use it to breath underwater at certain places. Now go to the inn. If you
talk to the yellow-haired man, he can play the videos and music that you have
heard or seen earlier. The man can also read the tabulas you have found.
The blue haired man can trade your Caple Water for an
Emel Mallet. Now, go visit the old man in the wooden building south in town.
You know, the man named Raba. You will learn that the bridge has been
repaired. Now, run to the bridge, and over to the other side.

Head to the beach southwest of Rehdan Village. Go into the water and head west
to find a chest with Capla Water. If you did not get the Emel Mallet from the
inn in Port Rimorge, you can do that now. Now it is time to run north from the
beach. If you have followed this guide from start, some of the items here will
already have been taken. This goes for the one in the chest to the east at the
first fork, and then one at the end of a hidden path just after you've jumped
over the blockade of spears. Well, jump over the spears, and run north while
killing enemies. You will get to a fork going east. Use it to get to a chest
containing a Runed Earring. Now watch out for the red enemies and head
northwest out of the screen. Take the next fork east to find Wild Fowl Meat,
and then take the west fork.
You will meet a mini-boss here. It is very easy to defeat. Just ground pound,
and you should not even have to take damage. When you ground pound at the
mini-boss you will hit it several times. Just watch out for its small helpers.
When the mini-boss is dead, head back one screen, and exit northeast. You will
meet Olha at an altar. Talk to her two times to get a Seed of Power. Use it
and head all the way back to Port Rimorge. Oh yeah, no dungeon or anything in
these woods - sorry. Once in Port Rimorge, get some sword upgrades, and exit
the town east. Get to Canaan Plain by going east, and then go to Limewater
cave by exiting the plains to the west.

It will be very dark here, so be on your guard. Save at the monument to your
right, and go further right to exit the screen. Continue north through another
area, and then follow the fork going east in the next room. Continue following
this path through all the rooms, until you get to a room with a chest. It
contains Wild Fowl Meat. Now go back, and go west until you can't get any
further in that direction. Now go north into a new room. Jump up on the first
pole you see, and then up on the platform where a chest can be found. There is
a herb inside. Now you will have to go north, then east into another room, and
then north again. Open the chest in this for a herb, and then head out of the
room again. You should now be seeing red slime-type enemies.
Ok, exit northeast, and then head east through three rooms. You will get to a
fork where you should go south (and then west) to find a chest containing
Galba Armor. Head back to the fork where you went south. Go east
there, and then north to find a new chest containing Galba Shield. Now, with
the shield and the armor, use the Wing of Alma to exit the cave, and save your
game. Go to Canaan Plains, and run east to the main area of the plains. Now
exit north and when you get to the bridge, head west. You will get to a huge
insect after having followed this path. Kill it by ground pound or using magic
at it when it gets close to the ground. Watch out for its helpers and the
projectiles that the boss shoots. When you have killed the bug, you will be
rewarded with a Bell of Silence.
Head back to Limewater Cave, and save your game again. Now you will have to
progress through lots of rooms. From the save-room, go: North, north,
north, north, east, north, east, north. You will end up in a room with lots
of platforms. At first, you can only jump up west in this room, for
reference. In the eastern part of the room, there is a chest with Wild Fowl
Meat. Exit this room by going northwest, and then west. You will now get to
a place where you can fall down into the water. Do that, and then head
north to find a monument where you can save. From this save-room, you can
get back to where you fell down by going south, south, east, east, north,
northwest, west. Now you will arrive at the place you dropped down into the
water. Instead of dropping down, dash jump over to the other side. You can
also do a normal jump and land on the pillar in the middle of the gap if
you feel like. Exit the screen by going west. In here, equip the Bell of
Silence, and then head northwest. Drop down to the ground, and head north.
Kill all the flying enemies, and then head north once again. You might have
to Dash Jump to get up on the platform connected to the northern door. In
here, open a chest for a Gold Tabula. Go back south to all the flying enemies.
You can stack up on Herbs and Emel by killing lots of them. Well, head south
from the flying-enemy room. Continue southeast past some red slime-type
enemies, and then north all the way to the save monument. Save your game.
Phew, this cave is really hard to navigate through, am I right?
Now, equip the Rainbow Fragment so that you can see the black enemies that
will soon appear, and then head north out of the save-room. Now head east,
east, then south to find a chest containing a herb. From this room, head north
three times. In the third room, go to the eastern part, and jump up the
platforms to find a room with a chest containing an Accessory Holder. Go out
of this room, and head southwest back to the save monument, and save your
game. Head north out of the save-room, then go west. In this room, you can
kill lots of enemies and try to level up, and then collect Key of the Cavern
from the chest here. Now head north out of the room. In this room, there is a
waterfall. Behind it is a chest containing Wild Fowl Meat. Head north out of
the room. In the next room, jump up on the closest platform, and dash jump
east to get to a chest containing Seed of Defense. Go back to the save point
once again. The reason we are going back all the time, is to heal, and of
course, if you die, you will be glad that you've saved.
Now, from above the save-room, go east, then north, northeast, then west to
find a chest containing Blue Potion. Go one room back, then north to find
another Blue Potion. Now exit this room west, and run west through the grassy,
long room. You will get to a gap. Do not jump over it, but run south instead.
Go into the door leading east. In here, dash jump onto a platform, and then
open the chest above you for some Capla Water. Now go back to the room you
came from, equip some healing items to your tool slot, and head south for a
mini-boss fight.
When I fought the boss, I was at level 39, and I must say, this boss is easier
than any RPG-boss I can think of. At least a mid-game one like this. Well,
just use jumping attacks, and watch out for the slime-type enemies that
appear. When the boss is dead, head back north until you get to the gap on
your left. Drop down, and continue north until you get to the Cave Lake. Watch
the conversation with Geis.

Blue Potion. Go north, save your game at the monument, and prepare for a boss
battle. Head north and pick up the Mirror Fragment if you think you are ready.
It is very important that your Blirante Sword is level 8 or higher. If it is
lower, head back to Port Rimorge and upgrade. Now, if you choose to go back,
you should also visit Rose's shop. Buy all of her items to get Rose's
Influence. Show it to Cloa outside to get cheaper prices when bartering with
him. If you chose not to go back, do this next time you hit the port. I will
remind you!
Orjugan \\ 1200 HP
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Ok, it is important that you are strong enough. Your Blirante should be
level 8 or level 9. My Adol was at level 40 when I engaged the boss. The
most important thing is to gather up MP by hitting the boss's arms using
spin jumps. Use the Blirante to do this, as it is the Blirante's magic you
will want to use. Do not stay in the middle of the area when you do not have
to, as the boss will easily hit you with a laser beam if you do. The boss
wil also try to hit you with its arms, but you can avoid this by jumping.
When the boss launches birds towards you, hit
them back at the boss. Well, once you have attacked the arms enough, and
your MP meter is full, face the boss from the middle of the area, and
unleash the magic attack of the Blirante by pressing the Circle Button.
NOTE: In my version of the game, the left arm seems bugged, as it is
impossible to hit it. Go for the right arm if you encounter this bug.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Now, go south again to save your game, then use one of the boss's arms to exit
the room to the north. Examine the wall in front of you, and try to leave.
When you control Adol again, you will be on the ship. Get out of the room you
start in, and go into the one to the east. Run down the stairs and go into the
eastern door for some Pirates' Firewater. Go back up, unboard the ship, and
talk to Captain Ladoc. He will take you to Port Rimorge again. Head southwest
down to the docks and talk to Terra for a Seed of Power. Now, there is not
much to do in Port Rimorge, other than check out the inn, and the old man's
house to find Dogi there. So, head back to Rehdan Village and the room where
Olha has been praying earlier.
Geis will be here, and he is angry! He will leave when you arrive. Give Olha
the last Mirror Fragment to receive a Capla Water. After the mirror has been
repaired, you will see a scene from the altar north of Ruins of Amnesia. Isha
will turn sick, but there is nothing you can do about that. Now head out of the
village, and southwest to the beach. A man named Toska is waiting there. Trade
your Pirates' Firewater for a Golden Locket.
So, time to go check out what really happened with all the people that were
talking at the altar in the Ruins of Amnesia. Go to the Ruins of Amnesia (you
can get there by heading to Mythos Path, and then going west after having
passed the gate where you first met Geis. Save your game once in the ruins,
and head to the room where you can find the four pillars that you once dash
jumped to in order to fall down in the middle of them. Go to the northeastern
part of this room, and stop when you get to the chest here. Equip the Rainbow
Fragment, and a platform will appear to your left. Jump on it, and continue
jumping until you see a huge pillar floating above you. Equip the Ericcil,
which is the yellow lightening sword, and then stand on the far right edge of
the connected platforms you are standing on.
Start doing a combo with many slashes. You will eventually charge under the
pillar, but get to the other side. You need to use the Ericcil to do this! Head
into the next room by going north. Open the chest in here, and kill three
enemies that appear. You will get the Black Tabula. Allright, now head all the
way to the end of the ruins, which is where the altar you need to go to is
located. You have been there before, remember. Watch the scene with the three
elemental fairies. Use the Wing of Alma, and then go all the way to Port
Rimorge again. When you arrive there, talk to the man in blue outside of the
inn. Give him the Golden Locket, and you will receive a Lucky Silver Coin. Now,
head back to Rehdan Village, talk to the chief that has been hurt, and head
back to Port Rimorge. Upgrade swords and buy healing items, then talk to Baslam
in his house east of the inn. Terra will enter. when you are ready, speak to
her. This is your final warning.

Lanaluna \\ 2000 HP
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
This boss is pretty easy. Stay near it at all times, and slash like crazy
using your strongest swords. When your MP meter is full, use Sword Magic. If
the boss starts rolling around, try to predict where it will bounce - just
think of it as a softball. Well, the boss also has a attack where it will
throw its toungue at you, but you can avoid it by staying close to the boss.
They key is, STAY CLOSE to the boss while attacking. It should go down
pretty fast. The boss will also sometimes try to grow invisible, but you
will still be able to see it.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Now, after Geis has done his things, check out the body of the Admiral to
find Key of Romun. Time to use they key, but be very careful as your two
teammates have a bad habit of dying very easily. Just remember that healing
yourself will also heal them. Head back up stairs, and up another set of
stairs to the room where you met Terra earlier. Here, you will find a chest
containing Starlight Medal. Now head back down. In the third room from the
left, there is 10,000 gold. Now, head up on deck and go all the way down to
the chest in the other ship for another 10,000 gold. Now, head back to Port
Rimorge. Watch the scene where Ernst has gotten to the altar. Finally, it is
time for the Ark to appear.
Now, talk to the boy waiting in the centre of Port Rimorge. He says that he is
missing something. These things are named Pikkard, and are living animals. You
can find the Pikkards for him from now. Check the Pikkards section in this
walkthrough for more information. Also, if you go to the shack where you
usually upgrade your weapons, you will hear that for 100, 000 Emel, it would
be possible to get a special armor.
Ok, time to head back to Rehdan Village again. Buy Seed of Vitality from Kevin
at the bridge Southwest in the village for 20,000 Gold. Enter the room where
the chief was lying in his bed earlier. Olha and Ur are also there. The chief
gives you a Wyvern Medaille, and tell you that you can use it to enter
Windseeker Heights located northwest of the village. Ok, get out of Rehdan,
and head northwest. Continue running northwest until you reach the mini-boss.
Kill it for an Emelas Crown. Equip it at once. Go back and head northeast to
reach Windseeker Heights.
You can find the first missing Pikkard straight in front of you, so pick it
up. Now touch the altar in front of you, and use the item given to you by the
chief to activate some stairs. Use them to get down into the ruins.

Save your game at the monument. Go south, and you will notice an enemy that
spits a laser/fire beam. Use ground pounds to attack it all the way until
it dies. Look, the Emel dropped here isn't of the same small kind as earlier!
Well, continue running southeast past the razor-type enemies, and into a door.
In here is an enemy that has been sucked onto the wall in front of you. Kill
it easily by using my favorite attack; the ground pound. The enemy might try
to hit the floor and make some stones fall from above, but if you stay close
to the enemy, you won't get hit. Head into the door to get further north. In
here, there's two blade-type enemies, and one enemy that can heal you.
Head down the stairs to the west. Continue running down stairs and then drop
down where the wall is open. Down here, there are some bombs that you should
destroy before they blow themselves up. Head into the door you'll get to. In
here, start running and drop down. You will eventually each a chest containing
a Blue Potion. Now drop all the way down, and head out of the room by going
south. Here you will find the White Tabula. Go all the way back up.
Now, go east, jump up to the ledge above you by standing on the broken wall
that lies on the floor. Run east, up some stairs, and find the chest
containing a Seed of Vitality. Now run east down some other stairs, past two
of the circling fire/laser enemies, and west into an opening in the wall. In
here, ground pound to kill another of the wall-sucked enemies, and go north
into a new opening in the wall. Well, activate the emerald by hitting it, and
then go to the middle of the area. Answer yes to start the device. You will
now be transferred down a lift.
Find Capla Water to the west once you have arrived at the bottom of the lift,
and then save your game. Run south, then east up some stairs and continue
running until you see an opening in the wall. Enter to find 80,000 Emel. Happy,
yes? You will also find an Accessory Holder and an Emelas Shield. Get out again
and head west. When you get to a fork, head north into a room, and drop down
until you see a chest. It contains a Blue Potion. At the bottom, exit the room
and activate the emerald by hitting it. You can see what happened after that,
and then head back up again.
Jump west over the platform that has appeared and walk into the door on the
other side. In here, drop all the way down, and activate the emerald at the
bottom. Collect the Blue Potion on your way up again. Once you are at the top,
and outside of the room again, drop straight down where there is no wall to
find a chest with 10,000 Emel. Then run up again by going southeast. Now, drop
down south of the room where you first dropped all the way down, and activate
the emerald there. Now use the platforms that appeared to go south and activate
yet another emerald. Use the platforms now to go north, pick up the Sealed Key
from the chest, and save your game.
This is where you should go back by using the Wing of Alma, as you should
really attend to some matters before finishing the game. And yeah, you might
want to level up more as well. But in theory, you can continue north, yes.

Head back to Port Rimorge. Go to the inn, and talk to August. Read all of the
tabulas, and he will ask you if you can give them all to him. Do that, and he
will give you a Winged God Emblem. Now, head to the sword-upgrade shack
southwest in town and give the keeper 100,000 Emel (you found this much in
Kishgal if you followed the walkthrough). You will receive an Emelas Armor.
Equip it, and talk to the boy in the middle of the town to give him the
Pikkard you found outside Kishgal. Go east, save your game and then head to
Canaan Plains. Go all the way north to Grana-Vallis Mountain and head ALL the
way to the top. A Pikkard is waiting outside of the altar. On your way back,
go to the bridge in Canaan Plains, and then, a little south of it, run west
and kill the mini-boss there. You will be rewarded with an Emelas Glove. This
battle is so easy, it' scary. Head back to Rimorge, and deliver the Pikkard.
Now, head to Ruins of Amnesia, and go all the way to the altar at the end. A
Pikkard is waiting close to the save monument there. Head back and deliver the
Pikkard. Now, go to Limewater Cave, run all the way past the second save
monument, and fight the mini-boss you fought earlier in the game again. The
reward for killing it is is Emelas Guard. The battle is very easy, and
does not require me to tell you how to hit the boss less than twenty times.
After the battle, go north until you reach the boss that was made out of a
tree. Head into where his head was placed and you will find a Pikkard at the
eastern part of this place, named Sunrise Inlet. This was the last Pikkard. Go
back and deliver it. Your reward is the Daylight Stone.
Now is a good time to get to the Sealed Cavern again. With the Sealed Key and
the Key of the Cavern, you can play all of the mini-games. Level up a lot,
that is my advise. For reference, the Sealed Cavern is located all the way
north in Rehdan Village, in the room where Olha usually can be found praying.
Now, after some mini-games my Adol was level 53. Still too low. What I did
now, was to go to Ruined City Kishgal again to grind enemies, and earn lots of
Emel. You can also play more mini-games, but personally, I think they are
downright disastrously boring. So, you decide how to do it, but at least earn
lots of Emel so that you can buy the final upgrade for your swords (level 11).
Also, you should be around level 57-60 before continuing. For reference, each
level 11 sword upgrade costs 100,000 Emel. Running from the start and to the
second save point of the ruins should earn you about 50,000 Emel if you kill
all the enemies. Do this six times to earn 300,000 Emel, which is enough for
buying the three level 11 sword upgrades. If you are still under level 57,
keep on grinding! This is a LOT of grinding, but the game was developed this
way - blame Nihon Falcom.
Now listen. The most important thing now, is that you equip all your equipment
that rises STRENGTH. Even though you lose DEFENSE by doing this, don't mind
that, as STRENGHT is what you will want. As much as possible. My Adol at level
57 had a total of 320 strenght with all the equipment on. Well, head to Ruins
of Amnesia again, and then drop down in the middle of the four pillars. If you
don't remember the pillars, you can find them in the room where all the
jumping from platform to platform takes place. You can check the ruins of
Amnesia section in this walkthrough for a closer description. Well, drop down,
put LOTS of healing items in your tool slot. Blue Potions are nice.
Then dash jump north (or equip the rainbow fragment to see a platform you
can land on instead of dash jumping). You will end up in a room with a boss.
If you have followed this document, you should remember being in here earlier.
Majunun \\ 7610 HP
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Some people say that this is the hardest thing in the whole game, but I
don't agree. The Mini Games is Sealed Cavern are much harder. Of course, you
will need a properly leveled Adol, and a top leveled sword. If Adol is able
to damage the boss each time he slashes at it with his sword, you are good
to go. If not, you need more strength, aka you need to level up. The boss
has three attacks. One where it will launch red beams at you. When this
happens, run and jump as well as you can. If you are lucky, you won't get
hit too many times. Another attack is that the boss will generate
earthquakes. When this happens, be quick and run as far away as you can.
The last, as most common attack are some white beams that move slowly. Just
dodge them by running between them. Ok, your strategy when thinking offense,
will be to use your most powerful sword (if all are level 11, use the
Blirante) to quickly attack the boss when it is not attacking you. Do not
pull of huge combos, as you will most likely get hit before you can move
away. Also, your MP meter should fill up quickly if you have a level 11
sword, so use magic attacks whenever you can. The battle is not too hard -
just make sure you are powerful enough. Of course, use healing items when
needed. Once the boss is dead, it drops three Capla Water.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Now head back to Ruins of Kishgal again. Go to the last save point you found.
The one that was close to where you found the Sealed Key. Save here (feel free
to choose another slot if you feel like having a second opportunity, as you
won't be going back). Now head north. Olha will pop up, and a lagfest will
start. Say to Olha that you are ready. You will receive the Mirror of Zeme,
which is the last Event Item.

you see a chance, attack with all the magic you can. The battle is not very
hard if you are powerful enough.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Run up the stairs on your right after having saved back at the last monument.
Napishtim \\ 3000 + 5000 HP
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
The attacks of the boss are blasting beams at you, and making the floor
below the main circular platform turn electric. You should attack the eye on
the boss by using Magic attacks of the red and the yellow sword. If you run
out of MP and restoring items, walk down to the floor and close to the boss,
once it is safe, and then slash away. Just make sure you do not touch the
floor while it has been electrified. Also, when the eye goes out of reach by
heading upwards or downwards, just dodge the beams and wait for it to
return. Not a very hard battle.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Congratulations, you have completed Ys: The Ark of Napishtim.

| Extras [x04] |
O=============================================================================O
In addition to the main storyline, there are some extra features that you can
spend time on, if you want to play more.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Sealed Cavern Mini-Games [e01]
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
You can access these mini-games by going to the room in Rehdan Village where
Olha is always praying in. It is located north in the village, close to the
room Adol woke up in at the start of the game. Note that you need the Rehdan
Feather to access. You can find this feather outside Grana-Vallis Mountain, in
Canaan Plains. By completing the games, you can earn either levels, Emel or
gold. Initially, there's three mini-games available, but you can unlock more
by finding various items like Key of the Cavern and Sealed Key.
Well, those are the two items that are, really. Also, initially, there's three
stages in each mini-game, but if you replay them, there will be even more.
Peak Performance
================
This is a jumping game where you have to run and jump quickly in order to
complete the stages before the time runs out. The final stages are very, very
hard. Just remember to dash jump when you can't reach a platform! Because of a
jumping glitch, these mini-games can be frustrating.
Enemies Amongst Friends
=======================
Here, you will have to stay on guard in the middle of the screen, and closely
watch the sprites that appear. Some of them will morph into enemies. Kill all
of the enemies at sight, before they manage to escape to the south. When
enough friendly sprites have escaped, the stage will have been completed.
Because the yellow sword has short slashes, you should use it to lower the
risk of hitting nice villagers that are not monsters.
Search in The Sand
===================
At first, you will see lots of items scattered around. When the counter
starts, you will have to pick them all up, but the items will now be
invisible, so you will have to test your mind. Pick up all items to do this
right. If you run into the blue monsters, you will slow down, and if you run
into the special items, you will speed up. Search in the water, as well as in
the sand.
Clearing The Field
===================
Beat the seeds off the ledge before three of them hatch. The colored seeds
will hatch much faster than the normal ones, so make sure you slash them off
the edge as fast as you can. I usually use the Ericcil to clear the place of
seeds, but when things get too hectic, the Livart's Magic Attack is very
handy. When the exploding stones start coming, just destroy them before they
explode.
The Art of Evasion
==================
Run around, and avoid all the enemies until the time runs out. The yellow
circles are only there for high-score fun. So, you ask if I get dizzy? Yes,
like hell, is my answer. If you are lucky, the game might bug out, and the
enemies might hang so that you can just stand still. This does not happen
often though.
The Lost Emel
==============
Find the stolen Emel. The enemies are carrying most of them, so hunt them
down, and collect the given number of Emel. Before the time runs out, by all
means.
The Gauntlet
============
Kill all the enemies. Just remember that you won't heal much between the
battles. My favorite attack in most situations is the ground pound. This mini-
game is not very hard.
The Three Swords
================
You need to protect three stoned villagers from the enemies. Do not ask me
what they did to get stoned. Some of the enemies are colored. Attack them with
the sword of the corresponding color. Collect the Capla Water that drops to
heal yourself, of course. Kill the monsters as fast as you can. Note that
magic attacks are handy here. Also, there are hard-shelled enemies, so equip
the Bell of Silence before playing.
The Journey Home
================
Go pick up Isha. She is waiting some place north.
Then, go slowly back with her, and kill the enemies before they kill her.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Pikkard Locations [e02]
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
You can carry one Pikkard at the time. The pikkards will go missing after you
have saved all the villagers at the imperial fleet. They boy in the middle of
town is the one you need to speak to in order to find out about this, as well
as when you want to deliver them. The reward for finding them all is the
Daylight Stone, which revives you if you die.
- PIKKARD 1: Found outside Ruined City Kishgal.
- PIKKARD 2: Found outside the altar at the top of Grana-Vallis Mountain.
- PIKKARD 3: In Ruins of Amnesia, there is a Pikkard close to the final save
monument.
- PIKKARD 4: This last Pikkard is located in Sunrise Inlet. Get there by going
to Limewater Cave, and heading ALL the way north. This is a long trip!

| Skill and Sword Magic will improve. Sword Skill is the ability to connect |
